You grabbed the wrong link, the link you got is another html page but since the links name ends in .plg that is what is saved.

On the gitpage scroll down to "Downloads" and right click > save as from there.

Great thanks! now that it is installed, I access it through the web like unmenu (tower:9091)? I tried that and it failed.

  • Author

Go to the unraid webgui, then go to settings. There will be a transmission icon. Click on it and you'll need to set the data directory, port and then enable it.

Influencer, how are things going with integrating packages across your plugins to improve stability? Has piotrasds stuff been working ok?

It worked fine for me when using my plug-ins, but I can't guarantee compatibility or stability if used alongside others plug-ins.

There are still a couple issues I'm trying to track down, just been a little slow going as in order to test I'm removing everything else, restarting with a stock system and then testing so I know everything works from 100% stock, then I test with other stuff installed to make sure it all still works.

This of course means the system has to be free so I can restart and not have anything running, which while it does happen, a wife and 3 kids means I have to choose my timing wisely (read, wait for everyone to go to bed)

It is odd, when i did SAB/SICK/CPv2/TMISSION from dev branch i got no SMB service and lots of errors in system logs, but stable plugins work fine. I'll wait for you to push to master.

When are you finally going virtualised? :) I've just switched to ESXi and it has been peace of mind with unRAID stability!

  • Author

I did have a dev build but repurposed it a couple months back. I'd like to go esxi but current hardware can't.

anyone been having issues with CP lately (past few days)? checking the logs it looks like it finds the movie but stops there. i tried turning on debugging but not getting much more information. is there a logfile somewhere?

i should be on the latest as it says there are no updates available.

log just says:

11-01 01:34:02 INFO [ato.core.plugins.searcher] Search for Movie in 1080p

EDIT: ran an update for all wanted and i am seeing some lines stating:

[hpotato.core.plugins.base] Opening url: https://couchpota.to/api/eta/ttXXXXX/

when i go there manually brings me to a page that says "Please update your version of CouchPotato!"

Those aren't my instructions, :D

Mine are located here It covers and sickbeard. That being said the instructions you linked to are accurate.

To setup your search site you go into sickbeard and go to Config > Search providers. NZBGeek is one of the preconfigured providers so you just check it and then scroll down to built-in providers, select nzbgeek from the dropbox and input the info needed.

The provider, supernews, is setup in sabnzbd. You open sabnzbd and go to Config > Servers > Add server and input the information for supernews.

Check out the instructions I posted and it will help you get sab and sickbeard setup to work together. The part about categories will also work for couchpotato. You'd set a category for "movies" and then when you set couchpotato up you'll tell it to send to sab using that category. This will let sab put everything where you want it so sickbeard and couchpotato can process the downloads accordingly. PM me with any questions and I'll do my best to help, I'll probably update my instructions with couchpotato as well.

Hello Influencer - I sent you a PM with my questions - brace for impact!  LOL

I wasn't able to attach a screenshot via PM, so posting it here.

In SB, nzbgeek is not listed in the boxes at the top, nor the built in drop down list.  I don't have the API dor nzbgeek and their support team hasn't answered my email.

CB has nzbgeek listed so I have that box checked, but again, I do not have the API key.

PM replied

I have an odd issue with SickBeard.  I'm not sure if it's unraid, SickBeard or plugin related.

I think, either the last SB update or an upgrade to unraid 5, I have lost the ability for SB to see my cache drive.  When I want to manually process some files, SB can't see the cache drive.  I can see user and the disk# on the list.

I've exported the cache as public under SMB and NfS but no luck.

Any ideas anyone ?

  • Author

Just checked my server, same issue. Kind of odd really, wouldn't be the plug-in, so it'd be down to unraid or sickbeard.

Do we have anyone that hasn't updated to 5.0 final that can test this for us? That would narrow it down to unraid or sickbeard.

  • Author

Actually, I just browsed through sickbeards code and I found the issue. The code for sickbeards browser includes code to prune directories that can cause issues.

Here's the commit:

Prune out known win and osx folders in the sb browser/autocomplete th…
…at are just pointless/clutter. Users should not be storing or trying to load any data from as it would result in permission/conflicts/deletion by the os.

So it seems this issue has been going on for a while (commit was 11 months ago). I'll raise an issue in sickbeard to see what we can get accomplished. In the meantime, you can export the share (assuming its cache only) and access the files through that.

EDIT:

See http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=21260.msg270230#msg270230 for explanation as to why this functionality will not be changed.

Thanks Influencer.  Glad to see I wasn't going crazy.  It could have a been a while ago as I only update every now and again when I have everything working.

For now I just copy the files to a scratch area on the array and process from there.  A minor extra step but not a major issue

bump.. i'm also going to attach a log where i added a movie that i know is posted and on both nzb providers but getting some errors.. says found, looks like it goes to my providers but doesn't do anything after that..

Influencer which combination of sickbeard/transmission/sab from the branches will stop the libc-2.11.1 segfaults again?

  • Author

The master branch should have no segfaults from any dependencies. Unless I accidentally committed something from the wrong branch.

I'm getting emhttp dying and some segfaults from master on another system, trying transmission from upgrade now!

OOPS doing the above breaks SMB completely :) libsas errors.

Influencer which combination of sickbeard/transmission/sab from the branches will stop the libc-2.11.1 segfaults again?

Libc is not altered by atleast couchpotato, sabnzbd, sickbeard, transmission, plex media server or nzbmegasearch. These are the plug-ins I'm currently running and no libc faults and the libc version isn't 2.11.1. Is something else modifying libc?

whats the name of your cache share?

if its one of these.. you just need to rename it:

hideList = ["boot", "bootmgr", "cache", "msocache", "recovery", "$recycle.bin", "recycler", "system volume information", "temporary internet files"] # windows specific
hideList += [".fseventd", ".spotlight", ".trashes", ".vol", "cachedmessages", "caches", "trash"] # osx specific

and for sabnzbd, I used the same list:

_JUNKFOLDERS = (
'boot', 'bootmgr', 'cache', 'msocache', 'recovery', '$recycle.bin', 'recycler',
'system volume information', 'temporary internet files', # windows specific
'.fseventd', '.spotlight', '.trashes', '.vol', 'cachedmessages', 'caches', 'trash' # osx specific
        )

PM me with any questions and I'll do my best to help, I'll probably update my instructions with couchpotato as well.

if you want to use nzbgeek.. then you just need to add it. you obviously need to signup with them to get an apikey. if you dont have an apikey with them.. then you cant use them.

we included nzbgeek+nzbfind+usenet-crawler but that was only a short period, it was revised to just be usenet-crawler ( https://github.com/midgetspy/Sick-Beard/commit/c3c2ec4c9235312a15ba637b9229067fde9089d9 ). you can easily just go sign up for an account and add them yourselves though via the Configure Custom Newznab Providers section.

sounds like you guys have been using older sb version.. you should keep an eye on our changelog where I do my best to try and keep it up to date with whats going into git:

Yeah I answered that question via pm. It was my mistake thinking nzbgeek was a built in provider, I remembered seeing it but since I don't use then I didn't think I had added it. Guess I did at one point in time.

The cache share is by default named cache so most users probably were affected when that hidelist was added but no one noticed. Would it be too difficult to allow mount points with those names be visible but other directories hidden?

Any file on the cache disk will be accessible from a share in /mnt/user, even if it is a cache only share. I was quick to post without fully thinking about the scenario. Sickbeard and sabnzbd hiding directories named 'cache' is a good thing, even if its unfortunate we have an entire disk hidden because of the name. That being said, since the shares are still accessible via /mnt/user, we aren't losing any functionality. In actuality, we most likely gain in terms of sickbeard's processing (the scenario that brought notice to the hidden cache disk).

Let me explain:

Whenever sickbeard processes a file successfully and moves it to the appropriate directory, if we navigated to the file from /mnt/cache/downloads/tv_show.mkv, sickbeard will move it across 'disks' in the OS's eyes, from /mnt/cache/ to /mnt/user/. This causes the file to be copied to the new location then deleted from the old location. Assuming your TV share uses the cache disk, if you were to navigate to the same file using /mnt/user/downloads/tv_show.mkv, the OS would see the move being on the same disk and would just change the pointer to the new location.

I know I don't speak for the whole community, but me and zoggy have spoken at length about it (he posted a few of my replies in a post below), and it makes sense for everyone involved to leave things as is. Unraid users aren't hurt by it since we still have access, and other users are better protected.

If the built in updater is still operational no one should be stuck using an older version.
