[support] dlandon - Logitech Media Server

After reading about the discontinuation of mysqueezebox.com here I installed this plugin yesterday. Afer setting the network type to host (see here) everything worked like a charm. So thanks a lot for this plugin!

So here it is mentioned that the squeezebox server should be run with the --nomysqueezebox command line option. How can I do this with the plugin, or is it already done?

  • Just my 2 cents on the controller front. If using iOS, iPeng is definitely worth it. For Android I think the options are pretty miserable TBH and no where near as polished as iPeng. I used Squeezer fo

  • The container was already on 8.3.  I just updated it to the latest nightly build that appears to be the 8.3 final release.

Now that the LMS service has been switched off, you have to use the LMS in your own network. I've been doing this for a long time. Now there is already a version 8.5.x of the LMS. When can you install this in the Docker?

As far as I understood, the only thing needed is to turn off the "mysqueezebox.com-Service" plugin and that's it.
I've also installed the replacement Tidal Plugin by "philippe_44, Michael Herger" and that's working perfect so far + I removed the old Logitech hosted plugins Tidal, Deezer etc.

Super excited for v9. It's been rebranded as as Lyrion Media Server, and it looks like development is quite active again.

https://lyrion.org/getting-started/changelog-lms9/

Is it a simple update for this Docker @dlandon?

EDIT: just saw this in the documentation. I don't know if it's helpful or not, but I thought I'd pass it on.

I've just posted a new Docker Container for the Lyrion Music Server:

You're a star, thank you!

Thanks for sorting this out @dlandon.

Can this new version simply drop in or does some additional configuration need to take place?

Just worried about settings etc…

Player prefs etc will not carry over.

The new support thread tells you how to transfer your favourites, at least. But it also says that it's such an overhaul that you can't just copy the preference directories and have them work.

I remember that there used to be a third party plugin that allowed you to save and transfer settings. I have no idea if it will work or not.

I've just installed the new version and am about to start setting things up. Wish me luck, heh.

Does this container/repository offer an option to get nightly or preview builds? Or is it limited to just stable?

The reason I ask is because 9.0 is considered stable, but 9.0.1 apparently has some fixes for the show-stopping AirPlay Bridge and ShairTunes bugs.

[EDIT: Well, it looks like the AirPlay issues were caused by the container running in Bridge (and not Host) mode. But my question about toggling releases still stands. :) ]

Dear all,

First of all, a happy new year 2025 🙂 I am completely new to unraid as well as docker. Currently i am running the test license of unraid and tried to run the LMS docker with the airplay bridge extension.

The problem i am facing is, that the airplay bridge wont start successfully, because it cant load some ssl libraries (pls see logfile).

So i guess, something is missing from the docker container ? Is there a chance to get this running ? Which additional information would be needed ? The plugin is of version 1.7.7, the LMS docker reports that it is up to date, LMS is 9.0.0

Lyrion Music Server Version: 9.0.0 - 1732822968 @ Fri Nov 29 12:08:17 UTC 2024

I am currently running the airplay bridge from my raspberry, but it would be nice if it would work from unraid.

Thanks and best regards,

Andreas

Update the container.  I added a missing library.

Hello Sir,

Thank you for your quick reply, i will do so and report back 🙂

All the best,

Andreas

I managed to test immediately, error is now gone, startup not crashing anymore and airplay device is now detected  (and fortunately no subsequent error) 🙂

Thank you again for your outstanding support!

Best regards, Andreas

Just repeating this question in the hope of an answer. Is there a stable/release/nightly option that I've overlooked?

Switch to the Lyrion Music Server.  The Logitech Media Server docker container is deprecated, no longer supported, and will eventually be removed from CA.

for me, lyrion doesn't work right now so I'm still on Logitech. I still have both docker, once the new one work properly, I'll switch. Project is still new but very active, just have to wait a bit
