[Support] ich777 - Gameserver Dockers

Loving UnRaid, recently needed a NAS + 'All in one' box. Just having an issue with the 7DTD (7 Days to Die) docker.

- I have installed the 7DTD docker, I have started it.
- I can connect to the server via my client and other clients on my LAN can see the server. But I cannot figure out how to admin the 7DTD server.
- Yes I can change the .xml to add mods etc... But how can I RESTART / KICK PLAYERS / RUN SERVER COMMANDS?

On my client PC I cannot TELNET to the 7DTD Server, even though Telnet is enabled on my WIN 10 PC and Telnet is allowed in the 7DTD configs.

Any ideas? Is there a guide I can look at, my 'google fu' is all used up. :)

First off you don't want to use telnet, its complete shit.  There are server managers out there that connect via Alloc's server fixes api, like the CSMM-7DTD docker.  I run a discord for 7D server owners and admins: https://discord.gg/VwwYA5h  You can join and get tech support and help for running and managing a server.

 

There are basic vanilla commands, you can access by typing help in the console.

Hello, sorry to bother you. I am seeing a lot of this in the ConanExiles logs - is this something i should be concerned about?

No, these are just Warnings from WINE since there is no native version of the dedicated server for Linux available I had to run it through WINE, that's also why the Container is marked as beta in the CA APP

Hi! I have tried searching this topic for my answer without finding it. I host a csgo server and want to use workshop/custom maps. I add them in my map folder "\\Unraid_server\appdata\cstrikego\csgo\maps" I see them when i go "rcon maps *" in console. But when i change map it first downloads the map then this comes up in the console 

Download file 'maps/de_test4_4.bsp' ignored. File uploads are disabled!

I have tried adding "sv_allowupload 1" and "sv_allowdownload 1" in my server.cfg but get the same message. I have read something about fastDL  But I have no idea how to implement that in unraid

Have you also restarted the Container after updateing the server.cfg?

For a fastdownloadserver you need a external server with a certain folder structure.

I have seen the reddit thread and some other ones about FastDL. Can I in someway link to the external IP address to my unraid server without exposing it publicly, or do you reccomend some typ of vpn, like wireguard?

You have to make it publicly available, otherwise a fastdownload server isn't possible because it downloads it from an "external" site.

 

The normal download function should work just fine if you restart the container after making the change.

Please try it with this function or you give the map to the other players manually and they have to place it in the maps folder.

I'm not really the CS:GO specialist since I run mustly only CS:Source (but it should basically the same) and the download of the CS:Source maps works just fine for both the integrated "slow" download or the "faster" fastdownload solution.

 

I think this has something to do with the configuration, also make sure that the CS:GO server can read the file, eventually the file permissions have changed, but this should also be resolved after a Container restart since every time you start/restart the Container the permissions are set.

 

Also shouldn't be the custom maps in a folder called 'custom' and a subfolder with 'maps' or am I wrong here?

I have tried this but it makes no difference, it still starts up the server immediately instead of txadmin. 

I think its because the docker runs the "+exec server.cfg" ConVar when launching run.sh

 

is there a way to launch run.sh without any ConVars?

That was the quickest solution in my mind...

 

Please keep me updated if you solve your issue, this Container is not different to a dedicated server that runs on bare metal.

It worked great with the webhost thing, either way its weird that it wont upload directly from the server
