  • Hum, it's complicated, so I did not vote.     I generally use Chrome, but I access Unraid through Firefox so that I keep my general web-browsing and Unraid management separate.

  • Firefox - for all things mobile and desktop/laptop Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

  • Vote for Chrome

Floorp which is based on Firefox for Desktop. Safari for Mobile. I'd use Safari for desktop if uBlock Origin were available.

I keep Chrome installed only for sanity-checking problem websites. Google for example is screwing with Firefox on Youtube.

It's going to be interesting to see how many enthusiasts drop Chrome when the switch over to their more restrictive extension system which is going to prevent uBlock Origin from deploying.

Sidekick, which (like Brave and Edge) is based on Chrome but has a ton of improvements.

Second is Safari, which is IMO the most pleasant browser to use, but Sidekick does a better job of running with a gazillion tabs open.  Safari in turn does a better job (at least in my experience and on my laptop) of doing this than vanilla Chrome.  (I'm a tab addict, so this is a determining factor.)  Chrome hits a wall much sooner and performance suffers severely.  Safari hits the wall much later and performance suffers only a little bit.  I haven't yet seen Sidekick hit this wall.

Vivaldi

I like privacy. So nothing that has anything to do with Google. Nothing I do is anyone's business. Brave with it's shield and a lot of blockages through my network to stop things from worming their way in or out.

Hello, Firefox user her!

  • 2 weeks later...

Vivaldi hands down. I've not seen a single ad or unwanted popup in a month

I love when people say they want nothing to do with Google and then run a Chromium browser, where Google is responsible for almost 100% of the code that actually does anything to do with browsing.

I wish there was something new to run, with a completely different base. At the moment we have 3 shit-sandwiches served with a couple of dozen different condiments. So I've given up on taste testing.

Just in case the above is not obvious, Chrome/Chromium/Edge and all derivatives are 100% absolute GARBAGE. Unless you're getting paid real money to use one of them, stay away. Firefox and all derivatives are 100% GARBAGE. Safari is about 50% garbage, making it by far the best browser platform available with 0% chance of the other two ever catching up regardless of how much money is ever poured into them. But, it remains unusable as a daily driver because it can't run uBlock Origin and a number of other absolutely critical plugins to augment missing features. Period.

Forget Chrome, Safari or Firefox, I’m just over here still waiting for Netscape Navigator to make its glorious comeback. 🤔

Just Googled it (yeah ironic, I know), and you're right. Firefox is Netscapes descendant. I feel like I just found out Clark Kent is Superman! lol
