  1. Thanks. Just added a comment below #vfs_recycle_end: #local master configuration and then the code below that. Probably not really needed for this file, but sometimes they come in handy when trying to find my changes.
  2. I have multiple [global] sections in mine, one of which is managed by recycle bin. [global] security = USER guest account = nobody public = yes guest ok = yes map to guest = bad user [global] domain master = yes preferred master = yes os level = 255 [crypt] path = /mnt/crypt valid users = Rick write list = Rick force user = root create mask = 0711 directory mask = 0711 browsable = no guest ok = no #vfs_recycle_start #Recycle bin configuration [global] vfs objects = recycle recycle:repository = %P/.Recycle.Bin/%S recycle:directory_mode = 0777 recycle:keeptree = Yes recycle:touch = Yes recycle:touch_mtime = Yes recycle:versions = Yes recycle:exclude = *.tmp recycle:exclude_dir = .Recycle.Bin #vfs_recycle_end Thanks. Looks like I can just paste in the smb local master code after recycle bin.
  3. Just because you have local master:yes does not mean that unRaid IS the local master. Merely that it will advertise itself to be available. All the plugin does is throw an icon next to the IP address on the main screen indicating if unRAID currently is the local master. It does do one more thing. It displays on the 'Settings', 'SMB', 'Workgroup' tab, the name of the current Local Master. If you have never had a problem, that is great. The problem is that SMB is an evolving protocol and it has two different 'forks' (may not be the best term) --- MS and Linux/UNIX. They are almost identical but MS definitely goes its own direction and SMB tries to follow. The election is a convoluted process and it is possible to influence the likelihood that a particular computer (or OS) will 'win'! MS has set up each new version of Windows so that the computer with the most recent Windows OS will win. (All other things equal, a Win10 machine will always win over a Win7 machine!) (A secondary problem MS made some security or other 'enhancements' in Win10 that have been causing problems for some users not be able finding their unRAID servers!) The one true blessing in all of this is that a Windows for Workgroup 3.1 computer will still work on a SMB network. You can make use of 'trick' that MS uses to bias the election in favor of your unRAID server by adding a file called smb-extra.conf to your Config folder on your unRAID flash drive which contains the following code: [global] domain master = yes preferred master = yes os level = 255 I tried to add this file only to discover that it already existed. Contents- #vfs_recycle_start #Recycle bin configuration [global] vfs objects = extd_audit recycle syslog only = No log level = 0 vfs:0 recycle:repository = %P/.Recycle.Bin/ recycle:directory_mode = 0777 recycle:keeptree = Yes recycle:touch = Yes recycle:touch_mtime = Yes recycle:versions = Yes recycle:exclude = *.tmp recycle:exclude_dir = .Recycle.Bin #vfs_recycle_end Can I just add to the file? Something like this- [global] #local master configuration domain master = yes preferred master = yes os level = 255 #vfs_recycle_start #Recycle bin configuration vfs objects = extd_audit recycle syslog only = No log level = 0 vfs:0 recycle:repository = %P/.Recycle.Bin/ recycle:directory_mode = 0777 recycle:keeptree = Yes recycle:touch = Yes recycle:touch_mtime = Yes recycle:versions = Yes recycle:exclude = *.tmp recycle:exclude_dir = .Recycle.Bin #vfs_recycle_end Not sure how future changes to recycle bin might effect this?
  4. There's a discussion of the pros/cons of the various flex dockers here. Correct. Needo docker uses plex pass. Awesome thanks, working out the last few kinks in my PMS setup There's a discussion of the pros/cons of the various plex dockers here.
  5. Not sure where the 8 years comes from. I replaced the batteries about 12 months ago. Shutdown is occurring when runtime drops to about 5 minutes. I've done some tests before activating APCUPSD on the unRaid and 5 minutes seems to be a good estimate of the actual runtime. Never ran the batteries all the way dead before plugging the UPS back in, but the charge dropped to 50% in a little less than 3 minutes. I'll try setting some very low value in the blank fields and see if that makes a difference. Maybe there is a default runtime of 5 minutes. I notice that the "Runtime left" value displayed near the top of the settings page turns red when it's less than 5 minutes. BTW- How can I reset the battery date?
  6. 2 computers 1 router 1 ethernet switch 1 cable modem. It all adds up.
  7. perhaps someone could at least verify that I have unRaid configured properly to run on the UPS for 90 seconds in the event of a power failure. I tested this again today and got exactly the same result as before. unRaid shutdown immediately. The log shows that the minimum remaining run time was exceeded. It shouldn't even be configured.
  8. I think the best solution would be for LimeTech to host it. They could modify it as necessary for 6.2+. Add graphics as necessary. Etc. You could share it on Dropbox. The free account is 2GB. Would still have a problem with people being able to find it though.
  9. If you have Community Applications you'll see a tab for it in the webgui.
  10. My unRaid shut itself down today and sent 3 notifications. The problem is that there was no power failure. I've attached a screenshot of my UPS settings. Also attached the appropriate log file. I can see in the log starting at line 2509 that there were several hiccups in the power. Each lasted about 1 second. None were nearly long enough to reach the 90 seconds threshold required to initiate a shutdown. It should be nearly impossible for this threshold to be reached. I have a UPS with enough runtime to last about 5 minutes and a generator that will come online automatically if power is out for more than 15 seconds. The only scenarios that should require a shutdown would be if the generator failed to start for some reason (it didn't) or if the branch circuit breaker feeding my unRaid tripped (didn't). I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I've got something set wrong? I'm hoping someone with a little more system knowledge can look at the logs and see exactly what initiated the shutdown. syslog-20151222-124015.txt.zip
  11. See a few posts back. Note, it isn't mandatory, unless you prefer to see proper display of the parity check dates. Thanks. Copy the file to the "Extras" folder?
  12. If I update to 6.1.6 which hot fix file do I need to install?
  13. I'm seeing the same issue. Just getting a blank page with Plex (LT version) and Unbalance logs.
  14. I'm not having any trouble viewing user shares in Safari on my system. I don't think it's a problem with 6.1.4.
  15. Not sure when this started happening but after updating to unRaid 6.1.4 I noticed that I can no longer start the array from Margarita. I can stop it without issue but when I set the switch back to "On" nothing happens.
  16. More hidden Polls. Always liked Hide and Seek.
  17. Yes. Got the message prior to the unRaid boot. Had to use IPMI to resume the startup. Would it be best to run an extended test for all the drives or would the short test be sufficient?
  18. I rebooted after updating to v6.1.4. The reboot was paused due to a SMART error. The message was something like "SMART failure disk 1 press F1 to continue". Can't remember it exactly. After proceeding with the reboot I ran an extended test on Disk 1 which it passed. Now I'm not sure how to handle this. I've attached the Smart Report. Hopefully someone can give me some advice. brunnhilde-smart-20151119-1336.zip
  19. Yes. Unraid tunables tester can help you tweak at little more speed out of v6.
  20. I'm sure Crash Plan works great. I use Carbon Copy Cloner. Mount the flash drive on my desktop computer and run CCC on a regular schedule to backup the flash to my desktop. Just don't backup to your array. You could wind up in a situation where you need to use the backup and can't access it.
  21. Yes. You can still read/write to the array while the script is running.
  22. Does the nr_requests script need to be added to the Go file while we wait for the next update?
  23. What about ATA version= ATA/ATAPI-7 T13/1532D revision 1? This is what my oldest HD's are using.
  24. I'm not still using the SAS2LP. Replaced it with an H310 (thank you OpenToe). But the attached devices stayed the same for both. 2- 1TB Hitachi HDS721010KLA330 2- 2TB Hitachi HDS721010KLA330 1- 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001-9YN166 1- 4TB Hitachi HDS724040ALE640 2- 4TB WDReds WDC WD40EFRX-68WT0N0 Was getting parity check speeds <35 MB/s average with the SAS2LP.
