February 20, 201511 yr http://unraid.zeron.ca/plugins/open-vm-tools/openVMTools.plg Finally work with unRAID 6. 6.0/6.1 Requires the Powerdown package. 6.2+ does not. 6.3.5 is the last version supported by this plugin. I no longer use unRAID under ESXi Edited January 18, 20188 yr by Zeron
February 20, 201511 yr Awesome thank you Zeron! Guess beta 12's kernel was a no go? I think a lot of folks are going to stay on beta 12 after the b13 issues.
February 21, 201511 yr +1 on b12 until the b13 issues are sorted out. Can you please elaborate on what does vm-tools help with? I would love to have the ability of some programs (like Plex) bypassing the VPN. (not related to vm tools at all) EDIT: open vm tools: http://open-vm-tools.sourceforge.net/about.php http://unraid.zeron.ca/plugins/open-vm-tools/openVMTools.plg Finally work with unRAID 6. Requires the Powerdown package. Currently compiled for the beta13 Kernel. Will update to B14 when it is out assuming they do not switch to kernel 3.19 as it will not yet compile with that kernel version.
February 24, 201511 yr I also bit the bullet and went to b14. Working great here Zeron!! Thank you! Do you have a donation page?
April 9, 201511 yr Is this only for unraid running as a vmware vm? Do I need this plugin for unraid 6.x running on real hardware and using say xen to run other vms?

April 30, 201511 yr Ah shoot. Upgraded unRAID to beta15 and forgot about this plugin. Getting 'Plugin was built for Kernel 3.18.5 but you have 3.19.4' Any update coming?

May 20, 201511 yr Author Hi Zeron, How about update to v6 RC? looks like no choice to new update to every new linux kernel version.. Uploaded today. Hopefully Limetech will not change the Kernel version before the final release of V6
May 20, 201511 yr Uploaded today. Hopefully Limetech will not change the Kernel version before the final release of V6 Good luck with that. We are trying to follow a similar releaes process as the linux kernel. What they call "linux-next" is our "betas". The transition to "-rc" means simply: "no new features, bug fixes only." At some point -rc becomes "stable". I will also point out: we have no problem updating an entire package to address a bug (within reason), and we view the linux kernel as just another package.
May 21, 201511 yr Hopefully Limetech will not change the Kernel version before the final release of V6 Tom released -rc3 with kernel 4.0.4, because of some important BTRFS fixes. And -rc4 is in testing...
June 9, 201511 yr Is the power down package/plugin that is required for this VMTools plugin to work just the one that can be installed through unMenu?
June 9, 201511 yr Author Is the power down package/plugin that is required for this VMTools plugin to work just the one that can be installed through unMenu? I don't use unMenu so I don't know which powerdown package it provides. This is the one I use: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31735.0

June 18, 201511 yr Is there a link still available for this plugin that will work with version 6b15 (old kernel)? I had to roll back to the old kernel since the new one is giving me USB device reset errors.
