henris
I'm trying to setup the scan to folder feature on my new HP MFP M479fdn. I had no issues with my previous Canon MFP to scan to an Unraid share. I'm using the same public share called scan. I have tried with the root user and I have also created a new user "scanuser" and tried with that. I have tried "TMS-740", "tms-740", "WORKGROUP", "workgroup" and "localdomain" as the "Windows Domain". Both the web based configuration tool and the printer itself fail to make the connection. I suspect it is the "Windows Domain" part which is incorrect. What should it be in the case of Unraid? As a workaround I'm using my Windows computer's share without issues (domain in this case is the my computer's name) but we have multiple users in the family and Unraid would be the most convenient scan target since it is already available to all members. Any help is well appreciated! Quote Link to comment
nexusjosh
Its sad no-one has replied. I just got a used M477fdn, and was tinkering with its settings. I wanted to get Scan to Network functioning, but when I do "Save and Test" it fails. I made the printer its own user in UnRaid. The fields that could be wrong are "Network Path" and I have "\\10.0.0.2\Household Storage\04 Scans\HP StN" 10.0.0.2 being my server address. "Household Storage" being the Share and the the nested folders from there. If anyone has set this up, and can help myself and @henris I, and no doubt he would be thankful. Quote Link to comment
Kilrah
In the first case it could be that using the ip helps, in the 2nd maybe the printer doesn't like spaces in the path... It's been straightforward with my Brother printer. Quote Link to comment
dbuchber
Same problme here. I am in the mid of moving all features and folders from an Windows 10 PC used as NAS to an Unraid Server. The printer/scanner/... is a HP MFP M4777dn The server is a DELL T320 If anyone has solved this problem since the last poste, I would be very grateful if this person shares its knowledge with us Quote Link to comment
ogr
I too am unable to set it up. Had no issues when it was scanning to my old QNAP, but can't get it to work with Unraid. Tried both server name and ip address. Also tried different users, but no luck... Quote Link to comment
Zerginator
Have the same problem. Worked great with Synology, but won't connect to a Unraid Share. I tried with a specific user and IP adress. Maybe printer is using a too old SMB protocoll version? Quote Link to comment
itimpi
Have any of the recent replies enabled SMB v1? Quote Link to comment
Zerginator
No sure how to do that. This is what my Unraid Settings an HP Setting look like. And also attached the error message... Quote Link to comment

Zerginator
Yes, that is the solution. So again a modern hardware only supporting antique software protocols. Shame on you HP. Quote Link to comment
