Pterodactyl Panel Install & Configure on Unraid using DOCKER (2021)
I followed the Ibracorp guide mostly yes. i obviously skipped the proxy part, but the ip part wasn't explained in detail. And in contrary to what i mentioned earlier. The other parts of the panel are all visible, but external users can't actually interact with them. they can't even start / stop the servers from the panel. I'm geussing it has to do with the websocket that closes to quickly, but as i can't really relate to the proxy setups, i'm having some difficulties figuring this out.

Pterodactyl Panel Install & Configure on Unraid using DOCKER (2021)
So, since i'm still hoping for a response. I will add another issue i'm experiencing. I'm not using a proxy, and don't want to either. So instead using the ip option without SSL. But, when friends connect to the panel, they can do everything BUT see the console of whatever server they're viewing. They can use all other functionality but that part. I've set portfowarding for both the deamon (wings) and the panel docker. The game server itsself is accesible from outside. Can any1 tell me why the console is not visible?

Pterodactyl Panel Install & Configure on Unraid using DOCKER (2021)
Gday good sir, I have recently started experimenting / using pterodactyl (as a whole) on unraid docker using this video guide. Almost everything works. Can import eggs, can install servers and the likes. (cant set up passwords for the servers, but i know thats egg related and can always do that after the fact using the file manager). However, there is 1 specific egg i can't seem to get working, which is Satisfactory. I've used eggs from several sources, and they all have the same issue. The package simply won't install (other games and service so far work just fine). I've tried getting help on github (here) from one of the egg suppliers, but others in their community state it works fine, so i'm geussing it is related specifically to the unraid way. However, this is also where it gets interesting trying to troubleshoot the issue. I cannot find where logs are stored, not from the deamon, the game installs themselves nor the panel. i'm supposed to run this command on the daemon: tail -n 100 $(ls -Alrt /var/log/pterodactyl/install/*.log | tail -1 | sed 's/ */ /g' | cut -s -d' ' -f9) | nc pteropaste.com 99 Opening the console from the unraid docker tab i can paste this in and hit enter, but nothing seems to happen and i'm clueless as where to begin. Can you please assist? Also, where can i find the version number of the wings daemon that is installed?

Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
No . . . but you kinda have to have the ability to do so. Which i do not currently have. And since everything is working just fine with it in there, i can always take it out if it actually does become a problem. It's marked, labeled and tagged. But having the ability to filter these things from actually going to the log, will help others with actual issues, helps me not seeing all the crap i'm already aware off, and well, frankly if i don't want something, i should be able to not have it. We're not on windows, right?

i know . . . i want to turn it off, but i'm being flamed in the RC3 thread for asking this function. Did you just push an update? 😛

so . . . i finally got around to setting up the rootshare with UD. Even tho it succesfully created, have set and checked SMB security settings, i cannot connect to it. Other shares work fine (yes i've disconnected them prior to trying to mount the UD root share). I'm prompted with a login, after filling this out, the network path cannot be reached?

Recycle Bin (vfs recycle) for SMB Shares
sorry, don't visit the fora daily. What exactly do you mean with adding rootshare capability to UD? (i am on RC3 and have the file manager installed too)

Docker IP out of DHCP range
Gday all, I have a few dockers that i don't want to have a static ip, but i want them to get an ip from my DHCP server. If i want, i can make the docker ip static from the DHCP server side, if at all. However, currently it seems the dockers are getting an ip assigned that is outside of the DHCP scope (yes, even when bridging vlans). Is there a way they always contact the actual DHCP server instead of an internal thing that could cause me to have duplicates?

Recycle Bin (vfs recycle) for SMB Shares
well, thats a bummer. . . let's hope RC3 has a root share!

Recycle Bin (vfs recycle) for SMB Shares
Ok, i think i found the issue. Since i'm using the 'root' share as my main working area, it doesn't seem to work. But when i map a folder in the root to a share, it works. Any way i can have it work on the 'root' share too? with root share, i mean the way as instructed in this video:

Recycle Bin (vfs recycle) for SMB Shares
Gday all, So since the misses started cleaning up her pictures too frantically, i decided to install this plugin and create a recycle bin. However, it doesn't seem to work. I have installed it via the app section, enabled the recyclebin plugin, restarted to make sure it would stick, changes the age days to 21 and kept the rest default. But, upon deleting files, no bin is created . . . What is wrong? Im using 6.10.0 RC2

[6.9.2] Hypervisor memory leak [Solved with 6.10.0 RC2]
Good day, I have come across the issue that when running a Linux Based operating systems in the Unraid VM with CCTV software it does not release memory as it should. When testing with a baremetal install on the same hardware the issue does not occur. And the best part is, that i do not seem to be alone. Main testing: ShinobiCCTV in Ubuntu 20.04LTS ShinobiCCTV in CentOS 8 ShinobiCCTV in Docker (SpaceInvaderOne, with and without hardware acceleration) Third party testing (@Thirs): ShinobiCCTV on Ubuntu 20.04LTS ShinobiCCTV on Docker IspyAgentDVR on Docker See for more info. To elaborate on the issue. The issue with the CCTV software in combination with the hypervisor occurs after a couple of days. Where a baremetal install works without any memory related issues. After about 4 - 5 days all of the assigned memory (32gb) is eaten away and not released. While i have tested a baremetal install on the same machine (see signature) i have also tested a baremetal install on an old 4c/4t i5 laptop with 4gb of memory. Which runs flawless for the same period of time. The issue where the memory is not released is not OS specific, as both Ubuntu, CentOs and Docker have the issue. And it is reproducable across the board by simply installing atleast the mentioned CCTV applications, adding camera's to the dashboard, don't even have to set up any motion detection or anything, and it will slowly start eating away at the memory. For docker this means that eventually the docker will crash and restart the application. For the VM's however, this means they just simply start throwing 'out of memory' errors, which make sence. The diagnostic file will contain a 'few' message about a corrupted memory module. But since i have tested a bare metal install on the same hardware, this to me is irrelevant as the bare metal install works without issues. I do not know at this time what other information to add. The people over at Shinobi seem to be willing to help resolve the issue, or atleast seem fortcomming to me. So maybe there is potential to work together on this issue. Kind regards, bigboii-diagnostics-20211026-0813.zip

Odd behaviour VM / docker (memory leak gallore)
Good day all, So, since i started with unraid, i've always had the thought in mind to host my own VM's, so that i could run several applications in them and ofcourse learn from the different operating systems. However, i been running into an issue when it comes to atleast linux based systems. For home security purposes, i'm running Shinobi. I currently have 9 camera's connected to it and the software itsself is great as it fulfills all my needs. However, in the docker i had the issue that it would not release memory. So ofcourse, i contact the developers for support. They advised me to switch to a linux. So we install a VM with Ubuntu 20.04LTS. The installation works great, the software works great, but lo and behold. The issue is there again. Once again it will not release memory eventually causing a crash in the VM (or rather, out of memory errors in the VM and the docker crashes and will restart). Since ofcourse we want to exclude anything from the possibilities, we switch over to CentOS 8. The install once again works great. But here too, the exact same issue is happening. It won't release memory and will eventually crash, eventually being usually within 4 days. The testing parameters will be down below. Now we know for sure that Docker, Ubuntu 20.04LTS and CentOS8 will all eventually crash, or atleast cause the software to stop working as intended. Can't be an unraid issue right? As most posts related to the topic always say its somewhere on the VM level and its the user or hardware fault. Right! So, let's put that to the test. Bye bye unraid (for now) and lets make this a baremetal linux box. We install ubuntu 20.04LTS on the same system. Install Shinobi. And add the camera's, all fine. the exact same bare minimal configuration as all the test cases. No recording, no motion detection no nothing. Just adding camera's and displaying them on the webui dashboard. And what do you geuss? instead of locking up due to out of memory issues, even tho the baremetal box has 128gb of ecc memory available and the VM's only had 32gb asigned to them. The software only uses 1gb memory over the course of 5 days, which compared to out of memory issues on 32gb over the course of 4 days in the other tests, seems like a breeze. So i would love to know, what is happening with the hypervisor in unraid that causes these linux VM's AND docker to not release memory? Testing parameters: caennanu-diagnostics-20211020-0806.zip

Unassigned Devices - Managing Disk Drives and Remote Shares Outside of The Unraid Array
So . . . i had a VM where i set a share to an unassigned disk. This VM would create files on the disk. However, now i'm unable to delete these files. When running new permissions or docker safe new perms, i cannot 'select' the disks to redo their persmissions. How would i get control again over the disk files, without simply formatting?

Unable to mount share to CentOS 8
Anyone who can clarify if an SMB share on unraid will generate actual network traffic when mounted to a VM also on unraid?
-
Unable to mount share to CentOS 8
Don't know about speed. But won't SMB actually use the network interface and cause data transfer, while actually being on the same machine?
-
Unable to mount share to CentOS 8
Gday all, I do not have much experience with linux based systems at all, but for Shinobi i was asked to try CentOS 8 as its base OS. So far so good. However, compared to ubuntu 20.04, it seems to have dropped the support for mounting with 9p all together, while i do still need to mount a share. The tag i created in the VM, how would i go about mounting that to a dir on CentOS 8? The regular 'mount -t 9p -o trans=virtio' command results into the issue 'unkown file system 9p'.

No signal to HDMI with pass-thru GPU after upgrading to 6.9.2
Is it your primary or secondary according to the VM template? If you check, in the windows VM, does it show a 2nd screen even if there is none?

VNC + dedicated graphics
Gday all, I have a couple of windows VM's, primarily for acces purposes but in the near future for more home work related purposes. The template to set up VM's offers to add a 2ndary graphics card. Now i have set 2 VM's up with primary graphics being VNC and 2ndary graphics being a GT710 (i have 2 in the machine so each has their own, nothing shared). Whenever i load the VM, i can see in task manager that the GT710's are detected. However, the VM doesn't use them and uses the primary (VNC) instead, which ofcourse gives additional load to the cpu. This happens both when connecting via Qemu and when actually accessing it through KVM (so both with an actual screen as via remote desktop means). When i switch the GT710's to primary adapter, i am not able to add VNC as 2ndary adapter. How would i get the VM to actually use the GPU, without losing the VNC ability? --edit-- forcing it thru windows for applications specific gives . . . crap performance

[Support] ich777 - Application Dockers
I have a static ip from the ISP I know for fact nothing has changed for my ISP as i work at said ISP edit: the only thing that has changed, is that i went from a ryzen platform to an epyc platform.

[Support] ich777 - Application Dockers
copied from wrong thread: i don't know why, but when using the host option with teamspeak dockers, i keep getting time outs on the clients. Didn't have this before. From the point i assigned it a dedicated ip, it has been stable for 24 hours . . . (or atleast till now) Any idea why this is @ich777 ( i assume its an unraid thing, but can't be sure)
