Unraid kann in ZFS snapshots via plugin / commandline. Spindown sollte funktionieren, wenn der komplette Disk-Controller an die VM durchgereicht wird würde ich sagen. Der Vorteil ist, dass es die Abkapselung von UnraidOS zu VM/Docker ermöglicht. Somit sind z.B. bei einem Update des UnraidOS mit anschließendem Neustart andere Services noch online (z.B. vaultwarden). Alternative wäre natürlich zwei getrennte Systeme zu betreiben. Ist ja für Selfhosting alles kein MUSS, aber schöner wohnen :-)

Als Neuling in dem Bereich würde ich dir - sofern auch andere von deinen Services betroffen sind - raten, einen Dienst bei einem deutschen Hoster zu suchen, auf welchem Nextcloud per Klick installierbar ist. Man bekommt keine gute Reputation, wenn Services manchmal nicht funktionieren. Omi hat schlagartig eine steife Hüfte, wenn die Enkelbilder Sonntag abend plötzlich nicht mehr abrufbar sind ;-) Wenn du das Risiko nicht scheust, dann kann ich Pangolin (Traefik) empfehlen. Hier kannst du via Gerbil einen Tunnel zu einem VPS aufbauen. Möchtest du keinen VPS nutzen und direkt deine Services via Reverse Proxy exposen, klappt das auch (hier ohne Gerbil). Es wird Geoblocking, IP-Blocking, PfadBlocking, 2FA unterstützt. Konfigurierbar sind deine internen Verbindungen vom Reverse-Proxy zu den Services via labels oder in der Pangolin-Gui. EDIT: Hatte ipv6 überlesen :-) . Dann würde ich sagen klappts ohne Gerbil nicht.

Hallo zusammen, ich spiele schon öfter mit dem Gedanken Unraid in Proxmox laufen zu lassen. Mit der -wohl kommenden- Neuerung, dass zukünftig kein USB Stick mehr nötig ist, würde mich das ganze noch mehr ansprechen. Daten würde ich immer auf Unraid liegen lassen und VMs sowie Container (innerhalb VMs) würde ich in Proxmox verwalten. Unraid Spindown der HDDs Cache Parity Einfache Handhabung Proxmox Snapshot Funktion via ZFS Sync zu anderem Node (Hier vor allem Docker / VM für mich Interessant) Gute Kapselung via Container innerhalb VM möglich Bestimmte Services MUSS ich immer online haben Nachteile die ich sehe/erwarte: Höhere Komplexität (kann natürlich auch positiv behaftet sein, wenn man was lernen möchte) Zusätzliche Layer somit Performanceverlust erwartet Habt ihr mit so einem Gedanken schon einmal gespielt bzw. was ist eure Meinung dazu ? Bitte kein Proxmox Bashing sondern eine technische Diskussion / Erfahrungsaustausch. (Unraid wird hier eh keiner Bashen :-) ) VG

Hi, i sometimes get "connection refused" when trying to connect via ssh to my local unraid server. If i disable and enable ssh in the WebUi again it works as expected. If the connection is refused i didn´t see any entry in the system-log. @JorgeB returning to "image" had not solved the issue. After that i switched back to directory and restarted the server. Now the issue seems to be gone. I have to start a few containers to see if everything works as expected. If there are any issues i will repost with diagnostics. Thank you for your help !

Hi guys, since changing from docker on "image" to "directory" with overlay2 i have problems starting my containers. I do not know where the problem with "all predefined address pools have been fully subnetted" comes from. I already tried to switch to macvlan and back to ipvlan, but i was not successfull with this idea. Would be great if anybody can help me. The compose from the following example is: Thank you

I recognized that my system can reach C10, if the NVME Cache is connected to the chipset instead of directly to the CPU. I do not really understand why, but if the NVME is connected directly to the CPU i only reach C6. Does anyone know why this happens ? Unluckily the bottom slot has no additional cooling. To be honest the power difference is not that big between C6 and C10 in my case. System: CPU: 12600K Mainboard: MSI B760I Edge Wifi RAM: 32GB DDR5

Hallo zusammen, ich nutze seit langem Wireguard. Nun hat sich die Situation ergeben, dass ich öfter Daten und Docker-Services über das Internet teilen möchte/muss. Nachdem ich jetzt einige Zeit NginxProxyManager verwendet habe, dachte ich mir ich wechsel auf Pangolin zusammen mit Crowdsec und einem Bouncer. Ich bin aber scheinbar zu doof, die Kombination ohne Gerbil und Cloudflare zum laufen zu bekommen. Pangolin ohne Crowdsec läuft bereits, aber am Crowdsec+Bouncer happerts noch. Kennt jemand einen Guide, der diese Kombination ohne VPN Tunnel sauber beschreibt ? It sounds good. But if i activate the "enhanced" script i cant see my old scripts anymore. If i disable the your plugin the scripts are visible. If i click on export, all scripts are exported as expected. Is it only a browser problem or do i have to handle old scripts in a specific way ? Thank you I didnt saw that i can uncollapse the "Uncategorized Userscripts" by clicking on the orange bar. Epic fail :-) Everything seems ok now ;-)

Hi guys, i already created some ISOs of my DVDs. Im wondering if i can somehow throw them on the ARM to convert to a media format jellyfin can handle. Container is already running, but i dont understand how to "mount" the ISOs into it to get the process starting. Thank you

Sind denn die Netzwerkprobleme mit dem Gigabyte B760i Aorus Pro immer noch da oder wurde das inzwischen via BiosUpdate oder der neuen Unraid Major gefixt ?

@DataCollector Asrock hat ich inzwischen zurückgemeldet. Leider mit wenig hilfreichem Feedback Das es ein Problem von Unraid ist möchte ich - fast - ausschließen. Mit dem aktuellen Ubuntu wird mit ASPM auch als "Not Supported" angezeigt. Das Bios *.bin habe ich mir auch schon angesehen, hier gibt es jede Menge Einstellungen bzgl. der Konfiguration von PCIe. Jedoch werden diese Einstellungen aufgrund von Flags ausgeblendet ( Userlevel, HW etc. ). Ein Modifiziertes BIOS konnte ich leider nicht flashen, da hier der ASROCK preFlash Check fehlschlägt. (ungültiges BIN). Ich denke am Ende komme ich auf meinen Eingangspost zurück. Ich werde die Hardware abstoßen müssen und seh mit auf dem LGA1700 Markt (Threads hier) um. Bis hierhin jedenfalls @DataCollector @Timmey85 vielen Dank für den Wertvollen Input. Reicher an Erfahrungen bin ich auf jeden Fall geworden. Noch eine kurze - für mich - Interessante Info. Nach dem setzen eines BIOS Passworts tauchte mindestens eine Einstellung bzgl. des Chipsets mehr im BIOS auf. Nach dem Login via Passwort ist man scheinbar in einem anderen Userlevel.
