jackw163
Hi, I know their are millions of post on here about setting up SMB and windows, and believe me i feel like i have tried it all at this stage, i have no idea what the actual problem is but on my windows 10 PC (1903) connects and i can browse the shares i want to etc but i dont seem to have write access or i do and i dont? it normally copies a 1mb version of what im trying to copy the errors out, ive included screenshots which hopefully show my problem and enough info to figure this out, considering at this stage a fresh install of windows and unraid, any help would be massively appreciated as this has had me pulling my hair out for days now. Many Thanks Jack Quote Link to comment
trurl
Does it work with a Public share? Have you tried deleting credentials in Control Panel and then trying to access only that share? Quote Link to comment

Have you tried deleting credentials in Control Panel and then trying to access only that share? same issue with public share and ive tried deleting them all related to it and adding them all in different formats so jwilson@AMD-SERVER AMD-SERVER\jwilson just the username also trying the ip instead of hostname, streams in unraid does show me accessing it as my user if that helps Quote Link to comment

dalben
Do you have booked NICs by any chance? I had a similar issue. Unbonded, or is that debonded, disabled one NIC and all worked great. Quote Link to comment

dalben
Unraid server. If they are bonded try just using a single NIC and see if that helps Quote Link to comment
jackw163
Technically solved now, i dont know what the problem was in the end, i reset my windows pc and ever since the connection has worked fine, i did also just upgrade both servers to 6.8.0 rc3 but i think it was the windows side not working, probably some setting somewhere and resetting put everything to default. i really appreciate the help i recieved Quote Link to comment

(This term could mean anything from a 'reboot' to 'wiping the drive clean and reinstalling' the OS.) Quote Link to comment
jackw163
hi, sorry to clarify i completely re-installed the os, though my problem has re-occured the only thing thats the same is my pc is getting error "The server is responding over TCP but not over SMB. Ensure the Server service is running and responsive, and the disks do not have high per-IO latency, which makes the disks appear unresponsive to SMB. Also, ensure the server is responsive overall and not paused; for instance, make sure you can log on to it." in event viewer Quote Link to comment
jackw163
I have finally FINALLY found the culprit, it was partly two things, for some reason my unraid box which has 3 nics was set for dhcp on two and static on another but all three had the same un-changeable mc address even though the nics have different macs themselves, and my windows pc nic was basically not playing nicely with the AP i have bridged.
