  1. Thanks for trying to help, but after doing as you suggested, I still have the same problem.
  2. Hi all Today I bought a new AMD GPU which I'm planning on using as part of a Mac VM. After installing it I selected the GPU and it's sound output to bind at boot so I can pass it through. Then I rebooted the server. Then I was thinking that I probably need to install a plugin for it so I found it and installed it. After rebooting again, unRAID says there is an issue and can't autostart any of my VM's, even though they have nothing to do with this GPU. I checked in the settings to see if the card is still set to bind at boot but for some reason it's no longer listed at all. What's going on, and what should 8 look into doing to fix this? The Diagnostic file is below. Thanks in advance!! tower-diagnostics-20240408-2157.zip
  3. Solved the issue. I went and downloaded the bios online father than extracting it. Then I edited the file using a Hex Editor on my mobile phone and removed a section just prior to where it states that it's a video card. I then replaced the rom file in the template with this new edited one, and immediately Windows recognised the GPU.
  4. Hi all I've been trying to sort this issue out for quite a while on my own to no avail. I'm hoping someone smarter than me can point me in the right direction. I've created a VM for my son running Windows 11. I first created it using VNC for it's output so I could start is setup remotely. Here are the settings I used. The boot order has since changed so it boots off the drive, and I removed the VNC output and it's now setup using an NVIDIA GeForce 1080ti for video and sound. I have also extracted the GPU's bios and I have it entered into the above. Windows knew to download the NVIDIA dashboard but when we try to open it, this is what comes up: Elsewhere in the Windows system it states it's using a Microsoft Basic Display driver. We also have no sound. No red flags in Device Manager. I haven't tried the VM without attaching the rom file for the GPU. I've seen some instructions stating that this file needs to be edited first, but others don't say to to this, which is what I've followed. What should my next step be? Thanks in advance!!!
  5. It's working now. * Checked the unRAID thumb drive and it seemed to be working fine. * Copied everything on it and saved a copy on the laptop. * I noticed that the EFI folder had the little - after it, not sure why but anyways, I removed it. * I then ran the make bootable file. It still didn't seem to work, so I decided to reset the BIOS. After doing so, I turned the computer on, then it ran for a couple seconds, turned off, and then turned back on again. I then got confirmation on the monitor that unRAID had booted. I logged in via IP address and it's all up and running. Maybe later I'll try and gain access to the BIOS to make changes, but at the moment it's running. I do have a Windows VM that had my video card attached to it, so I might have to make BIOS changes to get that working, but that's for another day. While this time I didn't get any replies to my help request, I have received heaps of help in the past and using some of that info was what enabled me to get my server running again. So thanks everyone!!
  6. I just put the breakout board that allows me to install more hard drives, back exactly how it was. Now I don't even think it's booting into the bios. It might still be, but I'm getting nothing on the monitor. This is frustrating!!!! I'm gonna plug the unRAID USB into another PC to see if it's working. Will report back.
  7. Hi all So yeah, my unRAID server won't boot for some reason.... I had 3 graphics cards connected and my son is about to build his first computer, so I was only using one of mine so I gave the others to him. I stopped the computer, removed the video cards for him, I also moved a breakout board or whatever it's called that lets me connect more drives; it's just connected to a different pci slot. When I turn the computer on, it just goes into the bios. I told it to boot first from the unRAID thumb drive, which is still in its original spot, but it just goes back into the bios. I remember having to backup the thumb drive and then reinstalling unRAID to it, but it was a long time ago. I really need to get it back online asap as it's not been running for a couple days, so I thought I'd post my question and now I'll do some searching. Thanks everyone!
  8. All good now. At the bottom it had the prompt to format that drive. So I selected it and it's all working as it should.
  9. Done. Thank you for your help! Now I have this: Now I am about to search how to fix this and I'll be then sorted until I can afford to purchase more drives.
  10. Don't need any data on the shared pool. No I don't have any Parity drives. I am starting a new job soon and am planning on getting one soon after. I do have a lot of stuff on the server, but nothing I can't replace.
  11. I'm not keen on doing it either, but my drives are almost at capacity. I might be able to hack the enclosure so I can connect via sata and still power it if my computer's power supply doesn't have enough power cords. I may have another power supply somewhere, which will mean I'll have power. If this is the case, what would the steps be to transition?
  12. Hi all My array is fast filling up, but unfortunately right now I don't have spare cash to purchase more drives. So I plan on rearranging what I already have as I'm currently not using all the drives I have attached. Before I do so, I just need some advice on how to go about it so I don't stuff things up. I would like to add the drive which is highlighted in red, to the array. It's currently a cache drive for just my BitTorrent files. It is an external drive but I'm going to pull the drive out and attach it internally, so long as I have enough power cords for it. I would then like to place the green highlighted drive as that cache drive. A couple of extra questions: * If I don't have any spare power for the drive for it to be internal, I know I can still add it to the array, but if I do so as it is, what will I have to do in the future when I am able to install it internally? * Will the drives just slot into the correct position as it's identified but the actual drive and not how it's connected? * Once I make the physical changes, what do I then do? Thanks in advance! You guys are always awesome!!!!
  13. Did you ever get this figured out? In any case I'm so glad for your post because I was struggling to get this working. Every time I would check the IP address when I looked it up it was showing my own country, despite choosing another country. What I had done was I missed the extra part I had to add on the QUERY bit. Once I added that, I finally had success. Next I'll be working on the same thing you are above. If i can get it working, I'll let you know. I have routed containers before like this and if I remember correctly I had to use a very different IP address to access the container. My local IP addresses start with 192 but I think the addresses to the containers changed to ones that started with 127. Anyways, I'm rambling now..... Just a little excited that after many hours I finally have this working!!
  14. I just tried copying whoever file and it didn't work either. Thought I'd share this screenshot for giggles. Note the percentage lol
  15. I was just rereading your post and picked up on this. Thank you for not just giving me a hand with my issue, but also going that bit further. My cache is made up from 3 NVMe drives, one of which I have from an old PC build and it only fairly small, so hopefully if the issue is a device, that it's it. What I plan to do going forward is to just use 2 of those drives as my cache, and use the smallest drive as an unassigned drive. Is this as simple as stopping the array and then making the changes while also reformatting the drives? My guess is it's not that simple as unRAID will be expecting 3 drives as the cache. Keen to also know your thoughts on which type of file system is recommended.
  16. I thought I'd try to copy some files just to see if it works. I've only tried with one so far, and it got to 100%, but it doesn't seem to be concluding. Is this because it's picked up the fact that there is an issue with the file?
  17. Thanks heaps for looking into this for me. I will take note of what is affected by the files which are remaining before I proceed. Can I confirm that what I need to do next is to take the array offline and then reformat my cache? What file system should I be using?
  18. Hi all I've been having issues with my cache so I want to format the drives. The problem I'm having though is that I can't get the files moved from the cache. I have already stopped VMs and Docker. In the 2 actual shares that won't move I've told it to do a move and still files stay. I've tried really hard to solve this myself without asking for help, but I don't know what else to do. I've tried moving the files but they won't move. Attached is the Diagnostic File. Thanks in advance!tower-diagnostics-20231218-1953.ziptower-diagnostics-20231218-1953.zip
  19. I'm still stuck with this issue. If no one is able to help I guess I'll uninstall the containers and set them up again, and hopefully they will work again. I just don't understand why this would happen all of a sudden....
  20. G'day again! I've had this issue occur a few times since it first happened, and this solution has fixed it each time. But what would actually cause this to happen?
  21. No one has any ideas? If anyone thinks that I should of posted this in a different section, please let me know. Cheers!
  22. Hi all For the last couple days I haven't been able to access some of my Dockers. So far, Sonarr and Qbittorrent aren't accessible. Both have been recently updated. I'm just a noob at this stuff, but it seems like maybe the network settings have changed, but I don't know how that works have happened, as I didn't change anything. I can access Radarr but it's throwing errors saying that it can't communicate with Qbittorrent. I have no idea what to do from here. The unRAID log file is fast filling up too. Attached is the diagnostic file. Appreciate any advice given!! Thanks!tower-diagnostics-20231123-1226.zip
  23. Hey all I wasn’t sure where this should be posted. Please feel free to move it if there is a more appropriate place for this post to be. I have my unRaid server setup so I have 2 different cache pools. One is setup as per the usual recommended setup, and the other is a 4GB Sata drive which is setup for my media. I set it up this way so as I get most of my media using torrents so while they are downloading they go on this cache drive and once they are complete they then can go over to the array when Mover runs. Unfortunately we are all still waiting on an update on the Mover function where we can see its status. For me this is an issue as over the last 3 days every time I check my server, Mover is running. I am assuming that Mover has been running all this time. So I had the thought that maybe I should stop the downloading torrents and wait for Mover to catch up and eventually finish, but will this mean that when I resume the torrents they will be writing directly to the array, or will those files move back over to the cache drive? Or am I doing this wrong? I don’t do heaps of downloading, sometimes I’ll do a lot, but most of the time very little is happening. I set it up this way because I thought writings directly to the array would slow things down, but things are running pretty slow right now. What’s happening right now is there are 40 torrents going onto the cache drive while Mover is happening and with all the work this one drive is having to do with a that, the download speed is suffering greatly. I’m very keen to hear anyone’s thoughts on what I should do.
