Transferring licence to different USB key [Solved]
As I cant start the array, how can I access the Flash drive to put the pro.key file in /config folder as the server is 50 miles away?

Dead USB Key - how to restore to new key
Hi All I replaced my 10+yr old USB key as I didnt want it to fail... then 6 weeks later the new key is dead - when I plug it into a PC it says its corrupt and cant be repaired. So, in connect I can see that there was a backup of the USB kay made in January, but there doesnt seem to be a "restore to new key" option anywhwere, also as I replaced the key a few weeks ago I believe I need support to allow the transfer. Can anyone assist as at the moment both my UnRAID servers have failed catastrophically and I am struggling to get either back online Thanks

Transferring licence to different USB key [Solved]
@JorgeB I'm hoping you can help. I have only just got round to transferring my licence from the decommissioned server to my new one.... I downloaded the Pro.key file from the decommissioned server, but cant find any "import" facility on the new server. Unfortunately the trial has expired and gone beyond the 15 day extension entitlement period... so, it now wont start. Can you tell me where I need to place the Pro.key file in order to blacklist the old key? Thanks

Checking 'failed' hard disk
Good advice... and I do the same. The server I want to add this to has 6 x 6Tb Purple disks and has been running for 2 months now... one observation from the DiskSpeed screen above... I noticed on the server with 6 x 6Tb disks the speed trace of all the disks is identical... which is reassuring... however the screen shot above is from a server at home which has 4 identical 4Tb RED disks plus a few unassigned devices, such as the 6Tb disk I am testing. However on the trace above, the 3 x 4Tb RED disks in the array have identical traces, BUT the exact same 4Tb RED disk which is assigned parity disk is the blue line immediately below the trace for the 3 array disks. Is it normal for the parity drive to DiskSpeed slower, or should I be concerned about imminent failure? I've never used the DiskSpeed docker until your recommendation above... so am not sure what to expect. Thanks

Checking 'failed' hard disk
So, preclear has finished - do you think this is enough to prove that this dosk is OK to add into my array? I've pasted the results below and as far as I can tell it all looks good and I think the problem the last owner suffered was because of a cable/controller problem rather than a disk problem... The top line (sdh) relates to the 6Tb drive

Checking 'failed' hard disk
I just checked again and its still progressing, although has slowed quite a lot from the early speeds... one thing I have noticed, which was the same on the first check above but I didnt spot, or include it in the screen shot... the CRC Error Count is listed as 17130... I am not entirely sure what this means, but am guessing 17130 errors is not a good thing? Although my understanding is that this was probably caused by a connection error in the last owners machine. I think I'm right in saying that as long as this doesnt increase in my installation it will mean everything is good?

Checking 'failed' hard disk
Thanks - I'll let it run a couple of cycles and see that the speed stays at about 200MB/s - hopefully if it can sustain 2 clear cycles it should be OK to add to the array. I havent seen DiskSpeed docker, so will have a look at that and try it too... I'm not sure what sort of transfer rate is normal, but 200-240 seems pretty OK from memory.

Checking 'failed' hard disk
Hi All I have bought a 'failed' 6Tb Western Digital Red SATA disk, very cheap!! The seller advertised it as faulty, saying it was very slow booting up into Windows 10 - he said it would take up to 10 times longer than it should... but said that there was never any data loss or corruption and that CrystalDisk reports it as healthy and is unable to identify any errors. The reason I bought it is that it has over 1yr left on the manufacturers warranty... I thought I would run 2 cycles of preclear to see if it shows any signs of failure and to see what the transfer rate shows as, before using it... obviously if it is failing I need to be able to prove this to get a warranty return started. So, preclear has been running for nearly 4 hours and the log, so far, shows; I wondered whether anyone can advise what sort of transfer rates should be seen as 'normal' and what to look for to see if there is a problem which I can prove to the manufacturer? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

[Support] binhex - DelugeVPN
Well, I'm still struggling to find the cause of the slow speed... The only thing I havent been able to try from the FAQ is disabling UDP as I installed the ITconfig Egg for 2.x, wrongly, expecting it to appear as a tickbox somewhere in the WebUI... but it didnt... so, I am wondering whether binhex-qbittorrentvpn might be worth a go? Ideally I want to get this working properly in the next couple of days as my seedbox invoice is due payment in a week and to save money (as I am paying for a DC host plus a seedbox) I would like to get this all working on my DC UnRAID machine

[Support] binhex - DelugeVPN
Thanks - I am just working my way through the list and wanted to check my calculations... and the terminology in the FAQ you linked to. It says... So, working on 1 Mbit/s = 125 KiB/s, so 500 Mbit/s connection speed = 62500 KiB/s - so would I be right in setting the "Maximum Download Speed (KiB/s)" and "Maximum Upload Speed (KiB/s)" in the Deluge preferences to 46875 (75% maximum). I'm just checking I havent got bits & bytes muddled up anywhere

[Support] binhex - DelugeVPN
Thanks @binhex I will take a look, but as I get a similarly low speed when the VPN is turned off, I was wondering whether its a more generic configuration error rather than a VPN issue.

[Support] binhex - DelugeVPN
Hi All... I have just migrated my setup from a remote seedbox to using a local UnRAID server in a UK data centre. I am not convinced I am getting the correct speed using the great Binhex - DelugeVPN docker. My connection is around 500Mb/s up and down (confirmed using SpeedTest Tracker)... My DelugeVPN download speed seems to be 10Mb/s-30Mb/s which is not as good as I would expect to see but my real issue is the upload speed seems very slow. I have seen it get to about 18-20Mb/s - but this was only for a few seconds and then it drops to a few kb/s... I am using PIA VPN and have tried to find a list of endpoints which support port forwarding, but this doesnt seem to exist anymore and on their website it says using the desktop client settings to request end points which support port forwarding and if you try to connect to one which doesnt support port-forwarding it will warn you. So, as far as I know, Netherlands and France both support port-forwarding. So when I installed DelugeVPN, I copied the corresponding OVPN file, PEM file and Security Certificate for Netherlands to /appdata/binhex-delugevpn/openvpn folder. I tested the public IP from the container using curl ifconfig.io This proved the public IP corresponded to an IP address in The Netherlands. When I realised that the speed was so slow, I carried out the same tests using the openvpn files for France and get the same results. So, next step I tried was setting Container Variable VPN_ENABLED to 'no'. I checked that the docker's public IP was my actual IP and the DelugeVPN speeds remain really slow. Am I missing something, or can someone offer some help in working out why the slow speeds? I am sure that this should perform better than this so appreciate any help. Thanks

Reallocated sector ct & Faied USB key
Thanks @itimpi /dev/sdi is a SATA disk which I use purely for CCTV recordings, so it is not part of the array as it is a sacrificial drive which is permanently being written to... so, if its failing I'll just replace it. I was more concerned about the error showing on the Flash drive as I have never had a flash drive error. Ironically because of the age (10yrs +) of the USB disks I am using, I have just replaced the one in a rack server I have at a datacentre. The key in this machine is even older and does occasionally fail to boot and I have to reboot the server to get it to boot into UnRAID - so as a precaution I have ordered an 8Gb USB 2 key to be here tomorrow. I will try following the process mentioned above when I get a chance tomorrow just to see what the outcome is. Thanks again

Reallocated sector ct & Faied USB key
Morning guys I needed to reboot my home UnRAID machine today and received a flurry of concerning alerts... Event: Unraid device dev2 SMART health [5] Subject: Warning [UNRAID] - reallocated sector ct is 177 Description: MB2000EAZNL_WMAY04119333_350014ee003203541 (dev2) Importance: warning Event: Unraid device dev2 SMART health [187] Subject: Warning [UNRAID] - reported uncorrect is 1020 Description: MB2000EAZNL_WMAY04119333_350014ee003203541 (dev2) Importance: warning Event: Unraid device dev2 SMART health [199] Subject: Warning [UNRAID] - udma crc error count is 13 Description: MB2000EAZNL_WMAY04119333_350014ee003203541 (dev2) Importance: warning Event: USB flash drive failure Subject: Alert [UNRAID] - USB drive is not read-write Description: ProductCode (sdc) Importance: alert I am guessing I have a rapidly failing dev2 as I had these 3 warnings by email in the order above? Also a failed USB key (?) - It has booted into UnRAID, which surprises me if the key has failed! I have checked on Connect and it shows the last backup as this morning when I shut the server down; I am assuming these are 2 completely separate faults and a replacement HDD and USB key will fix things? If I get a replacement USB key, am I better off copying the 'failed' one or restoring from Connect? Diags are attached. Thanks unraid-diagnostics-20231218-1023.zip

Cant login to new server using SSH
Hi all I am still setting up my new server and trying to copy data between servers on same LAN using Rsync. But, using, PuTTy I get an error when I try to SSH into the new server - helpful old windows just says "connection refused". I have rebooted the server, but get the same error. I dont recall ever having to enable anything to allow SSH access on other servers - has something changed, or can anyone advise how to reset SSH access to default? Diags attached... thanks in advance phoenix-diagnostics-20231205-1124.zip

USB disks keep disappearing [SOLVED]
Removed the suspect card and everything else is working correctly now - so looks like it was a failed card

USB disks keep disappearing [SOLVED]
Thanks @SimonF - yes, its a great plugin - before I found this it used to be a pain trying to correctly passthrough to the host VM. Interestingly enough I now cant see another USB disk I use, when its plugged in to its USB card, or even the port on the motherboard of the physical server - so I am about to removed the two extra USB cards and start from scratch - but the way this failed makes me think its hardware too... so as its only a few weeks old I will send it back. Many thanks for the reply - I will leave this open till I have confirmed its a dead card... just in case.

USB disks keep disappearing [SOLVED]
Hi All I have only just discovered "USB Manager" from SimonF - it has changed the way I use USB devices with UnRAID completely 😍 However, I have today had a problem and have decided it must be a failed USB card... but thought I would ask in case anyone can advise... I bought a 'cheap-ish' PCIe to USB-C 3.1 (10Gbps) card, so my transfer rate to my USB disk would be better than the onboard USB. I have a Windows VM which I use to create a daily backup to an external 4Tb USB SSD. I set it up a couple of months ago and it has been great - till the last few days. It seems that the USB disk 'disappears' from the Windows VM mid-backup. When I look in USB Manager the disk couldnt be seen. So after messing about I rebooted the whole UnRAID server and when it was up again the disk was visible. So I started the backup again and within a few seconds it had failed and the disk couldn't be seen. So, I changed the cable and moved the PCIe card to a spare slot and after a reboot I now dont see the USB SSD at all in USB Manager. The LED is lit on the drive, so it has power from the port - but just cant be seen. I am about to return the card and order another - but thought I would see if anyone has any other ideas? This is the card I am using... PCIe -> USB3.1 card Diags are attached. If it is a failed card I may get a 20Gbps version and wondered if anyone has any observations or comments on this one... PCIe -> USB3.2 card Thanks in advace. unraid-diagnostics-20231204-1545.zip

Unmountable cache disk (Solved)
Ah, fair enough - at least its working again now and luckily it was not in production

Unmountable cache disk (Solved)
Agreed, although I'm using an HPE Proliant DL380 and have updated the chassis from G8 to G9 (before putting the machine in service), hence the swap in RAID card. In case anyone else with a Proliant reads this, the best set up I have found is to set the RAID card to HBA mode first Interesting you say swapping HBA controllers is not an issue as the G8 chassis had a P420i in HBA mode and the G9 chassis uses the p840ar in HBA mode too - so in this instance it was just swapping an HBA controller and I still lost the cache disk!

Unmountable cache disk (Solved)
Thanks guys... formatted and re-enabled and now missing shares are re-created. Learning point - be careful swapping RAID cards... luckily this was a test server

Unmountable cache disk (Solved)
So, Docker disabled itself when the cache disk disappeared and I have disabled VM Manager, as suggested by @trurl. How do I recreate the missing information, /appdata, /system. /domains, etc, so I can start with an 'as new' system again? Thanks
