Heads up, this plugin version is not actively maintained. Folderview3 is where you will want to go for the latest requests https://forums.unraid.net/topic/197223-plugin-folderview3/

Yep check for hernandito icon pack, here or in old thread or in github

You can put them anywhere you can paste in a path to. So a url on the web or a local directory on the server. Like /mnt/user/sharename/directory/file.png

@VladoPortos I'm afraid to ask if was any time to some work maybe that clouse us to stable release.

The last beta has issues in dark mode in dashboard but privios beta was fine for me but seems has issues for others.

Also will be fine if expand folders in dashboard will be like in old version (Folder View) if it possible. :)

thank you - i ended up copying the 4 png files to /boot/config/plugins/folder.view2/ just to keep it local...probably shouldn't but oh well.

Once you set those picture files, do they get stored inside the JSON itself and thus its safe to delete the .pngs? I noticed when i copied over just my JSON file for the docker, that it still retained my old .png logos even though i didn't keep those .png files inside either /boot/config/plugins/folder.view2/ or the older /boot/config/plugins/folder.view/ (which got deleted anyways when i removed the old plugin)

You'll need to keep the images stored wherever you choose to place them. But I would NOT store them in the plugin folder. I wouldn't store much of anything on the boot drive. That stuff can get overwritten by updates. Choose or create a share to put your png files in.

Alright makes sense, I put them in a new folder /mnt/user/appdata/FolderView/Download.png and so forth.

Thank you :)

That is why you need to make backups of the boot disk.

So like @Mattaton said you can store anywhere in boot or in Share or in github

I only just found that there is a new beta that may, finally, address the autostart settings issue.

And only after FolderView2 now lost and jumbled all of my autostart settings for the third time. 😐

Given how serious the consequences of that bug are (not only does it lose autostart settings for the right containers, it also autostarts the wrong ones), this really needs to be pushed into production sooner rather than later.

Also, is there any reason why code updates aren't being pushed to github?

Agreed. I have yet to switch to FolderView2 or even to unRAID 7 on my main server. Largely waiting for the combination of a stable/less-buggy v7 (which it seems like they may have finally reached with 7.1.4), and a real, working FolderView2 that has reached feature parity with what the previous plugin had on unRAID 6 - which we have not yet seen, and doesn't even seem to be on the near horizon.

No offense at all to @VladoPortos , but I had my concerns from day one (and voiced them) that he was taking on more than he was prepared for. What was first a quick emergency fix to make FolderView work moving in to unRAID 7, caused folks to cling to him as the savior of the plugin - which is a HUGE undertaking. I'd never sign up for it! ;D Kudos to him for taking it on!

So now there's this mounting pressure to get a working version out and he's busy with his life commitments and work - totally understandable!

At the end of the day, the gracious people who create these plugins are under no obligation other than their own sense of honor to get things working for us. Which is why there's no hard feelings toward @scolcipitato for facing reality that he needed to drop the maintenance of FV1 and same for VladoPortos keeping his priorities straight. While I would love a fully working, bug-free FV again, I can't fault a guy for not having the time he hoped he would!

It's a much, much smaller project, but I also have no time at the moment to tinker with the custom CSS I did for FV1 to get it working properly with FV2. If these guys are like me, that sort of free time comes in infrequent waves. I'll suddenly have a bunch of time to pour into a little passion project and then, POOF! It's gone. And who knows when it'll be back again?! ;D

Unraid 7.x is fine, also fixed your dark theme CSS for FV2 for docker page , the only issue is with dashboard for latest beta, but waiting for @VladoPortos will make final version :).

Hope he will have time soon.

Anyway nobody else we have for maintaining this plugin.

Before I used folderview you could change the start order of containers individually when the system restarts. With folderview you can move folders around but not individual containers. Does the start order of containers inherit start order from when before folderview was installed or does it start based on which folder is on top and then from left to right in that folder?

Guys/Girls I'm back (again :) ) hopefully can continue on plugin... but also kind of hesitant for now since we are getting "proper" API in new version of Unraid soon from what I understand in 7.2 also the UI get full responsiveness which will break the plugin UI element for sure :-/ ... so maybe no more hacky way to get info about containers from Unraid ?

I'll try to look at the past messages what issues popped up for the beta and I'll try to fix it so the dark theme can be worked on in return.

Cool you back, Yep 7.2 using response ui, so needs to use <span> and etc...

@VladoPortos also found in folder.view2-2025.08.07.4 - CPU/MeM Autostart moved right and double Version (checked with CSS disabled):

When is the next update coming?

Was wondering if the next stable release is built for Unraid 7.2.0 that’s coming in the near future?

@bobalot and @Dhoges

Did you scroll up and read this post ?

Yes I read the post from 11 days ago saying he wasn’t sure how to have the plugin compatible with the new Unraid release that’s coming and then the post underneath that explaining how to do it.

My question is still the same?

I love the plugin and will hold off updating Unraid if the next stable plugin release is going to be compatible with Unraid 7.2.0. If it isn’t, I’ll be jumping on the Unraid beta and potentially scrapping this plugin until an after date when Vlado has the time to fix it.
