thedudeabides79
I cannot seem to find specific enough instructions on how to configure my vms to use a static IP address. I just want to set up my VMs to use fixed IP addresses on the network. Please help. Thanks so much. Quote Link to comment
ConnerVT
For all of the devices on my network (including VMs) I just reserve a IP address on my router. Quote Link to comment
MrGrey
I don't use VMs in UnRaid. Can you log into your router? Do you know what your router is? I don't want to be condescending. Just trying to help. MrGrey. Quote Link to comment

It is not configured on the host(Unraid) In windows change the ethernet connection from dhcp to static Quote Link to comment
tjb_altf4
I approach this by configuring a DHCP reservation in the router, and leaving the OS in DHCP mode. Note that you can get the MAC address needed for the DHCP reservation from the VM template. Quote Link to comment

That can be configure in the VM itself, e.g., or Windows go to network settings and set a static IP. Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
All these answers assume the network interface chosen is bridged to the LAN, but it's possible to use the internal bridge that doesn't get a LAN address. Only way to know for sure is for the OP to tell us what the network settings of the VM template are. Quote Link to comment
thedudeabides79
I think I got this working. Thanks for all of the help. I did end up configuring router to reserve IP that it was leasing to the VM. I always thought there had to be a setting or a config within the VM or unraid network settings. Quote Link to comment
