  1. Just update to the latest version of UD before you update to RC1 and reboot.
  2. UD does not do any disk io on RC1. It UD was uninstalled, mounted disks are unmounted. See this: If you don't set up cache dirs correctly, all mounted UD devices could be cached causing a lot of disk io.
  3. You might want to take a look at this:
  4. This feature will be available in 6.9RC2. This feature is available in 6.9RC1.
  5. You need to update UD. The vfat file system does not respect the Linux attributes, hence the error.
  6. There doesn't appear to be a file system on those disks that Linux recognizes.
  7. There is nothing in the log that shows any attempt to mount a disk with UD. How are you trying to mount the disks?
  8. It's sdi and there is no sdi in your system. I do not see the disk in the list of disks in your system. It's acting like the disk was removed before it was unmounted, but I don't see anywhere that the disk was mounted. That disk or the USB port has a problem. You probably will need to reboot the server to clear this up. Did you have this disk in some sort of a drive bay?
  9. Update plugin and please mark this issue as solved.

    Disk Spin up

So it looks like the unassigned disks got sorted out.
  11. Not surprised. Tom has a full plate at the moment. I prefer UD to do its own thing with unmounts.

    Disk Spin up

Ok. I think this is an Unraid related issue, Try one more thing for me. Remove the UD plugin, shutdown the array, and then see if the unassigned devices get straightened out.

    Disk Spin up

I need to see the output exactly as I asked in the previous post. Don't install or uninstall UD. Just run the three commands and show the results. UD doesn't matter in this case. The before and after results tells me where the issue lies.

    Disk Spin up

Post the output of this command: cat /usr/local/emhttp/state/devs.ini The devices Unraid sees as unassigned are listed in this file. Then run this command and show the output from the above command: /usr/local/sbin/emcmd 'cmdHotplug=apply' Once I see the output from the devs.ini file before and after, I will know where to go with this issue.

    Disk Spin up

For a test, remove UD and see if the same thing happens.
  16. If you are seeing unexplained disk activity, it may be due to cache dirs caching all folders. For those of you using the Cache Dirs plugin, you need to specify folders to be included so all folders do not get included automatically. This can also apply to pool disks. It's really the best practice to specify the included folders so you control what is being cached.
  17. If you are seeing unexplained disk or remote share activity, it may be due to cache dirs caching all folders. For those of you using the Cache Dirs plugin, you need to specify folders to be included so UD mounted disks and shares do not get included automatically. This can also apply to pool disks. It's really the best practice to specify the included folders so you control what is actually being cached.
  18. I see no attempt in the logs to unmount the share. You need to change the Cache Dirs settings: Dec 13 12:22:25 GD07 cache_dirs: Setting Included dirs: Dec 13 12:22:25 GD07 cache_dirs: Setting Excluded dirs: Time\,Machine,appdata,backup,backup_misc,pictures_archive,restore,syslog,system Dec 13 12:22:25 GD07 cache_dirs: min_disk_idle_before_restarting_scan_sec=60 Dec 13 12:22:25 GD07 cache_dirs: scan_timeout_sec_idle=150 Dec 13 12:22:25 GD07 cache_dirs: scan_timeout_sec_busy=30 Dec 13 12:22:25 GD07 cache_dirs: scan_timeout_sec_stable=30 Dec 13 12:22:25 GD07 cache_dirs: frequency_of_full_depth_scan_sec=604800 Dec 13 12:22:25 GD07 cache_dirs: ERROR: excluded directory 'Time\ Machine' does not exist. Instead of excluding folders, you need to specify what folders to include. Any disk mounted by UD will be included in the cached folders automatically.
  19. New release of UD: - The remote shares mounted at /mnt/remotes/ is now enabled for all versions of Unraid. If you use the /mnt/disks/ mount point for remote mounted shares in your VMs or Docker Containers, you need to read the recommended post at the top of this forum. - Change the device name nomenclature to meet Unraid standards. i.e. 'dev1' is now shown as 'Dev 1'. It now matches with the Dashboard. - Fix disk spin up/down spinner on the wrong disk icon. - Added 'Cancel' buttons to adding a remote share and formatting a disk dialogs. - Update disk spinning status when a change is made. i.e. disk spin up/down on 'Array Operation' will refresh the UD page. - Update remote server status on a 15 second timer to ping remote servers and update remote server online status more often. This is only done when the UD webpage is displayed. - Add a spin down disk option to the rc.unassigned script so you can spin down a disk and have Unraid track the correct spinning status. See the UD help for how to use this feature.
