  1. Showing "Up To Date". Super minor issue anyhow. It'll be great though not having to go back and read the directions on the rare occasions when I have to preclear a disk. Sometimes I miss important steps.
  2. This is outstanding!!! Did I install the wrong version of the plugin though? I thought the spelling for cicle had been corrected. I installed this one- http://bit.ly/1G44UhZ Maybe there's an updated version somewhere else with notification support?
  3. I've been trying to install this plugin without success. I copied the link in the OP to the "Install Plugin" text field and I see the icon in "User Utilities" but when I click it I see "Script Not Present". Is there something else I need to install as well?
  4. How would I add this script to v6?
  5. I'm planning on upgrading to v6 sometime in the next week or so and trying to get at least a rough list of dockers and such that will also need to be installed. With the expanded functionality of v6, many of the features I currently use unMenu for are handled except for DS_Store cleanup. I see that unMenu is being updated to v6 so I'm guessing that cleanup is still supported there, but it seems like a waste of resources to install it just to run one package. Is there a simpler way in v6 to accomplish the cleanup on a cron schedule?
  6. I'm still working on updating to v6.0 so I'm not quite ready to install this, but trying to get my ducks in a row ahead of time. I'm not much good with Linux and not quite sure what to do with this command. Do I just telnet in and run the wget command after I install this plugin? Or maybe before I install the plugin? Just to be sure I'm understanding correctly, the plugin will include notification options with this version of preclear?
  7. I never realized it was possible to setup multiple time machine volumes. Thanks.
  8. How do you limit the size for each time machine backup?
  9. i have a single 1tb drive used for timemachine backups, and 2 user shares for file backup, i want to set a 100gb limit per user share I have pretty much the same problem. 3 computers that I backup to a single hd mounted on an Airport. The only thing that keeps me from using my unRaid is the fact that I can't limit the size of the file. My MacPro would take over the whole share. Would be very nice to be able to install a 6TB HDD and allocate 1TB to each TM backup and the balance to my Media share since empty slots are in short supply.
  10. Don't know about comments, but you can just cut/paste the "menu default" line which is just as easy. That's true but I'm sure that a couple of years from now when I'm trying to figure out "How I booted into Safe Mode last time" I won't remember what I did. Sometimes it helps to leave notes for myself. On the other hand, I probably won't even remember which cfg file to use so it wouldn't matter anyway.
  11. You should be able to see it with IPMI. Just bring up the IPMI display before you start the PC with IPMI then you can see the bios as well as the unRAID boot screen. Yes thanks. I seldom use IPMI unless I'm making changes to bios so I don't usually see any startup screens. Actually I'll probably just make the changes to syslinux.cfg as bkastner described. The boot screen pops up for such a short time that's it's a real pain trying to select something other than the default. I'd like to know though, can I use commented lines in syslinux.cfg? That way I could add the default code for all 3 options with comments and just delete comments for whatever option I wanted to boot into.
  12. It's on the boot screen with memtest right. I knew I had seen it somewhere. I just use IPMI when booting (headless) so I don't normally see that menu. Thanks.
  13. It should be an option when you boot up the unraid server. Check the syslinux.cfg in your flash drive to see it is an option before rebooting. I see a line in the file that says Safe Mode (No Plugins). Don't know how to set this option though.
  14. I see in the first few pages of this thread that I should be running my server in safe mode to run the tunables script. I can see how to start the server in Maintenance Mode from the main page of the web gui, but I don't see anything called safe mode. Google found a few references but no description of how to launch it. How do I start in safe mode?
  15. The last 4TB I did took about 100 hours. I'm sure this varies some from one system to another. It could save you a bunch of time if bad sectors are found though.
  16. just finished preclearing a new 4tb WD Red. Don't expect any problems, but I'd like to get opinions from someone better qualified than I am. Reports attached. preclear_start_WD-WCC4E1579125_2014-05-29.txt preclear_finish_WD-WCC4E1579125_2014-05-29.txt preclear_rpt_WD-WCC4E1579125_2014-05-29.txt
  17. It does support Notification Center notifications, so you will get notified if a disk is overheating or has errors. Awesome! As far as I'm concerned email notifications are no longer needed then. Especially if this feature is also included in the iPhone app?????
  18. I haven't got my server up and running yet. Later this week I hope. Was wondering if the OSX app supports notifications via Notification Center with Mavericks? I like the iPhone screenshots btw. Black is beautiful.
