@UNRAIDyNAS Thank you so much, this works great!

I love the detailed customization options.

Please consider making the plugin available in the Community App Repository.

Hallo,

I want to extract/read the libuLinux_hal.so file from my QNAP TS-V863+, but I don't know how. There is a description available on GitHub (https://github.com/Stonyx/QNAP-EC), but it seems to only explain how to download the data from that site.

How can I download or compile it from the original source? Can this also be done via a Windows 11 or iPad-shell?

NCT6687 PWM control fails on Unraid 7.3.3 – ASRock Z370M Pro4

Hello,

After upgrading from Unraid 7.3.2 to 7.3.3, manual PWM fan control stopped working in CoolerControl. Fan RPM readings remain available, but switching PWM channels to manual mode fails with Input/output error (os error 5).

Downgrading to Unraid 7.3.2 restores full functionality without changing CoolerControl or BIOS settings.

System information

- Motherboard: ASRock Z370M Pro4

- Controller: Nuvoton NCT6683D, EC firmware 1.0 (07/18/16)

- Driver: NCT6687 plugin by ich777

- CoolerControl: Docker container

Working vs. failing versions

| | Working | Failing |

|---|---|---|

| Unraid | 7.3.2 | 7.3.3 |

| Kernel | 6.18.38 | 6.18.54 |

| Driver package | nct6687d-20260629 | nct6687d-20260915 |

| Module version | 1.0.0 | 1.0.0 |

| srcversion | 0B3847622B683F9C93DA9D9 | F9122C161007B8F98A39714 |

| Manual PWM | Working | EIO error |

Errors on Unraid 7.3.3

CoolerControl:

Unable to set pwm_enable for
/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1/pwm1_enable to 1
Error: Input/output error (os error 5)
Unable to set pwm_enable for
/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1/pwm2_enable to 1
Error: Input/output error (os error 5)

Kernel (dmesg):

nct6687: Forcibly enabling EC access. Data may be unusable.
nct6687: Found NCT6683D or compatible chip at 0x002e:0x0a10
nct6687: NCT6683D EC firmware version 1.0 build 07/18/16
nct6687: Failed waiting for new configuration to be accepted
nct6687: Fan registers are still accessible

PWM state on 7.3.3:

pwm1: 165
pwm1_enable: 2
fan1_input: 781
pwm2: 165
pwm2_enable: 2
fan2_input: 1331

Debugging performed

1. Verified that only nct6687 is loaded and bound to the controller (/sys/bus/platform/drivers/nct6687).

2. Confirmed that the built-in nct6683 driver is blacklisted.

3. Checked module parameters: fan_config=default, fan_mask=255, temp_mask=127.

4. Verified that RPM monitoring works, but switching PWM1/PWM2 to manual mode fails.

5. Performed a full shutdown with AC power disconnected overnight; no improvement.

6. Downgraded to Unraid 7.3.2 with its matching NCT6687 driver package; CoolerControl works normally again.

@VectorW I have the exact same issue with a Z370 mainboard. Everything has worked fine with Unraid 7.3.2 but 7.3.3 and the respective 6687 driver version locks down the fans. I also have a NCT6683 though.

hpsahba does not install on 7.4.0-rc.2

The github repo has a package for kernel 6.18.59-Unraid however 7.4.0-rc.2 is 6.18.58-Unraid so it fails to download
