Uh fun.. don't know what devs did this time, but that update 18h ago... now it asks username and password... nowhere is any info of any username and password... it does it even with completely clean install.. This is it for me with this docker, those devs can do what **** they want, it is just easier to use calibre desktop app on computer and tolerate it is slower when it reads files over network from Unraid share (and also kinda of annoying needing to open up app every time, instead just throwing files to auto import folder). But hey, this was 3rd time within a year they just f**** everything up and users are left for struggling hours what is wrong, and now it seems there even is no fix. As completely clean install wants to have some username and password which are not existing, not asked on install, nothing.... so somehow you should know some magic command to do at command prompt of the docker, which is even not told anywhere... thanks and buy, going to avoid this teams dockers forever if I can...

  • For those trying to figure out how to add this extra variable to the docker template, you need to go to 'advanced' view (slider in the upper-right corner) and then look for the 'Extra parameters' sect

They show an option on the Github page for "--security-opt seccomp=unconfined" that fixes this on the docker image. It's mentioned in some issues: https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-calibre/issues/

Not sure what the docker team has to do with the app developer? I think these comments should be directed at the Calibre devs.

Geez....all you need to do is click on calibre in docker, click edit, go down to the page to the line that says "password". Then go over to the rightwhere it says, "remove." Click on remove, hit apply, you're golden!

Because this is calibre docker problem. Calibre app works... docker webpage when opening it in browser is the one asking username and password... even when there is none set (or asked) on install in clean install of docker template... duh

(Mods please redirect if appropriate)

I am also experiencing the above, I updated the Calibre Container recently, but have never set a user ID or password and it is now asking for a user id and password. Before I deleted and reinstalled Calibre Content Server did have a userid and password and it worked fine (even after the main Calibre started asking for a userid and pass that I don't have) any way to fix this on my end, or is it more a wait until the container gets updated scenario?

See my post above. It tells you how to fix without reinstalling!

Done! Thank you, that was actually simpler to fix than I previously thought it would be.

You're very welcome

Can somebody tell me why this is happening: every time I update calibre, it rolls back my settings. I must go back and point it to the library, restart the content server, go back to share over web and click to start content server whenever calibre starts. Why????

Thanks

Can't say for sure, but this seems to me as if you didn't map the /config properly. Make sure it is somewhere in /mnt/user/appdata/<nameofyourcontainer>. This one should be easy to check
