  1. I'm right there with you. My unRaid server is sporting an underutilized i7 and has been flawless in handling Roon including multi-channel. The only issue is being able to revert to a previously saved update. I think the permissions issue looks like a hot trail.
  2. Welcome to the club. Has anyone experimented with the port settings to see if that will fix the issue?
  3. Ok, I found a check box to delete saved cache. Once I rebooted, I was able to select just one cache and then xfs appeared. I was able to reformat.
  4. Okay, so Samsung replaced my 512GB 960 Pro with a 970 Pro. I really want to just start over and use the XFS file system, however, the only options I see are "Auto", "btrfs" and "btrfs - encrpted". What am I doing wrong? It shows 2 caches slots when I stop the array and it won't allow me to make it just one.
  5. Thanks, I was afraid that might be the case. It made me realize that I need to take backing up my cache files more seriously. The irony is I have Appdata Backup / Restore V2 installed and never used it.
  6. Thanks for the clarification! Here is the diagnostic file. Does this look OK? tower-diagnostics-20200716-1635.zip Given my concern about the SSD, I tried to copy files over using the "Replace A Cache Drive" instructions. I was able to copy everything off the server to a separate hard drive with the exception of my "Windows 10" (vdisk1.img) which is 75.2 GB. I got this error for that file. Not sure if my Windows 10 VM is recoverable at this point or what my next steps should be? Here is the full diagnostic file. tower-diagnostics-20200716-1707.zip
  7. Thanks! Hopefully, I added this to the right location. Should I be concerned with this: "EDAC sbridge: Failed to register device with error -19." ? Also wondering if the cache media and data integrity errors are an issue? tower-diagnostics-20200715-1110.zip
  8. When I started up unRAID I got the following email message - unRAID Status: Warning [TOWER] - Cache pool BTRFS missing device(s) Event: Unraid Cache disk message Subject: Warning [TOWER] - Cache pool BTRFS missing device(s) Description: Samsung_SSD_960_PRO_512GB_S3EWNX0J411884E (nvme0n1) Importance: warning I ran a diagnostics when I first turned on unRAID. I then ran a Scrub and there were a large number (over 1K) of uncorrectable errors I then ran another diagnostics Both are attached. I am using unRaid version 6.8.3. I am using 2 dockers, binhex-krusader and steefdebruijn/docker-roonserver. I also have a Windows 10 VM. I am using the following apps: CA Appdata Backup/Restore v2, CA Auto Update, CA Fix Common Problems, Community Applications, Dynamix Local Master, Dynamix SSD Trim, Dynamix System Buttons, Dynamix System Info, Dynamix System Stats, Dynamix System Temp, NerdPack GUI, Preclear Disk, Unassigned Devices & Unassigned Devices Plus (Addon). Here is my equipment list. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. tower-diagnostics-20200714-0831.zip tower-diagnostics-20200714-0846.zip
  9. I decided to run my Windows 10 VM after not having used it for over 8 months. It hung during startup with the spinning circle of dots. As additional information, I have had problems with my roon docker-server not being able to restore a back up file . Roon works fine until I have to update or try to restore a backup. That is what led me to try my Windows 10 VM as a Roon core. I also got this error: "Tower kernel: print_req_error: critical medium error, dev nvme0n1". I am now wondering if there is something wrong with my Samsung 960 SSD? Here is my equipment list. I am using unRaid version 6.8.3 and a Windows 10 VM which had worked perfectly in the past. I am using 2 dockers, binhex-krusader and steefdebruijn/docker-roonserver. I am using the following apps: CA Appdata Backup/Restore v2, CA Auto Update, CA Fix Common Problems, Community Applications, Dynamix Local Master, Dynamix SSD Trim, Dynamix System Buttons, Dynamix System Info, Dynamix System Stats, Dynamix System Temp, NerdPack GUI, Preclear Disk, Unassigned Devices & Unassigned Devices Plus (Addon). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. tower-diagnostics-20200712-2148.zip
  10. Has anyone been able to restore backups with roon server on unraid? If so, would you mind sharing your process. Whenever I select restore back up, it loads the back up but then looses connection to the roon server. I then end up having to rename my roonserver to "roonserver_old" and start over again without the restored backup. Thanks, Mike
  11. Hi Drew, Apparently I missed your earlier post on VM in this thread. I have been having the same issue you describe. Thanks for being persistent on this. I will try your latest install process and see what happens. Thanks, Mike
  12. I only start up my unRaid server when using it for my home theater. I have recently been simplifying operations by using a Harmony Elite remote. Is it possible to remotely start up my unRaid server? WOL? Plug-in? I only need access within my LAN.
  13. I have several shares labeled as music, music1 and music2. In order to consolidate my music for Roon, I moved music1 and music2 subtier to music. Is it ok to move folders that are defined as shares?
  14. Hi, I have a RoonServer docker and I am using my cache drive for my Roon appdata. I am trying to remove some older files and I get a message indicating I need permission. I remove files all the time from my other shares so I am not sure what's going on here. I use the exact same settings as my other shares. I also turn the docker off. Any thoughts?
  15. Hi Folks, I am trying to restore my Roon backup. They have asked me to delete the .restore_old directory from /data/RoonServer_Old/.restore_old which is in my unraid "appdata" share. However, it keeps saying I have to have permission to do that even though I have given read/write access and can open the folder in file explorer and change file names. Any thoughts on what's causing this?
  16. I have several shares "music 1", "music 2", "music 3" that hold music media. Is there an easy way to make a single share called "music" that has these shares as sub tier folders without having to read and write the files over again?
  17. I never specified a port setting. This is what worked for me: "I had to set privileged to on and change network from bridged to host."
  18. I am using Roon Remote on my iPad to access the core which is now up and running on my unRaid server. I had to set privileged to on and change network from bridged to host. This is my first docker, so I'm am not completely confident in the mapping I did above but everything seems to be working now. I read somewhere that it is best to remap "backup" someplace other than appdata. Is it OK to map it to my ISO share even though it is "secure"? Will it write to it?
  19. I realized that even though it says the docker is started that there was no volume or port mappings. It is in "bridge" mode. I now understand that I must volume map to the app. I assume that one does that by selecting "Add another Path, Port, Variable, Label or Device". Are there updated instructions somewhere for this? At the Github site: https://github.com/steefdebruijn/docker-roonserver it shows VOLUME [ "/ app" , "/ data" , "/ music" , "/ backup" ]. Is this what I should put in "Container Path"? What about name? Edit: I mapped "/app" and "/data" to the appdata share from the pull down menu and "/music" to my music share. Assuming I am on the right path here, for "/backup" is it OK to map it to my ISO share even though it is "secure"? I left name blank. I am now seeing that Roon files are in the appdata share. However there is no port shown.
  20. OK, I was able to install the docker listed above and it shows it in the docker tab as "started". However, it doesn't seem to have installed the actual Roon Server from what I can tell. Is it necessary to download the Linux based Roon Server (Easy Install Script) from their site and place it somewhere in my shares?
  21. Thanks for that. I got this message when I asked about a roon docker for unraid: "We haven't published any Docker images, but a member of our community did: https://github.com/steefdebruijn/docker-roonserver"
