jbrodriguez
any suggestion on a case to mount two of these ? (got them on the last Newegg sale) I currently have a Cooler Master CM-690 (II?) ... it has space for one SS-500, but I would need to pry the front open to accommodate the second. will gladly hear any ideas !! jevans04
any suggestion on a case to mount two of these ? (got them on the last Newegg sale) I am looking at this case to upgrade my current system too. It would hold 3 of the Norco's. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021 Quote Link to comment

crowdx42
I have the SuperMicro enclosure in the Antec 900 case, something I noticed was that this case is not as deep as the Antec P100, so the fan on the back of the enclosure sits pretty much over the motherboard, not ideal but it still works. Why I chose the SuperMicro was mainly the larger and easily accessible fan which I ended up putting a fan controller on it to reduce the fan noise but it still cools pretty good with only about 1 degree extra heat vs. the fan at full speed. We replace all fans on these cages. They are not overly loud, but all our customers build strive to be as quite as possible. Quote Link to comment

crowdx42
The Supermicro fan is 92mm, the one you linked is 80mm? Do you use 80mm instead? Quote Link to comment
prostuff1
The Supermicro fan is 92mm, the one you linked is 80mm? Do you use 80mm instead? No, it's an 80mm fan... unless they have changed something. Quote Link to comment
crowdx42
Well I ordered 2 92mm fans for the 2 Supermicro cages I bought. Both in the product description and on the fan that is installed it also has a 92 on it although it does not say 92mm. Quote Link to comment

SSD
Supermicro's use the 92mm fans. Norco's use 80mm. The default Supermicro fans do a fantastic job of cooling the drives, and are high quality. They move a lot of air and are not silent, but the noise is due to the air movement, they don't buzz or make any mechanical noise. You can change them for something quieter that does not cool as well. Quote Link to comment
