Are you sure your hardware is ok? I would set up the drive using eac following the Flemming guide on a bare metal machine. if you are getting the same issues, then it's a hardware issue. If not. Then at least you know your hardware is fine. I have my disc drive plugged in via sata, and then it should be in its own vfio group. There should not be any other devices. If the disc drive is showing up with other devices in the same vfio group. Then I would suggest switching sata ports on the motherboard, as some are used by other parts of the board. Simply tick to bound the sata device that your disc drive is plugged into. Restart your vm and there should be an option in the vm template to tick and pass though the sata disc drive to the VM. your disc drive should then show up in Windows explorer and thus eac would then pick up the disc drive fine. hope this helps

I have been able to archive cds using eac without issue with a Windows 11 vm. That is what I would suggest to use rather than dbpoweramp due to having better accuracy and logging. I have this very irritating issue. In which, whenever I open teracopy or go to move a file using teracopy. The Windows 11 vm crashes. If i use the vm as a normal bare metal system. Teracopy works fine. It's only when it is running as a vm that I get crashing issues. I never had such an issue on 23h2. It's only after upgrading to 24h2 that this happens. It does not matter if I use the Windows store, winget, normal exe or portable. All results in the same problem. I am happy to attach a dump log which may point to what Windows 11 24h2 has changed.

Hi there, I have posted diagnostics and i still have an issue with this. I have checked all settings in bios and made sure settings are near to default as possible. I am not sure if its due to having ipmi enabled that in the latest update this has been added or if its a setting in the web interface that fixes this issue.

Is there an option or way to choose where downloaded items go? It may be best adding that as an option and set the default to /tmp so that downloads go into ram rather than hard drive to reduce storage used and wear.

Yeah, that's what i thought i would need to do. Im not sure if it's a technical limitation of sata or by design. But it's easy in hindsight when building a system. I could always scrap the docker and use the installer in the vm.

I Have a disc drive that is passed through to a windows vm. However, it's quite understandable that I can't use both the vm and makemkv docker due to conflict of use. However, I am wondering if its possible to shut down the vm and then use makemkv I tried shutting down the vm. But the disc drives does not show up. Likely due bound to vfioboot. In hardware groups it on its own as IOMMU group 48: [1b21:0612] 27:00.0 How could I use that info to pass the disc drive through to the docker container when the vm is turned off and visa versa?

Edited post and yes it seems to be able to read fan speed using ipmi, but not do anything in auto fan.

Whoa, certain information has come to light. Thank you. When I load the ipmi plugin, it does detect the current fan speed on the cpu cooler and chipset.

Hi there, I was pointed to using the ipmi plugin from @spl147 as i am wanting to add auto fan support to my Asus wrx80 board. I had a x299 that, from memory, worked out of the box without issue. I am wanting to pass though the Bluetooth module on my motherboard to the vm. I had tried to bind Wi-Fi module to selected device and then rebooted, as I'm sure the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are part of the same thing. Furthermore, I can see Bluetooth as Intel Corp. AX200 Bluetooth which when i mount to the vm. it shows up. But does not work. It has a yellow warning over the device in device manger. I had tried using the virtio iso which has drivers for things like Wi-Fi and other vm drivers and the drivers didn't want to install. Not sure how i go about updating current installed drivers with possible newer drivers on the ISO. I'm trying to get auto fan to work as unraid can pic up temperature sensors without issue. But when I go detect I get nothing. Tried Nuvoton NCT6687 and ITE IT87 plugin without any difference. Not sure if I have to reboot to activate the drivers or what. Anyone else with an Asus wrx80?

I have updated to Unraid 7, and I am running fine and my Windows 11 VM works without issue. The reason originally for using i440fx was due to the fact Windows 11 didn't want to boot off the passed though m.2 drive and seamed to only want to work if I used i440fx. Is it something I need to sort, such as switch to say q35 and see if it works or simply switch to the latest option for i440fx.

I have noticed that when creating a zip file with a diagnostic report. The zip file will sit in the /logs folder for ages. I have diagnostic files going back to 2021. I thought they would get stored in ram when the download option showed up. Furthermore, I also noticed pre clear reports as well. The idea is an option to remove old and outdated pre clear reports and diagnostic tools after a set amount of time. Say 6 months or a year.

Unfortunately, I had to remove this due to the downloaded files being saved directly into the docker IMG file. I noticed it using up a larger and larger amount of storage and thus removed it, freeing up 25GB of storage. Temporary downloaded stuff should go into ram, not directly into docker IMG file.

I would like the ability for the unraid web UI to be able to change colour based on web browser theme. The idea being that at night it's the normal black theme. But during the day or when the web browser is set to daytime or light mode, then the web ui changes to white. Finally, it would be nice to see mobile phone support, as viewing the web ui on a mobile is a little clunky.

I cant see any sign that it is. Looking at the hardware profile, I don't see the words this `This controller is bound to vfio, connected drives are not visible.` next to the gpu. Could unraid (or myself) put in a feature request upstream for it to be added. So that in future the feature gets added, and thus unraid would be able to add support? For the time being, I guess i write, set script to run at startup of first array only and turn off auto start option sleep 30 virsh start "Windows 11"
