June 30, 201214 yr on both, these (DEFAULT_PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_HOME="/usr/local/plexmediaserver" DEFAULT_PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR="/tmp/Library") are only used if no /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/plex_settings.cfg is present. My /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/plex_settings.cfg is present and reads as follows: # plex configuration DEFAULT_ENABLED="true" DEFAULT_RUNAS="unraid-plex" DEFAULT_TMPDIR="/mnt/users/plugin_data/pms/tmp" DEFAULT_PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR="/mnt/users/plugin_data/pms/library"
June 30, 201214 yr then on this side is all clear... I should also mention that I did a '/etc/rc.d/rc.plexmediaserver restart' and it retained my settings. I am going to try a reboot of the unRAID server and I will post the results.
June 30, 201214 yr then on this side is all clear... I should also mention that I did a '/etc/rc.d/rc.plexmediaserver restart' and it retained my settings. I am going to try a reboot of the unRAID server and I will post the results. Yeah, it came back up and the Plex Media Manager does not know about where my movies or tv_shows are located now. I can add them back in and it will stay there until I reboot. Are there any logs I can look at to help solve this?
July 1, 201214 yr I have been having some of the same problems when loading new media. I have to reboot just get Plex to notices them there. However, the odd part is it reset the share permissions each time it reboots or I manually restart PLEX. Any ideas why? In addition, I have the autoupdates turned on and the update every 15mins turned on but still not finding any of the new stuff. Thanks
July 1, 201214 yr Author DEFAULT_PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR="/mnt/users/plugin_data/pms/library" I think I found your problem..... DEFAULT_PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR="/mnt/users/plugin_data/pms/library" it has to be: DEFAULT_PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR="/mnt/user/plugin_data/pms/library"
July 1, 201214 yr I think you are right. I have made the fix and will test it after this big file copy gets finished as I am moving data from one array to another. Thank you for pointing it out!
July 1, 201214 yr That did it. It's always amazing to me how one letter or comma or semi-colon can throw off things and painful when you can't find it.
July 2, 201214 yr Okay, I've been trying to switch off of WWs/Influencer plug-in mods to the official Spidi install and I just can't seem to get it to work. Removed all traces of the Plex plugin install from /boot/config/plugins Tossed the file from Plex downloads in the directories it needs to go in, pointed it to my old library and tried to start. It never does. /mnt/user/Apps/Plex/ & /mnt/user/Apps/Plex/temp Set it to a new directory, also on the cache-only Apps share. /mnt/user/Apps/Plex_Library_Test & /mnt/user/Apps/Plex_Library_Test/temp Still no good. July 2, 201214 yr Author I guess you have installed unmenu and gcc. gcc is the problem it messes up some stuff. you can't export LC_ALL anymore. (no clue why) you have to remove gcc, otherwise it won't work.
July 2, 201214 yr Ah HA! That was it! Why on earth gcc was installed, I don't know. I have no idea why it would have been. Hell, I don't even much like having unmenu outside of the fact it's saved me a few times. Thank you! Glad to be on the official beta release.
July 2, 201214 yr Author if I remember correctly, than gcc will be installed when you use the email notification, because some dependencies are compiled at startup....
July 3, 201214 yr Spidi, I just reinstalled Plex and I am unable to see the link for the gui settings.
July 3, 201214 yr Ok so I have it runing, but now it seems like the permissions for my Library directory have changed and I can't access them like I use to.
July 3, 201214 yr Author Ok so I have it runing, but now it seems like the permissions for my Library directory have changed and I can't access them like I use to. chmod -R g+w /path/to/your/lib/ and it should work like you know it
July 3, 201214 yr Spidi, is the Library Directory where my media is or is does point to where I want PMS to save data?
July 3, 201214 yr Author Spidi, is the Library Directory where my media is or is does point to where I want PMS to save data? where PMS saves his data (NOT your media)
July 3, 201214 yr That's what I am doing wrong thinking "Library" is where my media is. No wonder I am unable to access that folder.
July 3, 201214 yr Joshzombie, can I ask why the switch? Out of interest more than anything. WW did that one and I've never messed with it, just wondering if there is a problem with it. Sent from my HTC Vivid
July 3, 201214 yr Thanks for all your great work on this! Question I'm trying to migrate from another plugin, what folder should I put in for Library Directory My current Plex folder structure is \mnt\user\PlexLib\Plex Media Server\ with subdirectories Cache Plug-in Support Logs Plugin-ins Media Scanners Metadata Thanks!
July 3, 201214 yr Joshzombie, can I ask why the switch? Out of interest more than anything. WW did that one and I've never messed with it, just wondering if there is a problem with it. Sent from my HTC Vivid Two reasons. The main one being I wanted to move to a source supported by the Plex devs. (Or, at least, recognized by them). The other being, I kept having hanging issues in the web GUI when starting/stopping it. It would hang for 5-10 minutes before I could do -anything- with the web GUI. It wouldn't even let me access any other part of servers GUI.
July 3, 201214 yr Author Thanks for all your great work on this! Question I'm trying to migrate from another plugin, what folder should I put in for Library Directory My current Plex folder structure is \mnt\user\PlexLib\Plex Media Server\ with subdirectories Cache Plug-in Support Logs Plugin-ins Media Scanners Metadata Thanks! normally you have to move it to this structure: /mnt/user/PlexLib/Application Support/Plex Media Server\ and point to /mnt/user/PlexLib
July 4, 201214 yr So I've moved to this version of the plex plugin from WW/Influencers - since it's a newer version of Plex that seems to work better with the devices in my house. My only problem is that Plex won't start automatically - the only way I can get it to run is to issue the command after my unraid box boots: root@mediab0x:/usr/local/plexmediaserver# ./start.sh & Any idea why I have to start it manually? Thank you!
