Exactly this. I kept hitting "Resend" and it messed everything up. "Cancel" button works. Interestingly, I haven't seen the issue after clicking "Cancel" on either server. BTW, this does not happen on an older version of unRAID that I haven't updated yet (think it's 6.7.something), perhaps because the plugins can't update on that old version.

After reboot, start array button is available. After hitting start button, I get the "resend" requester twice before getting the screen without stop array button, just reboot and shutdown. When booting in safe mode, array starts, whether UD is installed or not. Then I get all array control buttons available. Update: Noticed the status bar at bottom of screen says "Array Stopped" and "Stale Configuration". Docker containers and a single VM working.

Hello, Haven't seen anything like this in cursory scan of posts here, but that's not saying there's nothing in here about the issue. After installation of UD plugin, when starting array, I get the unRAID "busy" indicator for a bit, then it flashes the screen with all the buttons (for when array is started), then all I get are reboot and shutdown buttons. Array does not start. If I reboot, then I get Start Array button with the other two, reboot and shutdown. Attempt to start array results in same. No other plugins installed except for CA Apps. This is happening with two servers. 6.11.5. Thanks!

Hello, Trying to bind 4x ports of Intel I350 ethernet card, but when doing it this way with the plugin, it only binds first two ports. All four ports are in their own group, and when I inspect the vfio-pci.cfg file, it shows all four devices enumerated properly. UnRAID version 6.7.2. Edit: Meant to say each ethernet port has its own group; four groups for the card. Thanks!

After almost a year and 2 licenses, loving unRaid! Please keep up the excellent work, and here's hoping for another great 14 years for Limetech!

If you use the unassigned devices on separate hardware mirrored volume or mirrored the other 2 SSD's on the NVMe card via software, that would probably fit the usage needs you described.

Hello All, I've been using (and testing) unRaid for several months now, having a great time learning and experimenting. Assembled a rather oversized server with dual E5-2687w's, 128GB ram, lots of expandable storage, NVMe cache drives, etc. I put together a second computer for gateway / ad-blocking / VPN / etc. use. It has single Xeon E5-2690 (2.9 GHz, 8 core, 16 thread), onboard Intel Gb nic, Intel I350-T4 V2 quad-port nic, 16GB ECC ram (supports up to 64GB), storage as needed. Plans are to run things like a pfSense VM, piHole (maybe, but considering just using pfblockerng), openvpn or other vpn server, some type of VPN client to existing provider, and other Docker containers, lxc's, lxd's (maybe), lightweight VM's. I am testing Proxmox right now for the gateway base OS. There is, like anything, a learning curve associated with this system. I'm starting to wonder if it might be easier and less time-consuming to just purchase a basic unRaid license to run on the gateway box. The cost of the basic unRaid license isn't a big deal to me. Is this type of unRaid usage worth experimenting with, considering I won't be using one of the primary functions of unRaid, the NAS part? Am i limiting myself by going this direction vs. Proxmox (or other hosting environment)? I've searched and haven't found much about people doing this type of thing with their unRaid system while not using the NAS functionality.

That's really quite the coincidence. It's quite difficult to find anyone that owns one of these cases outside of just a few people that posted little videos on YT. It's not the kind of case that "pops" in your face like so many out there. Someone could make it like that if they worked at it, but it's not really designed that way. More utilitarian and just plain big. Someone on Reddit said it's almost like a small apartment, and that's true; I can almost fit my old Thermaltake Armor case inside the main "bay" or whatever you want to call each side. Hello All, Just wanted to say that so far, after several months or so using unRAID, very satisfied user. Still learning every day. Thought it was so cool, maybe this was added before rc4, but when I clicked on "edit" box on dashboard page, I found the Case Model popup. Lo and behold, devs put my case in there, Thermaltake Core WP200! Haven't seen anyone using that case in the unRAID forums, at least not that anyone's mentioned. It doesn't seem like a very popular case, but it fit my needs perfectly. Haven't seen much about it even on Reddit. As a friend mentioned while I was searching for parts for the build, "If you're gonna put quite a bit in the machine, why not just spend a little more for something you will be satisfied with and use for a long time?" This got me to thinking about several aspects of the build, such as the case and power supply. Ended up with this monstrosity of a case and the (currently) only digital PSU that has gallium nitride transistors, the Corsair AX1600i. Yeah, way overkill for anything but 3 or 4 top-tier video cards and everything else, but it's really built to last and extremely efficient. You should be able to upgrade to 64gb ram with no problem. The Z370 motherboards can address 64gb in dual channel mode just like you're running now. Cheers!

The jdm_waaat anniversary build components are very cost effective and would work great for your requirements. Possibly overkill, but you never know what you're going to do with the server in future. Used parts can be even easier on the wallet, especially motherboard, cpu's, and memory. You didn't mention your chassis model; motherboard choice depends a lot on what form factor your chassis will accommodate.

You can add more drives by installing an expander card connected to the lsi raid card. Most lsi raid cards accept this type of connection. If I'm right with my rough calculations, that means it would take about 9 days or so to preclear the drive. Probably shouldn't take that long. Try restarting the system after cancelling the preclear and see what the speed is at that point. Maybe set the array to not auto-start before rebooting, but that shouldn't have anything to do with the preclear. I've tried preclearing drives with and without the array running, and haven't seen any difference in speed of preclear. Even though I see the screen messages from my LSI SAS9201 controller BIOS, I have the BIOS set to disabled, since it's not using any of the BIOS functions and just running JBOD in IT mode firmware; not sure if that makes any difference either.

If your cpu temps are sitting at 100C for more than a few seconds, it's probably something wrong with temp sensing. There are certain cpu thermal events that trigger motherboard alarms, typically called THERM#, ALERT#, and THERMTRIP#. Most cpu's can't go 100C without tripping the last one, sending a signal to the motherboard to shut down. Therefore, if it sits at that temp for a while, that means the sensor is returning incorrect temp to the system, otherwise it would just turn itself off.

Yes, I've heard the Steam streaming works quite well for Steam games. I can stream pretty much any game on the shield from the pc. I've tested a few 3rd party controllers, and ms xb controllers work great. ps controllers work ok with the usb dongle if available.

I played around with htpc for years, settled on keyboard and connecting mouse only when needed. Last year I purchased an Android TV streaming box (nVidia Shield TV Pro) and it's been so much better. Works better with remote, lots more functionality. You don't have to go this far, as the shield pro is rather expensive, but there are some really good deals out there right now on media streaming boxes for your TV that will pretty much replace all your htpc functions and be easier to use. With the Shield, I can even run any PC game on it that I want to, provided I have the game installed on my computer and I have a compatible nVidia GTX 650 or better video card in that same computer. I look forward to the day I can install the games on a VM and have the video card passed through to this vm in unraid. That's a work in progress. Oh, and the Harmony remote works great with the Shield TV Pro. Good luck and have fun!

There's not a lot of support for Thunderbolt 3 YET... But I would say this is the way to go if investing in hardware right now. Plenty of future-proofing that way. Look up Linus Sebastian's home setup (Linus Tech Tips guy). He uses UnRaid to host VMs KVM-connected with TB3 card in server to TB3 docks via long optical cables. Rather expensive right now (100 foot optical TB3 cable is well over $200), but very elegant way to hook up a few KVM setups on the other side of the house. By the time you get cables & docks you're talking $500+ per connection. A few cheaper alternatives out there right now, if not using 4K. I hope to get into this type of thing at some point in my UnRaid adventures. I'll be acquiring a decent TB3 card for the server in not too distant future; can be used for all sorts of nifty USB connections for VMs. Sometime down the road I'll get a pcie extension/expansion card for more TB3 cards.

SuperMicro CSE-M35T-1B Maybe not calendar material, but definitely *** unRAID ServerPorn *** I use these, had 'em for years. Built like tanks and almost as heavy. Amazed that they're still sold everywhere, but don't pay too much for them. I think they came out before SATA3 spec, but who needs that; can't saturate a SATA3 port with spinning rust anyway. That's what SSD cache is for, right?

Like some other applications etc. do it; download the update, have it available for install, notify user. Maybe choices on whether to automatically download, install, and notify user to reboot; download and notify; or just notification of update available without download.
