epodox
Hello, When trying to use the Unraid USB Creator tool I get an error "An error occured when attempting to lock the volume. Error 5:..." Thanks for any help! Joshua D. Quote Link to comment
epodox
So after more testing this error only seems to happen when trying to customize either the "Server name" or "Network mode". I am not sure if this is a bug? Anyone else able to reproduce the issue on the current version of the utility? Quote Link to comment

That way worked for me and manual setup of usb worked either. I had the same issues with the mac version of usb creator Edited March 7, 2020 by Lindworm 1 Quote Link to comment
mgutt
Same issue in the German forums: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/112301-unraid-usb-creator-schmiert-bei-mir-immer-ab/?tab=comments#comment-1022722 Quote Link to comment
KinkyBanjo
This also happens to me. I can only create boot images when the settings are default and I want to try the UEFI boot option but can't. Quote Link to comment

briangw
I had this problem trying to transfer my backup to a new USB stick. What worked for me was deleting the volume in Disk Manager and not creating a new one. Ran the program, chose my zipped backup and it worked. 1 Quote Link to comment

matguy
Sad that this is still the same problem in 2024. Not even that it happens at all, but that the error message is so unhelpful. I mean, a simple "Partition error, remove partitions" message would go so much further. I ended up removing the partitions in Disk Management and then using diskpart to do a clean (might not have been needed, but might as well) on the disk and it worked with downloading an image and no UEFI boot (unchecked box.)
