So I tried a bluray rip to folder of a full movie and gave it a shot, but when I click on the folder it just seems to reboot the system back to the NMT splash screen from the boot up.  So I used TSMuxer and pulled out the main movie and the HD audio track and output it as a bluray.  Went and clicked on the new one and once again it just reboots to the splash screen.

Has anyone had that problem?  Can't seem to get anything to work.

How did you rip the Blu-ray? AnyDVD HD? Does it play using something like TotalMediaTheater 3 on a PC? What Blu-ray is it?

What firmware are you running on the C-200?

It's rare for a Blu-ray not to work. Some don't. I can't remember any rebooting the C-200 though.

Yes, AnyDVD HD was used to rip Law Abiding Citizen.  I tried the raw AnyDVD rip in folder structure and it didn't work, but had heard that the AnyDVD rip by itself can cause problems.  So I used TSMuxer to pull out the main movie and audio stream, but with the same result it just reboots ot the media tank splash screen.  I also had a seven pounds rip that does the same thing, but I can't remember how that was ripped exactly.  I'll see if TMT3 will play it tonight and make sure I didn't so something silly when I ripped it like leaving the protection on there or something.

It's likely there was a problem with the rip. In AnyDVD, I enable Blu-ray support, remove region, but don't remove anything else.

So on the AnyDVD settings what options does everyone have checked for bluray.  BluRay compatibility and remove BD Live are the ones I have removed at the moment.  What do people have selected for the region code?

I was finally able to get a core movie with TrueHD audio to play, but only through NFS.  Samba still causes the reboot.  The strange thing was I setup a NFS through the settings page but was unable to see any of the files in my bluray share on the unRAID.  However, if I just browse the NFS from the main menu and manually go to the file share I was able to see the files and to also play the one bluray file as I mentioned above.

Has anyone been able to retain the full bluray structure with menus and get it to stream with PCH?

See my sig! I have played 500 full (1:1) Blu-ray rips. All to the PCH C-20. All from unRAID. All over Samba. I don't use NFS.

Try streaming a rip from a PC to take the unRAID server out of the equation. You should be able to isolate the problem through a process of elimination.

Do you rip to file folder or to ISO?  Do you do any other processing of the file after you have ripped it?  Once I know my AnyDVD settings and processing of the files is correct then I can work on figuring out why it kept rebooting on the SMB share.  I really appreciate the feedback neilt0 you have been extremely helpful.

Anyone using YAMJ?  I setup a NFS but I noticed that it shows up on the popcorn as individual disks with the share name only showing up on the first disk.  Well as luck would have it my first disk is half full so it switched to disk 2, where it copied 2 or three new movies as well as the YAMJ index and jukebox.  Well of course when I browse to disk 2 on the PCH it does not see my usershare.  Is this a setting I need to change on the unRAID settings or am I limited by this on the NFS?

Seems my problem is that the popcorn see's each disk individually with the share as a folder on each disk, is there any way of making the PCH see the BluRay Movies share as one common disk without seeing each disk seperately.

You should configure user shares. This is a "virtualization" technique unRAID is using to combine data from same named directories on all disks.

How or what do I need to do with the user share to get it properly configured?

Stop your unRAID array, go to the "Shares" page in the management interface.

Enable "User-Shares" (Press "Apply")

Go back to the main page, press "Start" to start your array.

Now, on the lan you will have a new "share" named after every top level folder on your disks.  If all of your disks have a "movies" top level directory, the new "movies" share will present you with a consolidated view for your popcorn hour.

I personally used the same "Shares" page to set my "disk shares" to be read/write, but hidden.  This prevents them from showing up in my media players list of available shares.  I can still get to them from my PC by typing the full path to their directories.

Joe L.

I currently have SMB and NFS enabled.  SMB is set to export read/write and NFS is set to *(rw).

I have a network share called BluRay Movies with the following settings:

Allocation - High Water

Split Level - 1

Disks Included - disk1,disk2,disk3,disk4,disk5 (is this required?)

SMB Export - Export read/write

NFS Export - *(rw)

The NFS is the only thing I have been able to get to work on mine, for whatever reason the SMB share just causes the system to reboot.  is there a way to export the NFS with files hidden as you mentioned above?  Any suggestions on setting adjustments.

I have no experience with either the Popcorn hour, or NFS shares..  therefore, I cannot guide you with any suggestions.

How did you setup your smb share on the Popcorn Hour?  Did you use the IP address of the server (e.g. smb://"ipaddress"/share folder

On the UnRAID side, I setup a user share but I don't use it for copying files to the server so none of the other parameters matter.  As for whether or not including the disks matters, each time I add a new drive, I just create the same folder structure as the user share and it shows up on my A-110 thru smb share.

Come to find out that my SMB share wasn't working b/c I had a space in the share name BluRay Movies, I changed it to BlurRay_Movies and boom everything started working fine.  Good thing is I don't have the problem with the share on SMB like I did with the NFS.  So now I have everything up and running with YAMJ and can't be happier.  Boy does YAMJ make all the difference in the presentation, absolutely beautiful presentation with the fan art, etc.

Getting UNRAID set up very soon.  I am going to full disk rip about 350+ standard definitions DVD that I own for playback on my Popcorn A200 and A110.  Are there any technical reasons to prefer TS_VIDEO over ISO?  With all things being equal, I'd prefer ISO as it keeps everything into one file.

ISO works well for me... with close to three times as many movies in my library.  Much easier, especially if you just rip the main movie.  If I want to watch the extras, I grab the DVD off the shelf.

Hi everyone!

Long time AVS'er, NMT user, etc here looking to buy/build a new Unraid storage for the movie collection.  I've been using myIhome on a couple windows boxes for the last couple years and use YAMJ to the PCH A-110s for streaming.  Like many here, my rips are a mix of M2ts streams, MKVs mostly and a few others I ripped prior to buying Bluray.

I've spent a few days reading and feel I can get the raid set up with all the good forum posts and wikis etc.. BUT  .. I really would like to continue serving my collection through YAMJ and make the transition to Unraid as seemless as possible for the family.

I would really like a step-by-step on getting this accomplished if at all possible.  Judging from several posts at the NMT forums, I'm guessing such a doc would be appreciated by alot of folks who are on the fence with Unraid.

Thanks for any guidance..    ;D

Do you mean a step-by-step to getting YAMJ running (i.e. scanning media and creating the index files and then serving the files from unRAID), or something different? If the former, I have been working on a "how-to" since I haven't found anything similar. The missing step is how to set the script to auto-run, but I could post where I have got to so far (set up to manually scan & serve) if that is of use to anyone? (Might be a couple of days as don't have it with me at the moment). Would that be of use to anyone?

Absolutely!  Post whatever you have ready.  I just want to get the consolidated file share built and populated and be able to use YAMJ just as I do today (from myIhome/PCs) but from the Unraid Tower instead of the PCs.  I have to get away from being dependent on the PCs to watch a movie and also obvisouly need the data protection.

It's taken me 2 yrs to get my jukebox like I want it and to get the wife and kids comfortable with the navigation.. so I really hate to change if not totally neccessary.   ;)

No need to change anything, you just populate unRAID with your data 1:1 and then without changing the Jukebox settings run with the new share path. You may run it on a PC or on unRAID directly, doesn't matter. You will need to adapt the mountpoints in the library.xml with the new paths but the user interface itself won't change.

So, you copy data, setup YAMJ, generate new Jukebox on unRAID, then on all clients setup the new source share and that's it. Noone would notice any change (if they don't see you working). :-)

exactly. you can literally copy your current yamj setup to unraid and run from there (after a few tweaks). i'll post the step-by-step asap (unless someone beats me to it before hand)

Thanks guys.  I'm looking forward to seeing the steps.  I guess I'm just 1 track minded with the simplification of MyIHome that I'm missing the forest through the trees.

I'm am concerned that I will need Llink to stream through http unlessI can get the borderline .M2TS streams to play with SMB or NFS.

If you have an A-110 and want to play Blu-ray rips, you may need to install llink, or use NFS (built-in).

The C-200 (mine anyway) works fine with Samba.
