sevenhree
My server now loses internet connection after about an hour or 2 of running, I've reset my router, tried different cables and ports, and tried different IP addresses. It worked fine until about a month ago, I did move to a new house and switch to a new network, not sure if this could be related because it was working for a while on the new network. I tried to completely reset unraid but it seems like I cannot do that without buying a new key. Am I missing something? What can I do to fix this? Quote Link to comment
trurl
Your license .key file is in the config folder and will work on any install to the same flash drive, or can be transferred to a new flash. No reason a new install should be necessary, and no reason to expect it to fix anything. Try deleting config/network.cfg from flash drive so it will use default DHCP and see if that helps. Do you have an attached keyboard and monitor? Quote Link to comment

sevenhree
So it appears that rather than having a network problem my server is just freezing after a few hours. Quote Link to comment
ChatNoir
Diagnostics might still show something. If not, you should set up a syslog server and post the output file after your next freeze. Quote Link to comment

sevenhree
I disabled C6 and XMP, my server seems to be working fine now, I am going to let it run a day or so to see if it has any more problems. 1 Quote Link to comment
sevenhree
Still crashing. I'm thinking it may be a memory issue as I have mismatched sticks and 3 slots filled, could that be the problem? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It could, try with just one or two matched ones. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
Enable the syslog server and post that after a crash. Quote Link to comment

sevenhree
Yeah, I'll get another one to see if it gets anything else Quote Link to comment
sevenhree
I've got a new syslog, this one has a lot more on it than the first. syslog Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It does but the last line is 2 minutes after boot, was it already without internet? Quote Link to comment
sevenhree
Yeah, the computer froze after 2 minutes, normally it goes for at least an hour. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
There's nothing logged, assumed you followed the general Ryzen recommendations linked above there's likely some hardware issue, one more thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disable, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one. kizer
Id also recommend booting in and running a memory test with whatever you have installed. If its a memory problem its harder to tell while running, but the memory test would help isolate if its a Ram problem. Quote Link to comment
sevenhree
Ran Memtest for a couple cycles, no errors. Tried safe mode and it still froze, I'm going to try the Ryzen recommendations again in case I did it wrong. Does it matter which RAM slots the RAM is in? My CPU cooler is blocking the slot closest to it. Edited October 5, 2022 by sevenhree Quote Link to comment

sevenhree
Retried the Ryzen settings to no avail, not sure what else it could be at this point, I guess its just a hardware issue. Quote Link to comment
sevenhree
I have now discovered that when in GUI mode, the unraid firefox tab stops working but the rest of the OS keeps functioning fine. Does this mean that it is a software problem after all? Quote Link to comment
