February 21, 201511 yr First, I wanted to say thank you dlandon for extensively supporting the apcupsd plugin. I dont think it ever would have been possible or wouldnt have happened nearly as early as it has to get it built in were it not for your continued efforts in supporting it across the various stable releases and the v6 betas. I agree! Thank you dlandon!
February 21, 201511 yr Another big THANK YOU for your work on the apcupsd plugin. I, for one, would never have participated in the beta program for version 6 without it!
April 5, 201511 yr Hello, I was just about to purchase a Cyberpower UPS (Because of the simple setup with ESXi) and then I noticed this is now integrated... Am I correct in thinking I can pass through a USB APC unit to my unRAID VM and then have this issue an SSH command to shutdown the VM's and ESXi host (I believe the command is "/sbin/shutdown.sh && /sbin/poweroff"). Or am I way off the mark with my presumptions? Perhaps I should just stick with Cyberpower and their super easy virtual appliance Many thanks in advance for any assistance.
April 7, 201511 yr dlandon, I've been working on a guide to the v6 upgrade, found here - Upgrading to UnRAID v6 I wanted to compile in one place all of the v6 related info that a v5 user faces when trying to upgrade (there's a lot to deal with), and the guide includes 3 areas you are directly involved in. If or when you have time, would you mind reviewing the UPS Settings section and the Trim for SSD's section. The UPS section is essentially done, subject to review and any final improvements. The SSD Trim section is very rough, not sure how to finish it, or whether to leave it as is. I cheated and after a few leading comments just pointed to your 'How to' thread. You are welcome to rewrite it yourself if you choose, or it can be left as is. The third area of yours is SNAP, but I haven't gotten to it yet. You are welcome to write something yourself if you like, or I'll try to synthesize a summary, with appropriate links, and then request your review. By the way, you are listed in the credits because I have used some of your words already (I forget where they all are). You (and anyone else) are welcome to critique anything you see on the page. The more critiques and suggestions now, the better. I'm hoping the guide will lighten the support load, once the full user base begins the upgrade. But I do understand if this is not of interest to you, we all have busy lives.
