  1. Hi! Cool - late reply and all as well, but I'm downloading it as I write this. Thanks!!
  2. Hello, I wanted to report that my new Cyberpower UPS, model CP1300EPFCLCD, often times per day issues a "disconnect" error and then reconnects automatically after 1-2 seconds when I use the built-in (Unraid Plus 6.9.2) apcusbd daemon. I have installed the NUT plugin since a few days and it works flawlessly, no more disconnects. Switching ports/cable did NOT resolve the issues with apcusbd. I therefore suppose there's some software issue in relation with apcusbd which is absent with NUT. Alain
  3. Hello everone, I have installed the Filebot container yesterday with default parameters (except the opensubtitles credentials) and when I start it, I cannot connect via the web GUI, there's a red cross on the top left of the web screen with error "Server disconnected (code : 1006)". I have no clue on where to start fixing this. Here's the log of the container: [s6-init] making user provided files available at /var/run/s6/etc...exited 0. 4. Dear community, I am finally ready to share what I call my "lazy man's Unraid build" ! I believe it's for lazy people because there was definitely NOT a lot of building/tinkering involved 😀 Let's start with a picture and then go to the specs: The specs OS is Unraid Plus 6.9.2, running off a Sandisk Cruzer Fit 32GB thumbdrive Computer (small little gray box on top) is a Minis Forum U850 CPU: Intel Core i5 10210U RAM: 2 x 8GB DDR4 Internal storage: NVME (Kingston 256GB), 2 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSDs used as mirrored cache pool Storage enclosure (black box below) is a Fantec 4 drive USB 3.1 with the following drives 2 x Seagate Ironwolf 8 TB 7200rpm (one parity, one array) 1 x WD Red 3 TB 7200rpm (array) 1 x Seagate unknown model 2 TB 5400rpm (array) So I currently have a total of 13TB usable array storage, and 1TB SSD cache pool I have added a dummy HDMI plug for complete headless operation and to be able to make use of QuickSync within Plex Network is 1Gbit/s A screenshot of the Unraid disk setup: On the subject of using external USB disk enclosures : I know that this is considered "suboptimal", to use a polite word. However, I have been running this for 3 weeks now with great satisfaction, great performance, and without any issues so far. Help me cross fingers! I am using my little Unraid box mainly for my Plex libraries and the usual *rrs Dockers, as well as some tools like DNS server and Internet connection monitoring. What I like: Unraid. It just works, and it's very light/lean. This product and its value proposition should actually be a benchmark for many software companies! I absolutely LOVE it! My setup is very quiet and takes very little space, while having plenty enough "oomph" to run several dockers, Plex with a few parallel streams, and so on. Transfer rates from and to Unraid are consistently bottlenecked by the 1 Gbps network I use. The fact that it was really plug&play with "consumer grade" components that don't need a lot of planning, building, tinkering. Not that I don't like and appreciate this as well, but for this given use case I wanted something that is quick to build, not overy expensive, and which doesn't completely look like a "big ugly black IT box" like my SO would call it. EDIT: I also like the fact that the array disks are spun down when there's no activity, respectively selectively spun up/down. This is good for drive life, power consumption and mainly good for the environment! The Unraid communities, here and on Reddit, with so many knowledgeable and kind people who know a sh*tload about everything and were able to guide and help me very well when I started planning my Unraid journey! Did I say that it just works?? What I dislike: During a parity check or rebuild, the disks get relatively hot (49-50°C) because this Fantec case has suboptimal cooling. USB C ... I am afraid that one day, shit will happen and I will need to go to a more robust option. The Fantec case has too many blinking LEDs, even when all the disks are spun down. My urge to continuously enhance my Unraid setup and in the end finish with a "big ugly back IT box" with way too many drives and CPU and RAM horsepower than what I'd ever really need and use. So what do you think? I hope you like my setup, and my enthusiasm for Unraid! And yes, you are definitely allowed to tell me again that external USB enclosures are a bad idea 🙂 Best, Alain
  5. Hello community, Is there an easy way to monitor/display the TBW values for my SSDs / nvmes without having to install something huge like Unraid Ultimate Dashboard and without having to go thru the various SSDs and nvmes manually? Thanks, Alain

    SYNC LOCAL FOLDERS

Hello, Maybe you could try the user scripts plugin to program a recurring job and use rsync like (example): rsync -avu --delete "/home/user/A" "/home/user/B" ⚠ Warning - please don't use the above as is because there IS deleting of files involved! You should check on rsync's man page / documentation to find the parameters that allow you to implement your use case. Also, bi-directional sync might need running rsync twice in a row, or even multiple times depending on what you're exactly trying to achieve.
  7. Hi BlackCat Actually see my post above yours - I managed to solve the issue! Your analysis is correct, this was most probably the issue.
  8. Hi all, A quick update on this, I believe I have solved the issue. What I did is: Triple-check my cache settings (Yes, Prefer, Only etc) and the various path mappings for my dockers : OK Stop the docker service Invoke the Mover manually and let it do its job Restart docker and its containers Observe - all good! So I believe I somehow had a misconfiguration at the beginning of my unRAID installation and configuration, and then transferring a few TB worth of data through the cache (rookie mistake), the cache drive filling up, and some "Prefer cache" shares being offloaded to the hard disks because of lack of space. Now, all looks good!
  9. Thanks @Tom Sealey ! This pointed me towards the solution. I simply bound the ts-dnsserver docker to a different IP address using the "custom" property for network, and now all is well! Cheers mate!
  10. Good day everyone, Running latest unRAID OS "Plus", and latest version of ts-dnsserver. I have recently starting experimenting with ts-dnsserver, and have come accross a problem I can't properly debug or explain. Every so often I notice that when the ts-dnsserver docker is stopped, and try to start it, the start process exits with an "execution error". Checking the logfiles, I find an error message that it cannot bind to port 53 (which is indeed bad for a DNS server 😁 ). Opening a terminal on the unRAID box and listing processes attached to port 53, I see a "dnsmasq" process. Once I kill this process, the ts-dnsserver docker starts again and all works fine. Any ideas? Sorry to not be clearer or more explicit ; if it helps to provide additional data, please let me know which. Thanks in advance, Alain
  11. Hello, Without any "planned or known" activity, my array drives get activated every few seconds with very small writes, like in this screenshot: How can I find out what processes / applications / dockers / younameit are responsible for this activity, as it prevents my disks from going to sleep? I checked my configuration and as far as my understanding goes, my "cache" setup and parameters for the shares are correct, and writes should go to the cache drive, not directly to the array... Many thanks, Alain
  12. Hello, On my new setup, I currently run a small 256GB Kingston nvme as my sole cache drive. I plan on upgrading this to two 1TB SSD drives that I plan to mirror. After some reading I found out that the Samsung 860 Pro 1TB model offers the highest TBW rating of "consumer" drives, with an announced 1,200 TBW for the 1 TB model. Also, the price on Amazon seems reasonable / acceptable to me. Before I go ahead with the purchase, could anyone confirm this is a good choice, and tell me whether there are other good alternatives to consider? Thanks!
  13. Hi! I can’t find the ControlR app in my Apple Appstore in Luxembourg. Is this by decision? thanks!
