  1. i guess you got 2 choices start troubleshooting http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Troubleshooting OR replace the drive if you think it's not the cables and then rebuild from parity
  2. I am by no means any sort of expert in unRAID BUT i found this Physical Drive Issues These are actual errors from the drive itself, perhaps a failing drive, or perhaps just failing sectors. In general, you will always want to Obtain a SMART report for the drive. [edit] Drive media issue #1 A typical example: ata3.00: cmd 60/00:10:4f:80:81/04:00:66:00:00/40 tag 2 ncq 524288 in res 41/40:64:eb:80:81/85:03:66:00:00/40 Emask 0x409 (media error) <F> ata3.00: status: { DRDY ERR } ata3.00: error: { UNC } These are almost always associated with bad sectors. They should be confirmed by examining a SMART report. See the Troubleshooting page, Obtaining a SMART report section. Then run a SMART long test (instructions in same section), to locate the bad sectors. You may need to seek advice as to what to do next, as it will depend on your specific situation. as this error occurs in you log i got the info from this page http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/The_Analysis_of_Drive_Issues
  3. how could you just add the preclear signature would you not have to go through the whole preclear again? and i would like P+Q Redundancy as well, but not sure of the roadmap of this functionally ?
  4. found this.. "The fundamental operation of most CPUs, regardless of the physical form they take, is to execute a sequence of stored instructions called a program. The program is represented by a series of numbers that are kept in some kind of computer memory. There are four steps that nearly all CPUs use in their operation: fetch, decode, execute, and writeback. The first step, fetch, involves retrieving an instruction (which is represented by a number or sequence of numbers) from program memory. The location in program memory is determined by a program counter (PC), which stores a number that identifies the current position in the program. After an instruction is fetched, the PC is incremented by the length of the instruction word in terms of memory units. Often, the instruction to be fetched must be retrieved from relatively slow memory, causing the CPU to stall while waiting for the instruction to be returned. This issue is largely addressed in modern processors by caches and pipeline architectures" from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_processing_unit just really interested to know the cause as i did not know about this....
  5. does this mean that one of the cores is bad.. ? first time i heard of that
  6. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=16394.0;attach=8909 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=16394.msg150964#msg150964 how does iOS get this information from the server in the first place ? if iOS can get it surely then an android app can get it.
  7. Are there any decent android apps that can monitor unRAID like iSTAT.. or is someone out there writing some code to do anything close ?
  8. Thank you for taking the time to write this. he's alive [ ]
  9. you people are missing the point ENTIRELY ... Tom himself said he would start regular updates (blogs) etc. with us but he didn't so I think an answer for that would be a nice start.
  10. I have been using unraid for 2 years and I am also frustrated by the lack of communication from Limetech. I have come to the conclusion though that it is completely pointless complaining as Tom never responds to it. Once v5 final has been released I plan on not returning to these forums unless I really have to. +1 but the biggest worry i have is that Tom himself appointed these moderators, but yet he has NO communication with them either..??!! They are forum moderators, not vice presidents of limetech with decision making abilities in regards to how he operates the company. (With no disrespect to them), don't assume or imply they have more power than they actually do no assumption was made but on all boards i read daily the mods DO have interaction with the owners!!!

  12. could this help you... http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=23117.msg204409#msg204409 you need to know that no reason to panic as the drives can be read separately under linux
  13. i must admit one of the more helpful signatures on the forum... thanks
  14. really ?!! is that necessary ? I don't know, is it? A lot of people there believed the next communication would be 2013. Tom has been AWOL many times and shown us often an unacceptable level of commitment towards delivering a stable product customers have paid for. He could always come on to these very forums and defend himself. umm no, you PAID for the 4.x vesion NOT the 5.x version. Also if you have been around long enough this isn't the first time this has happened and probably won't be the last. If I were him everytime I see a comment like that I would just put off communication even longer. I'm sure he wants to get version 5 out as fast as he can but somethings just don't always work out the way you want. Which is broken/has major bugs. how have these bugs affected you? please post so we can understand the real world impact of them and not just the theoretical understanding that they exist. thanks
  15. lol brilliant i want him to give Kono my best... :

  17. i have to agree about the love hate relationship in the beginning, i used to use gbpvr for plain ease of use as a media player. i used to just use xbmc for fun then i decided to just use xbmc full time and have not looked back since... it has features that nothing else has imho it's the best media player [full stop].
