  1. Is this possible? When it goes to sleep I either have to use WOL or resume via the GUI. Would passing through an entire usb controller to the VM allow this to work as intended?
  2. Could you try connecting it to the motherboard SATA instead?
  3. Are all your sticks identical or is it a mix and match?
  4. Not sure, windows would usually take care of it on it's own, but if it works, it works
  5. its the basic display adapter, I'm betting you have a code 43 on it.
  6. Unraid does work with m.2 to pci-e adapters as used one for a time with an intel nvme drive. Whether it works with that particular card I don't know, it depends if any drivers are necessary for it to see the drives correctly. If it's driver-less it'll probably work just fine.
  7. So, what if you install teamviewer then remote into it, is the gpu showing up in device manager?
  8. What's happens if you change the HDD IMG to windows in the Ubuntu one?
  9. It needs to be in its own group, that has a PCI bridge in the there too, you might need to use ACS override to split the group's further. Are you saying Linux VMs under unraids QEMU work fine? If you have 2 cards in your system you should only have to supply the vbios and stub to primary card, secondary card wouldn't have been initialised by unraid. If primary card is properly stubbed, terminal on the monitor should stop long before the login prompt.
  10. You can easily stub the card by installing this, it must be in its own iommu group though.
  11. Do you actually have 2 GPU's installed at the moment? Why not just try with the 900 series for now as that is a more recent card. Which card is primary?
  12. Are you booting unraid in legacy mode? What happens on bootup, does the text freeze on the screen at a certain point or do you see the login prompt? If stubbing is working, it should stop around the line where it mentions VGA. Try with a very basic VM, do Q35 with OVMF, leave hyper V on for now, don't attach any drives and see if you get the EFI boot screen.
  13. Why Seabios? I use OVMF. If your vBIOS doesn't support UEFI it will never work. I had to get rid of the 610 and replace it with a 710 because of this.
  14. Create a new XML and set everything via the GUI, don't change anything in the XML for now. I would suggest you dump your own vbios from within windows, then strip the header out. My BIOS dump in unraid didn't work, but the official BIOS from MSI did.
  15. I recall lstopo being used to generate a graphic showing which PCI lanes are connected to which cou cores, however when I run it I get command not found, has it been removed in newer builds?
  16. It will do that anyway, no special procedure is needed.
  17. And it's working! I used a bios from techpowerup but it crashed the host when it switched mode before entering windows, I found a raw dump of the bios here https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=290154.0 and stripped the header out using a hexeditor. The other thing I've noticed is the VM templates get really messed up if you switch between XML and the UI, I ended up having to delete the template and creating it again, then making my XML edits and that's it. So just to confirm, this is working with the following syslinux.cfg on my Asus TUF B450-PLUS running bios revision 2008 kernel /bzimage append vfio-pci.ids=10de:128b,10de:0e0f pcie_aspm=off iommu=pt video=efifb:off initrd=/bzroot
  18. I've got this working now, but odd behaviour with virtio, if I mount the hdd.img file with SATA it gives me a display, if I mount with VirtIO, I get nothing. Edit: Just changed the BUS value for the .img file to 0x04 and changed the graphics card back to 0x03 which it was set to in the working XML and that appears to work but then it doesnt detect any storage in the VM? Here are the two XML's to compare: Working <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <domain type='kvm'> <name>Test</name> <uuid>87251a8a-0b7f-e716-80b7-81be2bb1e5a7</uuid> <metadata> <vmtemplate 19. So I've tried quite a few things to get this to work, non of which were successful. I've added various options to my syslinux, it currently is append vfio-pci.ids=10de:128b,10de:0e0f pcie_aspm=off iommu=pt video=efifb:off initrd=/bzroot I've updated my motherboard bios from 2006 to 2008 (which is currently the latest) to no avail. The only consistent message I see is in the syslog: kernel: vfio-pci 0000:07:00.0: No more image in the PCI ROM I've googled it until my eyes bleed but I cannot find what this message means or a solution. 😔
  20. Tried the custom kernel for 6.8.3 and my boot process hangs when it's detecting drives, any thoughts?
  21. I purchased an MSI GT710 2GB DDR3 in order to use it with my Windows 10 VM, my system does not have a second GPU and there is no IGPU as my CPU is a Ryzen 5 2600, this should be possible from reading and watching spaceinvaderone's videos but all that happens is that the monitor goes blank and then reports no signal when I start the VM. I have the GPU in the slot nearest the CPU and my HBA in the second slot, I have dumped the bios from the card and also tried the one from techspot to no avail. What are my next steps? edit: eventually the system log fills up with: May 21 14:13:00 Tower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:03.1: AER: Multiple Corrected error received: 0000:00:00.0 May 21 14:13:00 Tower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:03.1: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Data Link Layer, (Receiver ID) May 21 14:13:00 Tower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:03.1: device [1022:1453] error status/mask=00000080/00006000 May 21 14:13:00 Tower kernel: pcieport 0000:00:03.1: [ 7] BadDLLP and then crashes the entire system tower-diagnostics-20200521-1710.zip
  22. How well does the GT710 actually do HW transcoding?
  23. there is most likely your issue, the array isn't meant for lots of i/o which torrents cause, I use an unassigned drive for my downloading/seeding.
  24. What are you storing your torrents on? cache drive? unassigned?
  25. Your configuration is broken if thats the case, directly play should use minimal cpu.
