V.6.7.2 Boot Stuck at "Update Success" after Reboot

Recommended Posts

After an overnight parity check, I clicked the "Reboot" button on the WEBGUI by accident, the server has been unable to boot up! It stuck after "Verifying DMI Pool Data ...... Update Success" on the monitor. I replaced the boot USB content with a backup but it still failed to boot up. I attach a screen shot below. Thanks for help!

My unraid server has been running for about 8-9 years without big issues! Would clicking the Reboot button change the boot order? I just checked the BIOS and saw that the boot order changed to hard disk! The bios in my machine has USB-FDD, USB-Zip, and USB-CDROM. I forgot which one I selected in the very beginning. Which one do you suggest? Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your helps, Squid and Hoopster! I have run the file (Unraid.USB.Creator.Win32-1.6.exe) to make the jump drive bootable.

I have backup files of the currently running version 6.7.2. Should I copy all the files to the newly created bootable USB except the files created by Creator?

My server has been running V.6.7.2 while the Creator has the new versions of 6.9. Should I run upgrade again if the machine is booted up?

The config folder from your backup is all you need to get your configuration back on a new install. The version the USB creator put on flash is the version you will have. If you aren't using the same flash drive you will have to transfer the license to the new flash drive.

Regarding your BIOS forgetting how to boot, that is probably due to the CMOS battery being dead. You should change that battery.

My server is not a "new install", it was running v.4.7 then upgraded to v.6.7. How should I combine the backup "config" folders and files to the newly created bootable USB? Should I just copy the config folder and even replace the newer files? Or, for those files with the same name, should I skip to copy and use the new files instead of?
