  1. Take a look here: https://github.com/nextcloud/updater/issues/135
  2. After updating Nextcloud, login to the WebUI and navigate to "Settings - Overview". This is where you verify that the update was successful. There is a possibility there will be some errors present from the install. If you see either of these errors, simply run their prospective (highlighted) commands in the Nextcloud console, without quotes. The last line of output from running the above "missing indices" command will be: oc_properties table updated successfully. The last line of output from running the above "missing columns" command will be: Comments table updated successfully. At this point simply refresh the page "Settings - Overview" in the Nextcloud WebUI to clear the errors.
  3. Just want to share in case anyone else had an issue recently when updating via command line. Previously, I would execute the commands in the first post for manual update in the Nextcloud console by simply copying and pasting the full command, one after the other. Today, when updating Nextcloud, I pasted this command in the Nextcloud console: docker exec -it nextcloud occ maintenance:mode --on And received this error: sh: docker: not found Then I noticed the Nextcloud console header: So, I removed "docker exec -it nextcloud" from each command, and the update process worked flawlessly. There must have been a change recently, because the last time I updated via command line was within the last month or so, and I did not have to modify each command when updating via the Nextcloud console, but I did have to do that today. It appears the commands were updated about 21 hours ago as of this post. So, the new commands appear to be written expecting one to execute them via the unRAID command line, instead of the Nextcloud console.
  4. Thanks Squid for your quick reply. I'm running unRAID 6.8.3 also, and CA 05.27.2020. Hmmm? I can confirm it is not working correctly for me. Maybe a reboot will resolve the issue. I'll report back if it does.
  5. I'm on the latest CA. When searching the app's tab, the searches would auto-complete. Looking at new apps today, noticed that the searches do not auto-complete. Is this a change or a bug? Thanks.
  6. That makes sense. I haven't looked into it, but wondering whether you could add a video card for the VM and still use onboard for video transcodes?
  7. Curious if there is a reason you opted for the i9-9900 vs going E22xxG Xeon?
  8. I'm loving this board/ram. Excellent results. I went with an E2278G from Provantage. No complaints. For cooler, I chose the Arctic Freezer 33 and added a second 120mm fan. It just clears the RAM and just clears my 4U Supermicro chassis lid. Provides a good amount of cooling. Very quiet. With having a bunch of users, I would recommend getting a Plex pass so you can take advantage of HW transcoding with igpu (QuickSync); it's amazing.
  9. Very true. I'm very young with running this board, so just asking the questions. When I swapped this board into my server, I went through all the BIOS settings, Googling as needed. I did find a few settings that were causing issues with other unRAID users (not this board specifically), but that's what prompted me to ask.
  10. @Hoopster have you looked at BIOS settings in relation to high temp warnings?
  11. I'll chime in. Running the 1.80 BMC and L2.21A BIOS. Uptime 9 days. No issues so far. Motherboard temp fluctuates between 24C-28C.
  12. With this motherboard having just 5 fan headers and wanting to run multiple fans off each header, I checked with William who said that each fan header is rated for about 2.5A, in case anyone else was curious.
  13. Plex hardward transcoding (QuickSync) enabled and persisted in the go file, thanks to @techsperion for a wonderful guide located here. I have four things to finish my new setup: 1. Get clear about the "Auxiliary Panel Header" shown on page 31 in the manual. It doesn't match my board. On my board, the 4-pin "Speaker" pins are located where page 31 shows "System Fault" pins and 1/2 of "Locater LED" pins. I might have to reach out to ASRock support, unless someone here knows more. 2. Figure out fan speeds in my SC846 chassis. While the stock 80 mm chassis fans are PWM fans, they run at full speed. So, I might have to swap them out for different fans. I usually use ARCTIC PWM/PST. 3. Make a few custom power cables for my SSD cache drives when my Molex connectors/pins arrive. I currently have something jerry-rigged. 4. Install a USB 2.0 port to the onboard USB 2.0 header, when it arrives. Thank you again @Hoopster for recommending this board/ram combo. The smaller footprint (mATX) gives me more room in the chassis for cabling, etc.
  14. Thank you @techsperion for a fantastic guide. I now have QuickSync enabled on my new server. Quick and easy. Your main post in this thread should have more than 13 likes.
  15. My E3C246D4U arrived with the latest BMC (1.80)/BIOS (P2.30). I just updated the BIOS to L2.21A to enable igpu for Plex transcoding, per @Hoopster and others. Success! I love ASRock's Instant Flash. It makes flashing super easy. Now, I'm going through all the BIOS settings and having to look up a bunch to figure out the "correct" values. I sure wish motherboard manufacturers would provide more detail for each setting in the BIOS, though suppose these are largely for IT Pros, which I'm not. Anyway, when all setup, I'm going to watch some Plex for "testing" purposes, 😜. I sure need to be sure the new server is setup correctly.
  16. Well, swapped in the E3C246D4U/2x16gb combo into my SC846 chassis yesterday. Went with an E2278G cpu and an Arctic Freezer 33 cooler. The cooler is huge. My chassis has just enough headroom to allow the cover to close. Also, I ordered a 9-pin USB 2.0 adapter to use for unRAID. That will arrive this week. My initial toying around has me very pleased. I need to update the BIOS and get fan settings sorted. Then I can get quick sync transcoding setup.
  17. Here's the manual with the details. https://download.asrock.com/Manual/E3C246D4U.pdf
  18. Haven't migrated to this board yet. Probably tomorrow. The manual, on page 24, shows this: So, you could try A2 and B2.

  20. I joined the club: my E3C246D4U motherboard and 16gb Hynix RAM combo arrived a couple days ago. I haven't had a chance to get everything setup on the test bench, but I noticed something different about these sticks of RAM. The pin length shortens from the center of the RAM stick toward each end. Wondering if anyone else has seen this?
  21. Yeah, I figured as much, especially with various posts I've read in this forum. It just surprised me a little that the guarantee seems so simple: buy it and don't like it, then contact us for an RMA to ship back within 10 days of the issue of the RMA. It really makes "on the fence" purchase decisions a little easier. Being that I'm changing my current server hardware, I've naturally started reading more unRAID forum posts about other doing similarly. I've read a lot of posts "will this x cpu do y?" Or other questions about motherboards, ram, etc. With a guarantee like this a person on the fence about a 4C8T vs 6C/12T cpu, could buy one. If it worked out, then great. Otherwise, they could send it back and buy the more appropriate hardware.
  22. I'm changing out my unRAID server for more modern gear, and found out about Provantage from other users' posts here in the forum. Looks like a solid seller. What caught me by surprise a little bit is their "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed on all in stock products!" They say that if a customer is not satisfied with a product for any reason, they'll refund the purchase price within 30 days. RMA is required. Curious whether anyone has needed to use this satisfaction guarantee and whether it worked out?

    Squid is 50!

Oh, my. I feel so deceived, since my gut feeling has always been that @Squid is 25. But despite this, and me being late to this amazing party, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Squid!!
  24. Servers are no small chunk of change; $$ add up quick. Glad to hear you've got a starting point. I just ordered this motherboard/RAM as a combo, minus the cpu, which was also a good deal. A friend is lending me an i3-9100 to try out for a week. If that works out for my needs, then I'll grab one. They're very affordable. If not, then I'll look at talking with this seller or Provantage, depending on the cpu I'm after.
