Flash Backup: Activated: Not up-to-date / Flash backup unavailable

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am having the same issue as a few others in the forum.

I installed unraid and got everything up and running, but the flash backup from the my servers plugin won't do anything even though it is activated. I reinitialized a few times with no backup happening at the end, I also tried to manually click Update button, but no backup got done.

On the my-servers site my server is shown as online, just the Flash backup option says "Flash backup unavailable" in grey.

DNS Servers used are from google: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and their respective ipv6 versions: 2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844

I tried pinging backup.unraid.net from the terminal and the ip 54.70.72.154 got resolved but all packets transmitted were lost.

I then used traceroute to find out weather there was a routing problem, it never arrived at 54.70.72.154

Here is part of my traceroute

Do I need to forward a port for the flash backup to work ?

Is maybe my provider having problems so I cannot reach the backup server?

I just don't know where to look for a solution as most others in the forum with the same problem had it resolved without doing anything.

I hope you can help me fixing this problem

Thanks in advance

traceroute and ping are not going to respond, the behavior you are seeing is expected.

No port forward is required for flash backup.

As you might have seen in some of my other responses, we are having intermittent issues at the moment. We made some changes today that will hopefully help, are your backups working now?

Hey i just logged out and signed back in, also I just reinitialized the flash backup function.

I also restarted the server a few times because of fiddling around with vms, maybe I was offline when you checked.

If i click on My Servers Dashboard this is what it shows:

grafik.png.36f36d9f7d5ab378eef9c8dbb6294f75.png

Remote Access etc. is also working if i turn it on, so some form of connection is definitely working.

Just the backup function still does not work.

Can it maybe help to reinstall the myservers Plugin? Or maybe update to the current rc-version of unraid?

Thanks again for your help

I’m having the same problem. All works except the backup. Always shows “Activated: Not up-to-date”. When I click on the Update button it refreshes the page and shows the same thing. It’s been 3 days now and it didn’t change (like it did for others with the same issue). When I click on Changes, only a blank (white) pop up shows.

Any other troubleshooting steps we can try?

I'm also having this problem. Remote access is working fine, but I see "Flash backup unavailable" and "Not connected to the mothership" in the Unraid UI. I've rebooted the server, deactivated and re-activated the flash drive backup but it's still not working. I'm on Unraid 6.9.2

I saw that you guys made changes on your end. I still can't get it work. I reinitialized and nothing is happening, status never changes. Weird is as well that when I click on "deactivate" the page just reloads and nothing is deactivated.

Is there a way to complete reset the backup function?

If you are having trouble, please wait for the next release before setting this up. See https://forums.unraid.net/topic/112073-my-servers-releases/#comment-1163024

Wanted to tag along with reporting my issues, I'm sure they're all similar
I verified I can see my server under My Servers on here

image.png.99c21515e62514845cb801140b6a9dfd.png

I've attached my /var/log/gitflash file

Seems I keep getting the below

[email protected]: Permission denied (publickey).

I wanted to note, I updated the plugin and then rebooted, uptime is below

root@Apollo:~# uptime
 13:14:47 up 10 min, 1 user, load average: 2.17, 3.94, 2.57

My server is also not currently showing connected to the mothership, but shows online on the Unraid form.

Update:
After running "unraid-api restart" it's now showing connected to the mothership on the dropdown but still same error, "Failed to sync flash backup"
I also get the below error, like d3rax.

root@Apollo:~# ssh backup.unraid.net
[email protected]: Permission denied (publickey).

Im also unable to sync the flash backup. I get error: Failed to sync flash backup

When I enter 'ssh backup.unraid.net' I get the message:  [email protected]: Permission denied (publickey)

Not sure how to fix this, hope someone can point me in the right direction!

I am on the latest version of the plugin.
