  1. First off...LOVE this docker. Eliminated a PC that i used for handbrake and makemkv both with dockers! I went through the pages of support on this thread and to be honest 98.7% of it was over my head (63% of all statistics are made up on the spot). My question: When the files are output, i have to use MC, or krusader to modify permissions to allow others to write to them. Its not a big deal at all, but was curious if i have done something wrong in setting up my docker that this is the case? Any info is appreciated! al
  2. I'm running an older version of unraid (5.04) with below proc and 2 GB of ram and it has been running for years. It is just used for file storage and sharing tv shows, movies to the network. Only issue so far was a drive that died. Proc: AMD Sempron 145 - 2.8 GHz
  3. Love the connect by IP address option! Nice job! Appreciate the plugin!!
  4. True, i can definitely do that. Was thinking about modifying the link, but in reality, all i really have to do is hit the web page that way. Good point.
  5. This plugin is awesome! Is there a way to configure it to use my server IP address versus hostname? i looked in the shellinabox-plugin.cfg file and did not see a hostname entry. TIA al
  6. Missed that you had it reserved on your DHCP server. Thats what i do as well.
  7. Hi TedatTNT- I think i read that you are using DHCP for your server? I would probably recommend a static IP address anyway. Not sure that this would be causing the issues you describe but at least it would eliminate that variable.
  8. As i said above, I am starting to get into zone minder. I have the docker from aptalca (thanks for all your work in building these dockers BTW) and had a question regarding the model camera that works best? I saw a post about someone trying to use a USB camera and I get why that does not work (no drivers). Is there an IP POE camera that you guys have had good luck with getting to work? I was looking at the camera in my previous post, but am hesitant to spend the money if it is not going to work. Any info is greatly appreciated!
  9. patm95- I am looking to do the same thing. I have the docker setup, but am trying to research cameras now. Below is a thread on this. I am thinking about buying one of the cameras mentioned in that thread and testing with zone minder. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=44879.msg428478#msg428478
  10. Maybe you are looking for more, but one of the smart guys has a zoneminder docker. I have it installed, but have done nothing with it as of yet. Not sure what cameras would work for what i want to do (just looking for a decent HD camera that people have experience with getting to work with zone minder. Anyway, below is the topic about the docker: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=39413.0
  11. Hi SirG. Great plugin! Love it. Been testing a bit on a test server and am attempting to limit users to read only access. I have the access locked down to the directories i want, but user still has full access to that directory. I added below to /flash/config/plugins/ProFTPd/proftpd.conf and restarted ProFTPd but am still able to add directories and delete files. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?? Thanks in advance. # Limit write access to a directory and subdirs <Directory /mnt/user/media/Movies/> <Limit WRITE> DenyAll </Limit> </Directory> # Limit write access to a directory and subdirs <Directory /mnt/user/media/TVShows/> <Limit WRITE> DenyAll </Limit> </Directory> *EDIT- I think i may have messed up the config file. I noticed on the plugin page that it was running, but throwing an error on detected version. I removed, reinstalled, and added the appropriate config to the file and now it appears i have the read access i wanted. Thanks!!
  12. I just wanted to thank the OP for this docker. I'm very excited to test it out!
  13. Interesting...i have had zero issues with the 2 VM's i have now built. I have a Windows VM as well as a MAC OS X VM. This is running on some old hardware i have laying around, so they don't run super fast, but in my testing of using the Mac VM as an iTunes box, i am able to watch movies, etc. on my apple tv with no problems at all. Of course, maybe its because i am not really doing anything all that complex as of yet?
  14. So, I am just getting me feet wet here too... What do you mean by how and when and where do you load the Windows OS? Do you mean where do you put the ISO image of windows? When you setup the VM in unRAID under VM, you will want to make sure that you have copied the OS ISO file as well as the drivers ISO fils as those fields need to be populated when you are configuring your VM in unRAID. Picking number of cores...good question. Mine is just a test VM, so not doing much with it. I gave it 2 cores. Maybe someone much smarter than i am can chime in. I have the ISOs on a share on a drive in the array, but have installed Windows onto a share on the cache drive. For now, its just a spinning disk as i have not built a new final machine yet. But i would think that you are better off utilizing a SSD cache drive so that your disks will stop spinning, otherwise they will continue to spin while the VM is running. I will probably pick up a 250 GB SSD and install the VM there on my final machine. I doubt i would need that full amount of space for my VM, so i can use it for other things as well. And yes, you would use VNC from somewhere to control the VM
  15. Yes, good point. And I am a complete idiot.... I had started poking around the UPS settings but didn't even think to turn on help. It is up and slaved to the other unRAID already. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
  16. Thanks for the reply. I should have thought that as far as the VM is concerned i should be able to run the app there, but wasn't sure on another unRAID. I will keep poking around. Appreciate it!
  17. Sorry if this has been asked before (I did not find this question asked, but i may have missed it). I have two unRAID servers currently. One is my primary, the other is a test box. Eventually i will have two unRAID servers up and running. Also eventually, I will probably have another smart UPS, but for now i only have one. I can obviously get one server to shut down in the event of power loss (i have this working now) but wondering if there is a way to shut another unRAID server down in the even of a power loss on the same UPS? Sort of related question, is there a way to shut down a VM running under unRAID in the event of a power loss on the unRAID server? Any info is appreciated.
  18. unRAID actually boots and runs from that USB thumb drive. Thats the beauty of it. Disks can be used for all data.
  19. BRiT - suppose i can post the link one more time for fun? Didn't mean to offend you by reposting the link. Did i violate some etiquette I am unaware of by doing so? If so, then I apologize. ctviggen- you do have to have 2 step auth turned on. It's pretty simple to use. On a machine that you login quite a few times on, you can say that any login should be trusted and to not require 2 step authentication. Honestly with all the email hacking that is going on, you really should probably have this turned on.
  20. the application password is pretty easy to use. Here's a link with more info: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en
  21. Did you enable 2 step authentication yet? I don't think you can get an app password until you have enabled 2 step auth.
  22. Hmmm..ok. Maybe turn 2 step auth on and try that? Not certain why it would be required to use an app password, but probably worth a shot.
