  1. Well in a Time were we have multiple really Dangerous CVEs out there you shouldnt do stuff on People who rely on your seriousness.
  2. So i was look at the Apps Tab like i always do and saw this? Did i missed a Memo or why are all the Pictures changed to random persons?
  5. - well do you boot in gui mode and dont have another gpu then unraid gonna use the igpu - also there was a setting to be made, sth like /dev/dri or sth like that i dont remember. - also you need plex pass docker for the encodig if i remember correctly
  6. i think its a fair price if you look into the normal company world, but i still think not many or better said not someone with a huge problem will take it.
  7. I have another take on it. Yes its open source or better say you can build it yourself but limetech is so kindly to bundle it with a nice gui, many things in the background and you can update the whole bunch with a simple update button. So i would prefer a voluntarily option instead of the new model. So the Users can choose what they want to pay and in what interval they like to pay. i Think there are many of us who can easily send you some dollars or even hundreds per month just because they like the product at it is
  8. I think you gonna loose a lot new customers to alternatives like proxmox and so on. Its the same as always when people hear they need to pay for a server system for updates they can just use some other virtualization which is free to use
  9. you can use the scipt by i think spaceinvader to lower the cpu power draw in unraid with the VM shut off: #!/bin/bash # check for driver command -v nvidia-smi &> /dev/null || { echo >&2 "nvidia driver is not installed you will need to install this from community applications ... exiting."; exit 1; } echo "Nvidia drivers are installed" echo echo "I can see these Nvidia gpus in your server" echo nvidia-smi --list-gpus echo echo "-------------------------------------------------------------" # set persistence mode for gpus ( When persistence mode is enabled the NVIDIA driver remains loaded even when no active processes, # stops modules being unloaded therefore stops settings changing when modules are reloaded nvidia-smi --persistence-mode=1 #query power state gpu_pstate=$(nvidia-smi --query-gpu="pstate" --format=csv,noheader); #query running processes by pid using gpu gpupid=$(nvidia-smi --query-compute-apps="pid" --format=csv,noheader); #check if pstate is zero and no processes are running by checking if any pid is in string if [ "$gpu_pstate" == "P0" ] && [ -z "$gpupid" ]; then echo "No pid in string so no processes are running" fuser -kv /dev/nvidia* echo "Power state is" echo "$gpu_pstate" # show what power state is else echo "Power state is" echo "$gpu_pstate" # show what power state is fi echo echo "-------------------------------------------------------------" echo echo "Power draw is now" # Check current power draw of GPU nvidia-smi --query-gpu=power.draw --format=csv exit In the Windows VM try Nvidia GPU Power Management Tool or nvidia inspector
  10. Well i have the importer path set in the docker edit menu i Have the external path for my user set to /import I Have added a new external lib with the /import as var Still it doesnt seem to work, always shows 0 bytes Any Ideas why it doesnt import at all? Also did the 3 dots and imported Notice, i have 2 Folders in the immich importer path (pictures and videos) which are synced from my pc
  11. Updated aswell, but vm still doesnt work, well it boots and then starts automatic repair, but vfio_map_dma failed is still there
  12. Hey, just wanted to ask, did you try to game on it? im building a system with a 13900k, but i want to have a win11 vm for gaming and so on. but kinda scared of performance issues ngl
  13. TBH i dont think its a good idea to use the newest amd gen for now. i read a lot and it seems like the linux kernel dont always like new CPU gens. Also im really unsure if i should buy an ryzen 5950x because, it costs 579€, but the 5900x costs only around 399€. I dislike the Idead to pay so much for "only" 4 more cors. Im also thinking about going to Intel for the Server. I have to collect more money before my unraid goes live, but atleast i already bought the unraid pro License
  14. Hello all together, i have a really important Question, im planing to do an Unraid Server Build in the End of this Year (Waiting for Black Fridays). But i cant decide between the AMD 5950X and the AMD 7900X. It will replace my Current Gaming PC before it will become my Server. Server Usage: 1 Gaming VM for my Living Room (Racing Games like FH4) using Parsec to connect to it. Win 10/11 Multiple Dockers HomeAssistant VM VMs (Development Purposes and so on [not all running at the same time hopefully] Plex Server Bitwarden Server AnyDesk Like Server The Server will get a 3060TI for passing it to the Gaming VM Question: Can i pass the same GPU to Different VMs if they are not running at the same Time? AMD 5950x: + 16 Cores + Cheaper than the 7900X AMD 7900X: + more expensive + 12 cores (only) - may not work with unraid couldnt find any infos Mainboard Prices are around the same for both (looking for max 350€). I Will start with 4x 10TB WD Red. BTW why is the 3900X still so expensive if there are "better" newer CPUs? I hope i am in the correct Topic, sorry if not. VG 0xMDIV
