Add VM button doesn't do anything

Just upgraded to RC3 (from beta 15) and rebooted.

My Dockers are starting up and working fine.

Wanted to try the new VM coolness, but when I hit the "Add VM" button, nothing happens.  Nothing in the log jumps out, either.

Anybody else having this issue?  Any suggestions?

Just to check - I assume that you have VM's enabled under Settings->VM Manager

Must do otherwise you don't get a KVM tab, I had a problem a similar problem and solved it by setting up a new USB disk from fresh, a little extreme though.

Yes, VMs are enabled.  Any other suggestions?  I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this.

I was using VMs with 15b successfully, but I had a python script that would modify a base file and let me alternate between VNC and GPU passthru.  Now I can't test that because rc3 removed python!

side question - I'm reasonably comfortable on the command line, but as a user.  I'm not up to speed on administration.  Is there an easy way to add python back to my server?

Installed python and started the VM I've been editing/starting manually.  It works fine, and if my VM is running, <Add VM> will go to the setup UI.  If I shut down the VM (so nothing is listed under VMs), the <Add VM> button goes back to not working.

Which release are you running?

I know this is old.  I didn't realize jonp had asked for more info.  I still have this problem, but assume it is something out-of-date on my flash drive.  F12 on the webpage (from chrome) said there was an error on the page's source.

Can someone point me to instructions for putting a clean install of unRAID on a new flash drive (I have a 2nd/backup license available) and specifically getting it set up to work with what is already on my drives?

  • Will it automatically find my current unRAID setup (data/shares) because the drives are already formatted properly?
  • Can I enable dockers and add the same containers and recover what I have already?  If so, how?
  • Are there specific files I need/should to copy over from the old flash drive?

Pointers to other threads/wiki are fine for answers (just looking for confirmation of the right process).  Just want to ask before I do anything and risk corrupting my array!
