Unraid OS Version 7.2.0-beta.2 available

Featured Replies

Unraid 7.2.0-beta.2 is now available! There have been multiple fixes and enhancements since -beta.1, see all the details in the release notes (search the page for -beta.2)

Note that some plugins may have visual issues in this release, please give plugin authors time to make adjustments. Plugin authors, please see this post describing how to update your plugins to make them responsive.

This is BETA software. Please use on test servers only.

This announce post is perfect for quick questions or comments, but if you suspect there will be back and forth for your specific issue, please start a new topic in the Prereleases board. Be sure to include your diagnostics.zip.

Upgrade steps for this release

  1. Read the release notes

  2. As always, prior to upgrading, create a backup of your USB flash device:  "Main/Flash/Flash Device Settings" - click "Flash Backup".

  3. Update all of your plugins. This is critical for the Connect, NVIDIA and Realtek plugins in particular.

  4. If the system is currently running 6.12.0 - 6.12.6, we're going to suggest that you stop the array at this point. If it gets stuck on "Retry unmounting shares", open a web terminal and type:

    umount /var/lib/docker

The array should now stop successfully.

  5. If you have a recent release or Unraid Connect installed:

    • Open the dropdown in the top-right of the Unraid webgui and click Check for Update, then press More options and switch to the Next branch. You may be prompted to sign in to access the Next branch. Select the appropriate version and choose "View changelog to Start Update". More details in this blog post

  6. If you don't have the Check for Update option in the upper right corner:

    • Either install the Unraid Connect plugin or upgrade to 6.12.10 first. Then check for updates as described above.

  7. Wait for the update to download and install

  8. If you have any plugins that install 3rd party drivers (NVIDIA, Realtek, etc), wait for the notification that the new version of the driver has been downloaded.

  9. Reboot

I don't even try the stable releases anymore LOL

There are new bug reports created for b2 and older ones closed since its release. So, some people are trying it.

Does this feature a new theme engine or is that TBC? 😎

I see too many bugs right now to go for it.

  1. That's what beta are for, finding bugs on a larger HW and use case base than what can be tested internally at Limetech

  2. We only see the bug parts in the bug report section, not any users that have no bugs and everything working fine (true for the whole forum, not just the bug report section though)

But as started :

I upgraded an all-flash Beelink ME mini to beta 2 today and all went smoothly.

Running well with no apparent issues so far.

Responsive mobile UI is a big step forwards - love it!

Standard XFS array

Standard XFS array

Mine has been running okay for the last couple of weeks, except for once when the web GUI stopped responding. Reboot from console restarted gracefully.

Hi.

Running ok on daily bases, but cannot connect to Connect from the GUI. And some error on ssh keys.

Please report that here: Connect Plugin Support - Unraid

Can you expand on that?

That's not a stock notification, probably from a plugin.

Small problem with text/layout Settings > Network > Routing Table. Firefox 142.0.1 and Safari 18.6

I think it is stock, I've started to see some components be updated sliently which concerns me. The notification bell in the top right and a new log viewer under tools. I'm not running a RC version either.

Looks like a backup related plugin. Boot in safe mode and see if you still get, if you don't, it's likely a plugin.

I dont think it is, its as if they're doing mini patches from the RC. The new Notification UI has been rolled out, and then the new log viewer seems to have been rolled out. Would love an official comment on this from unraid staff please.

Connect plugin coming with updates maybe, if you have that installed and updated that plugin? Just guessing.

Yeh been keeping the unraid connect plugin up to date. Will check the changelog now. At least on the API side im not seeing these changes documented unless im missing something. If they aren't being documented they need to be.

SSH error is probably from the Connect plugin flash backup.

As suggested, please reboot in safe mode, that will confirm whether it's a plugin or not.
