Okay well now I have a question thanks for letting me know that 1.4 is now available but I looked on the apps and I see nothing mentioned about a 1.4 and I didn't update request and there's no updates available for what we have now I know we're supposed to restart but I figured if it was a new copy we would get an update warning so where do I get the update to go to 1.4 and what's special things do I have to do for unraid to make it work the best

No, the database will be adapted but you must check the breaking changes in order to change your config file.

You should reinstall the app from the APP store.

So I got that issue commented out, and I went through the breaking changes, and checked everything.  I also had RTMP in my config file, so I removed those.  But I keep getting ffmpeg errors now.  I never got them before the upgrade.  I'm not sure what could be different here that would cause the issue.

Before this I did have multiple streams from my cameras, and I read from a thread in 2022 that can cause issues, so I cut them all to 1 stream, but I'm still having the issue.

 

To clarify, I restart it and they ask work. Then this eventually happens. Sometimes it clears up again. It's mostly doing error saying ffmpeg can't be read.

Did you change the SHM size?

Uhh did I miss that somewhere? I just went and looked and didn't see that in the docs. 

 

I had just finished creating the issue in github and was coming back here to get your name so I could tag you.  I tagged you in it. 

yes i do not know what a "SHM size" is

 

   I also see something that I don't know if it's true or not or should I look in to it. My google coral TPU is showing HOT! I don't know if it's the way unraid is reading it or if i have a problem .. My TPU is living in a 4U rack mount server that has a HELL of a lot of Air Flow. any thoughts?

You have to change clicking in "advanced view" of the container and going to the "Extra Parameters:".  In V14 I had to increase to double the size of the calculation in order to have stability in the system.

This is a known problem, and the temperature limits are there to avoid fire (yes, the catch fire). In you image your TPU ins in 33ºC so there is no problem at all, but if you reach the limits I suggest you to add a heatsink (and maybe a fan). Search in internet "heatsink coral tpu" and you will find some 3D printable solutions with 40mm fans.

see that is why you ask questions here ... thanks for the --shm-size= i set my system to --shm-size=1024mb

will see how that works .. and thanks about the TPU temp just seen the template out of place and though i had a problem ... Till you are better paid... THANKS JG

My system auto updated  last night, and it broke.

Is there a way that I can roll back to the previous version, will only take time to fix it on the weekend.

I normally roll back by changing the version

It was also having this problem and I changed my number by the power of 10 so maybe you just didn't put a big enough number (memory). don't know you can try it.

If the database update has been made no, there is no way to go back without a backup. Auto updates are very risky.

8 cameras on frigate right now, and set it to 1024.

Don't know I have 5 right now and my setting is 2048. As you can tell I just keep dumpling the number until it worked don't know if that's the right way or not but mine's working

I have an issue with updating as well. Actually earlier today i just clicked "update all containers" and left. After beeing back every docker was updated as usual and I was happy. A little later I realized the frigate container was not showing anymore - just gone. When checking for breaking changes I came here and found out, a little config tweeking will be needed. But actually, my container does not startup anymore at all.

Now ChatGPT helped me out to understand, that empty --device parameters are the issue here. Ofcourse I could run this command now directly in Docker without those two empty parameters, but I am note sure what that would mean for future updates of the container, so I would like to stick to the "normal" Unraid installation process. On the other hand I am note sure what to do, as I am note able to find out, which parameters dockers show me are relevant for those two entries. There are severall more in the container setup mask, that I am not using. Are there two parameters not marked as optional that should be marked so?

I understood that I have to re-install from the apps section and tried just that. Another idea that pops up for me - as Frigate is not showing anymore in the docker tab I am not able to delete the old entry anymore. May this cause the issue?

Hello everyone,

 

I'm having an issue that I believe is related to the tmpfs for /tmp/cache.

The Frigate logs are throwing this warning:

frigate.record.maintainer      WARNING : Unable to keep up with recording segments in cache for tele-pole-pano. Keeping the 6 most recent segments out of 9 and discarding the rest...

 

I have 16 gigs of RAM, and Unraid dashboard shows not even 3 gigs of use. This server is only running 4 dockers: MQTT, ZWave, Frigate, and HASS.

I have the default extra parameter tmpfs:

--mount type=tmpfs,destination=/tmp/cache,tmpfs-size=1000000000

I'm assuming that tmpfs mounted to /run is where that is supposed to go?

If so, why is it only 128M in size?

 

Overall, this server pretty much never goes over 10% CPU usage on its 2700X, doesn't go over 3 gigs of the available 16, and doesn't use more than 10% of it's 512 gig nvme cache drive.

 

Edit:

In Frigate's UI, it's correctly showing that it has 1 gig of tmpfs. I'm guessing it is requesting that much, but there isn't that much available.
