UNRAID, Casa
I'm talking about the VM snapshot's! If not possible in real time, shutdown -> take snapshot -> boot the VM... Edited October 27, 2021 by UNRAID, Casa 1 Quote Link to comment

Elmojo
Yes please, this would be awesome. It's one of the features I use most on VMWare Desktop. Knowing I can futz around all I want and just roll back if things get wonky is great. Quote Link to comment
SimonF
Have a look at this thread looking to add VM snaps at somepoint to my snapshoots plugin. Quote Link to comment
jeremy.markel
I as well would like to have a way to manage snapshots natively in Unraid. Just as an FYI, for those who don't know, you can use virsh from the cli, or install virt-manager on another computer to manage vms and/or snapshots. Not as simple but perfectly usable. 1 Quote Link to comment
AfterForeve12
The problem I have found with virt-manager is: Unraids default virtual drive format makes it incompatible with taking snapshots. So any vm's that I just used the defaults on when I created them. I can't take snapshots. I agree, a native way to take snapshots from the web interface should have been a feature that was added long ago. I have been an Unraid customer for at least 8 years now and I love the OS, however, it hasn't seen much in terms of further development in that time. It's server software, so I get it, slow dev cycle. I just feel like it's been extraordinarily slow. 1 Quote Link to comment

ihansen
For me, this is the one feature that's missing to make Unraid my ultimate homelab server. Snapshots is essential when debugging and testing different setups, and i would love to see this integrated in the webui! 1 Quote Link to comment
vakilando
1+ A native way (a plugin or built in) to take snapshots of virtual machines would be awesome! Quote Link to comment

malebron
Yes!! +1 I can't believe this feature is not there. ESSENTIAL. Quote Link to comment
supercoach
Yeah, just started using VMs in Unraid again after a long hiatus and I'm honestly shocked to see that it's not included. Previously it was all command line, so it was pretty much do it yourself or it didn't happen, but with the modern GUI comes modern expectations and snapshots are pretty much a necessity for any VM host.
