dperk11
I have a brand new PC that I'm going to put UNRAID on. It doesn't have an OS yet, but I plan on putting Linux on it. I created the USB drive and it won't boot UNRAID. What am I missing? Quote Link to comment
trurl
Unraid IS the OS. What happens when you try to boot? Quote Link to comment
Ystebad
Did you go into bios and change boot order - you have to put the USB drive as first. Edited May 27, 2021 by Ystebad Quote Link to comment
dperk11
Yep, drive inserted, turn computer on----boots to bios. Bios shows the UNRAID flash drive as the boot priority. Hit save, reboot, boots back up to BIOS. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Enable legacy boot on the board BIOS or enable UEFI boot on Unraid by renaming EFI- to EFI on the flash drive, this can also be enable when creating the flash drive with the USB tool, but default is disable. Quote Link to comment
dperk11
I've tried all of those things. Still Nada Quote Link to comment
Frank1940
Try looking at this tutorial from someone who has a lot of knowledge in this area: IF this does help (or you haven't figured the solution), post up more info about your MB. I seem to recall that there are a few MB's whose boot options are not quite what is normally found. You might also post a picture of the boot option BIOS screen. Please make sure that it is readable. Please attach the picture and don't post a link to a third party site where you have stored the picture. (A lot of folks are a bit gun sly about these type of links.) Quote Link to comment
micro-nerd
Is it a new computer build? If so, it is possible that you may need to update the BIOS on the motherboard. I know I had to do that with a B550 board and my Ryzen 5 5600X. Nothing would boot. It would go straight to BIOS everytime Quote Link to comment
Gragorg
Did you run the make_bootable batch file on the USB. Last time I had to restore my USB I had to. Quote Link to comment
