I dont get it. Since some days the adapter seems to be away (in tvheadend). I use latest eleec unraid version. Didnt changed anything. If i ssh and look for /dev/dvb/ i can see adapter0... i added "device" pointing to /dev/dvb , like before, like i said, i didnt changed anything. What else can i check? unraid-server-diagnostics-20180620-1849.zip

Only thingi found was: Just change it to yes, or what? (doesnt make sense for me) edit: okay it seems to be right, i try it. edit2: Yea, it seem to reduce the idle (when im not logged in) CPU from 20-30% to 10-15%, but i didnt notice any performance increase, but it looks better... Watt is also the same. (75w) While logged in i would say about 5%, or no change at all. Does HPET effect anything? I read about it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Precision_Event_Timer) , but i guess, thats to technical for me. And i dont understand, some ppl say it gets activated anyway onle when a application needs it, doesnt matter what u put in bios (enable/Disable). So why does it make a difference in the first place?

Just one little tip, dont trust manufactures who make "PRO" and "RED" and "ENTERPRISE" SSDs/HDDs. There is no noticeable difference between them. Backplaze is the only company i know (https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-stats-for-2017/ | https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-stats-for-q1-2018/ ) which reports hdd failures, they advise to NOT USE special hdds/sdds because there is not nitceable difference. Save the money (!) For myself i use 2 Samsung_SSD_850_EVO_500GB since ~3 years without problems 24/7. The time where price make a difference is over. Wear Level count it says 95, so i guess (https://superuser.com/questions/1037644/samsung-ssd-wear-leveling-count-meaning) i only used 5% till now. Im happy. I might be wrong, but i never seen any data (execpt from manufactures) who prove any noticeable difference, exept the price.

How u actually changed the HPET Thing? Set OS to other? One ppl in the thread linked said that this was just a quick fix and stopped working!?

Didnt read everything, but i use a windows 10 Vm every day. Do you pinned the CPUs? I found when pinning the CPUs (so e.g. only use 2 out of 4) i had big cpu usage, after chaning it back to non pinnged (using all 4 cores) I can run all my stuff (many dockers and plugins and VM) with 10-20%. Anyway important is that ur vm has enaught RAM (atleast 4gb for windows 10 i would say) (and unraid also, depends on what u use unraid for) - but u should always have enaught free RAM, strange things happens when u run out of RAM.

For me it works now perfect. No problems at all. But to archive this i installed/removed this docker atleast 3-4 times. IMPORTANT is that you change inside pi the interface to eth0 (settings -> DNS)

Ok, i monitored it via tail -f inside the docker itself. Dont seem to work that way. (but it was listed somewhere on their site) When i execute the cmd, will it tell me just the current log (whats happening atm) or will it show everything what happend? Im asking bc it shows me 198293123 lines of text. So it might be in some sort of loop, or just the log from the last days (or whatever)

I dont even know where to start. There are no errors, its just not possible to login. That it hammers others apps is known and also reported since months. I dont even know if that is the actual problem.

Such a shame. This docker becomes unresponsive every now and then. It seems to be because omby is hammering plex with more then 1 film a sec while it sync, so plex or omby, or both get unresponsive (who prog it that way, srsly?) In the time it syncs, which takes some time if you have big library, you cant login... no errors in log. Sorry, forget to report back. After i added only the directory which i need, everything works perfectly for months.

My location is perfect for hiding the rpi, i have multiple buildings, big garden, cat house... i could even put it underground, if wifi works. Manual moving everything and encryption is not really a thing i wanna do... i guess i wait until limetech implement it. or someone write a script for it... free space/hdds i have atleast.

I mean it this way. e.g. i bought one of the first intel nucs, they have incredible crap wifi. Thats why i asked about exp with it. I never had a pi (bc i never found a usefull scenario for it). I guess no one will ever come to the idea to search for the hidden key somewhere on my ground, power can be obtained. 100% secure and 100% automatic is not possible, i guess. But i think its a good idea: cheap, easy, and adds a whole new security layer on top. Only question left is, is it now possible to create encrypted array, without deleting everything?

Thanks. How good is the wifi? I mean, is it normal wifi, like, if i put my phone and test where wlan is working, will pi have the same results or is it worser? Has anyone exp with this small pis? For my case would the small one perfect, because i can hide it perfect somewhere, but i could ofc just get the "better" one

Cheap as possible, but wlan. Just needs to run a SMB service and SSH. Does the pi zero works for what i want to do? edit: doesnt seem to have wlan!? Do you still need to format all your data to enable encryption?

My biggest concern is would be if someone takes the server with them. So if i put a rasp pi somewhere in the network (via wlan) they have the hardware, but cant do anything with it. Can someone suggest a cheap pi with enclosure for dirty places?

I understaned it this way he used the 6 digits to protect his accounts? But ofc, more security is always good. To encrypt, do all data need to be deleted? I would really like to encrypt my whole unraid system and only be bootable with e.g. smartphone near, so if "someone" takes the server, it cant be accessed. Or maybe a rasperian pi somewhere in the wlan hidden somewhere. Sounds like a good plan.
