With the recent RC, I decided to give it another go. System: unRaid version 5.0-rc2 Plugin: Plex v0.9.6.1.89-3c84bb7 Other Plugins: CouchPotato version 62742a6 SABnzbd 0.6.15 Sick Beard alpha (master) Subsonic 4.6 (build 2583) unMenu version 1.5 revision 241 I started from complete scratch the other day, and outside of some minor permission issues on a couple of files, I managed to pull in all my TV and Movies, scrap the data, and can stream just fine both inside and outside of the network. However, the issue arrises on new downloads. I'm using the usual download with SAB, Sick Beard organizes, and then tells Plex to update process everyone else uses. May 10, 201214 yr I seem to have some problems with this plugin.. my web interface hanbg when trying to access plex settings. so i rebooted but i stil cant access theplex settings.. how do i remove it from mu unraid? edit; deleted the files in /boot/config/plugins/plex and plex seems to be gone .. is this correct? this raises another question.. i saw there was an update to plex in unraid before it crashes.. has the plg file been changed to reflect this update? edit: link seems to be down.... thanks for a cool plugin .

No problem, although i cant see how i should affect the installation on my unraid, unless its tries to contact your server for some reason. would you mind telling me the proper way of removing the plugin?
May 11, 201214 yr Author it does connect to the server. every time you enter the plugin settings page it will check if there is a new version available. remove the *.plg file and remove the /boot/config/plugins/plex directory. thats all. after an reboot your unRAID server is as good as new.
May 14, 201214 yr Installed plugin and starting to set it up and it's all great but I have a couple of questions for people running it. I have sickbeard and sab that get my tv and now with plex I would like plex to be able to automatically get the new shows as they are downloaded. But what I don't want to do is have plex stopping my discs from spinning down. So how do I handle or get plex to find my new shows as they are added without plex spinning my discs up all the time?? Is there a trigger from sickbeard that can be done or how do the 2 options in plex work ie you can set a scan update every xx minutes which I gather is going to spin up the drives as it scans or the update when changes detected. Any help would be great and I appologise if it has been covered as I could not find any info most info about spinning disks revolved around the install/logs and db files that would keep a drive spinning. I have all my apps installed direclty to disc 1 so I know it stays up but my other drives do currenlty spin down until sickbead gets a new show and transfers it to the tv share.

There is also version control on unRAID web which inform of current PMS installed version and will inform if there is a new version of PMS available. plex-media-server-0.2b-ww.zip
May 15, 201214 yr quick question, my recently added section recently stopped working, the library is still there and movies and shows still work in their respective sections, but the dashboard section with all new adds has stopped working. I'm guessing it went when i lost the power on my server the other day... anyone know how to fix? is it just something i delete and plex will recreate? thanks
May 16, 201214 yr I know this is a topic that hasn't surfaced in a while but is there still a memory leak in Plex / the plugin. I'm currently running a fresh install of 5RC3 and Plex v0.9.6.1.89-3c84bb7 and this is my "free -m" after a day or so of running total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 2015 1951 63 0 43 1747 -/+ buffers/cache: 160 1855 Swap: 0 0 0 From a clean reboot, the "used" climbs when i play from plex from 560 to around that level and doesn't ever subside, even if plex is stopped or not playing. I haven't used any hidden folders. here's my config plex_settings.cfg: # plex configuration SERVICE="enable" PLEX_INSTALLDIR="/usr/local/plex" PLEX_LIBRARYDIR="/mnt/cache/plex_library" PLEX_TMPDIR="/mnt/cache/tmp" RUNAS="unraid-plex" PLEX_USE_UTF="true" any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

May 18, 201214 yr Weird issue.. For some reason Plex won't see any of the media stored on the cache drive.. It sees all media residing on the array though. Anyone see something like this before?
May 20, 201214 yr My plex server seems to be crashing now while streaming to my iPad. This have never happen to my windows client or my Samsung client. Is this a know thing? Also since I am away I don't have access to my webgui for unraid so I can't start it back up. Does any one know how I can restart plex from the unraid unix shell?

May 21, 201214 yr to start/stop from shell: /etc/rc.d/rc.plex stop /etc/rc.d/rc.plex start I tried that but it didn't work. The script executed but no plex processes spawned. I even tried /usr/local/plex/start.sh. This spawns the processes but it doesn't see any of my media.

Since no one ever replied to this, and I figured if anyone else has this problem, they'd like to know the answer. I had SickBeard running as root when I first installed it, because I couldn't get it to read my TV show directory without it. (This was before I learned of chmod/chown) . After I had reinstalled all my plugins, I made sure SB, CP, and SAB were all running as nobody. Plex was still having some issues pulling in new content, so I moved all of my plugins out of /mnt/cache/.Apps/ And made a cache-only share of /mnt/user/Apps/ Deleted all the existing sections in Plex, then ran chmod -R -0777 /mnt/user/Media/ chown -R nobody:users /mnt/user/Media/ Redid the sections, and now everything is working perfectly. Plex doesn't randomly need restarted, it updates after new shows/movies, has no problems pulling in all the metadata, and I have no memory leaks. It only took weeks of learning new things about permission, but, everything is good.
