March 5, 20179 yr Do we need this plugin to schedule a TRIM or is this now built into UnRaid? Searching google for information about this gives me conflicting results. And is TRIM required in the first place .. for SSD cache?
March 5, 20179 yr Yes you need the plugin. And yes, trim is required for SSD's. Many, many articles about the benefits of trim on the internet
March 5, 20179 yr Community Expert It's not required but it's highly recommended, no trim without it.
March 6, 20179 yr I've never ran Trim on my SSD cache, so I installed the Dynamix SSD Trim plugin. However when I go to the Apps tab, the "Settings" button in disabled. How do I run it? Can I run it manually, and if so, do I need to stop the array first? Edited March 6, 20179 yr by fersal
May 9, 20179 yr Are you guys absolutely sure that a scheduled ssd trim is still necessary on an BRTFS formatted cache ssd with 6.3.3 ? I ask because there are some errors in my log after such a trim operation on a brtfs cache drive. Maybe it is not even safe to use the ssd trim plugin on such a drive?

May 11, 20179 yr I dont understand why i get error message that SSD-trim isn't installed and activated when it is??? Did you originally get the warning and then install and the warning is still there? Hit rescan if that's the caseSent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk

March 2, 20188 yr Does this work if your cache drive is an M.2 drive with an XFS file system? or do you have to run BTRFS? I only have one drive, so I set it up as XFS.

March 1, 20215 yr Is the SSD trim needed for a NVME cache drive? I wasn't sure if a NVME works the same as a SSD....but I suppose it is a type of SSD. Edited March 1, 20215 yr by SPOautos

Should we be updating our existing cache pools to use this new feature in place of the SSD TRIM plugin? Not sure if this was available in beta/RC for others to chime in.

Would this allow us to connect SSDs to a HBA Controller that doesn't support TRIM now?
