So you won't try it? Tom seems quite reasonable if you have a USB thumb drive fail and you ask for a new key from posts I've seen (I'll go looking for those posts if you want). Do you have personal experience or know someone that was denied a refund? It will be released when it's released. What if Tom just renames RC8 to final, would that make you all happy? Why does he need to tell you that it's not ready yet, because he said he would? He said "I had hoped to complete and release 5.0 'final' before leaving, but just ran out of time. He had hoped it would be done, but ran out of time and now the Holidays are here so I'm sure he is busy. You all need to calm down a little. Maybe he is adding more features to it, maybe he is waiting till his new servers are ready? Who knows but it doesn't really matter. We all want it to be released and would like more communication from him but this is the way he does things so you just need to learn and live with it. If you don't like it find another product or write one yourself. This form is not offical, if you need HELP you are supposed to email him but don't expect a response if you ask about BETA software. I want to replace my parity drive with a new 3TB drive I just ordered and run the preclear 3 times is this correct? Its a Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001 I should stop the array power it down install the drive power it up start the array then preclear_disk.sh -A -c 3 /dev/xxx Is this correct, sorry I don't do this much and want to make sure I do it correctly. Also any idea how long it will take to preclear it 3 times, (a week)? Than I should stop the array power it down replace the parity drive with the one I just cleared power it up and hit start Correct? thanks

Thanks, so if I want to delete some other files I should just be able to change the "Appledouble" to something else correct? Yup it worked for me, what do these files do anyhow and all they all safe to delete?

OK you Linux genius's, how can I find and delete ALL .AppleDB .AppleDesktop .AppleDouble I believe I figure out how to prevent these from being created on my network shares by running this in terminal "defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true". I would now like to delete all these files, I have the unmenu script installed but I don't think that deletes all of these since they still show up. thanks edit...I found this code but no clue what is does, would this work? Why not buy the rails and plywood and build your own. That's what I did, built mine for about $110

I have a ATV version 2 I believe and jailbreaked it to run Plex. It plays all my moves and tv shows which are all in mkv format. The newest atv hasn't been jailbreaked yet so you may want to look at roku. Plex can be install on that I believe. I could be wrong but I don't think any transcoding is involved. I also have the Plex client on my phone so I have full access to all my media

I also have two pro licenses and I fully support Tom. Would I like more communication or updates, of course but I can wait. This is why I've said that as a developer you should NOT put a date on a release, release it when it's ready. The Plex team does it that way and it works great for them. I realize that Plex is free but it doesn't matter. Tom please hang in there and release it when you think you have it ready. You have the best product out there.

I just signed up for Supernews, so far I like it better than astraweb. I'm getting less errors and more complete downloads.

I'm not egging you on, it's because you are talking crap with a lawsuit and claim you know the laws in other countries. You sound like some guy that said he was going to take me to small claims court, file a claim with a collection agency and have my wages garnished because HE didn't send me the correct thing on eBay. I filed a claim on eBay to have my money refunded and won and sent the item back to him. You need to learn the law before you start threatening action, the guy can't do any of that because we are in two different states plus other reasons. I'm not saying you can't sue but I doubt you would win or even have a solid case. I personally don't think you have any intention of suing, I think you want to scare Tom so he posts something. You bought a paid for 4.7, not 5 which is still in beta. Tom said he wanted to try and release it before vacation but that didn't happen because he ran out of time. So he is working on it and when it's released it will be released. Could Tom update us more often, of course and that would be great but if he doesn't than let it be. He will post when he has something ready to say. Otherwise he may say he hopes to release it tomorrow and when it's not released we will start all over with this.
