  1. I've been going over my appdata directory and have found a couple of issues. 1. There are remnants from dockers I once had installed but since removed 2. Somehow I have ended up with two appdata directories - one called 'appdata' and one called 'appdatal' I'd like to A. Remove the old unused directories from non-existing dockers B. Consolidate everything back to the original 'appdata' directory Regarding A, can I just delete these? Regarding B, I would assume the approach would be to: i. Shutdown all dockers ii. Make a backup of both 'appdata' and 'appdatal' iii. As root, copy subdirectories from 'appdatal' to 'appdata' iv. Manually go through all of the dockers and edit to ensure that directory paths concerning appdata now point to 'appdata' and not 'appdatal' v. Start one docker at a time, check that it works and watch its log for anything that seems wrong - as well as check the old entries in 'appdatal' using 'ls -lah' to see if there has been any access after the reconfiguration. Does this seem like a sound approach?
  2. Yeah, sorry - I was wrong. I meant that it's set to use cache. The setting I have is "Yes"
  3. Hmm.... I seem to have pinpointed when all disks spin up. As to the why, I have no clue. I have a share that is limited to one disk (disk 1). It has prefer cache set so everything written to the share is written to cache first. If I read access that share, I would expect that only that one disk would spin up. - What happens is that disk1 spins up. As I expect. If I do a write/delete/modify on that share, I would expect disk1 and parity drives to spin up. - What happens is that disk1 and the two parity drives spin up. And after a short period, the rest of the disks also spin up. In addition to having only disk1 included for the share, I have tried to also specifically exclude the rest of the disks. Didn't change anything. Can anyone explain this behaviour? Am I missing some setting or am I misunderstanding how this is supposed to work? Edit: Tried disabling cache_dirs altogether, which doesn't remedy the issue.
  4. I have been running unRAID since version 4 and have always enjoyed the spindown feature a lot - keeps noise levels in my home office down, and is easy on the electricity bill. Lately however, I have been having a lot of trouble with keeping disks from spinning up. I have - tried stopping all dockers and VMs so nothing except the core system is running. I manually spin down disks but when I look againg after 30 mins, all disks are spun up. - have installed the File Activity plugin to keep an eye on file activity, and apart from some expected movement on a share that is locked to one disk and also uses cache, nothing goes on. Only that one disk is listed in the activity list, but all disks are spun up. - have cache_dirs but have set Cache Pressure to 1. Kind of running out of stuff to check and test, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  5. That would definitely be nice and put a smile on my kids' faces - but don't go out of your way to do it - no rush!
  6. Will the Terraria server work for IOS clients as well? Anything special that needs to be done or observed? Or is it PC only?
  7. Thank you very much 🙂 Been hoping for this one for a while!
  8. Thanks - yeah, I've never had particular issues with Seagate drives over any other. I have Seagate, WD, HGST and Toshiba drives in my array. Have a couple of ST4000s that are coming up on the 5 year mark soon. Still rocking 🙂
  9. Ok - no responses - that's okay 🙂 In the end I opted for the X10 as the 5 year warranty outweighed the "known tech" factor.
  10. One of my two parity drives is exhibiting massive read and write failures, so I am gonna swap it out. I am looking at either a - HGST HUH728080ALE600 8TB drive - Recertified with one year warranty; or - Seagate Exos X10 ST8000NM0016 8TB drive - new, with 5 year warranty Price is the same - the reason I am keeping the HGST on the table is that the other parity drive is the same and serves well. It also has a good track record in the Backblaze reports (so does the 10TB version of the Seagate, but it still isn't the same drive). Both are 512e models btw. Any thoughts before I roll the dice? 🙂
  11. Thanks - nice to hear from others who also have problems getting this to work - one starts to think he is the only one who can't get it working when there are no responses 🙂 Anyway, I've fixed the trailing slash which unfortunately didn't fix anything 😕 Regarding the enabling of Sonarr, that is unfortunately part of the next setup page in the WebGUI which I can't access (it is greyed out in the background while it loads) So I'm still stuck 😞 Btw, the template also didn't suggest bridge or host for network mode for me, so I manually chose bridge.
  12. @whipdancer @TType85 Thank you for your input. I have made the switch to Sonarr which seems to be working fine for me - thanks!
  13. I am having some trouble getting this to work properly. I read the preceding posts about paths and feel sure that I have them correct. My problem is that when I have done the general settings page in the UI as well as the Subliminal page, I am left with a "Loading page" that just seems to be stuck. Note that I am not using Radarr which is why there are no entries for that in the UI, but only in the docker template (as I didn't want it to throw an error if it was missing. I have attached screenshots and would appreciate if someone who has it working could point out where I went wrong Thanks in advance!
  14. I've been running the Sabnzbd + Sickbeard setup (both LSIO dockers, thanks guys!) for ages and it more or less minds it own - I only do minor household on them. While perusing the apps it dawned on me that Sickbeard has been discontinued - the entry actually says that it is for unRaid 5 and unsupported on my version of unRaid (6.6.3) - but so far it seems to be working. However, sooner or later it's probably gonna cause problems so I figured I'd start testing out a new setup. Thing is, I have no clue what a worthy alternative is. I'm not a heavy user - have like 10-12 active series and I really like not to have to tinker a lot with the setup. I mainly use NNTP. Torrent support could be ok, I guess, but not sure I'd use it out of my unRaid setup. Would be nice with subtitle DL as well, but can you really trust that to work, timing-wise when playing back anyway? Any suggestions on what to go for?
  15. That sounds plausible - my server had resumed to normal fan operation this morning so something must have settled during the night. Will hold off on installing the update as all seems quiet now and I am leaving for a four day business trip. Can fiddle around with it when I return - I know it will haunt me if it doesn't work out and I leave the family with full tilt fan noise coming from the office
  16. So, just took the update and my fans have been spinning like crazy ever since :-( Running a X11SSM-F
  17. trurl, thanks. I guess I am gonna bite the bullet and get going. Have started the extended smart tests now :-)
  18. jonathanm, thank you for your suggestion. You mention that parity can be rebuilt in a few hours - am I missing something or is the parity rebuild not equal in duration to a parity check? If so, that's like 16 hours for me so the process you outline will take a long time with three parity checks across the seven steps.
  19. I am about to shrink my array as I want to phase out an older drive and have plenty of space as is. The drive contents have already been relocated using unBalance. However, I am a bit uncertain about the process as I have seen a couple of different approaches. Can someone who has followed this procedure: https://lime-technology.com/wiki/Shrink_array#The_.22Clear_Drive_Then_Remove_Drive.22_Method verify that this will in fact allow me to remove the drive without breaking parity? If it matters, I am running dual parity. Thanks in advance for any input and advice! BR, Thomas
  20. Lothar, thanks for the input. Good link! I did pick up on the thresholds needing change, but picked up on it in this post by dmacias earlier in the thread. So I changed it through the interface :-)
  21. I stand corrected and humbly apologize :-(
  22. Ermm. Ok - I certainly did not mean to offend anyone, but based on what I read in the 6.4.1 release thread, he seemed to be in control of the plugin. Thank you for the input - will try to reinstall from CA as you suggest.
  23. I just lost my SABnzbd docker install due to still having Squid's "Advanced Buttons" plugin installed while updating the docker :-( If at all, I would like to avoid having to configure everything over again when re-installing. I have a recent copy of the of the appdata folder. Any suggestions on how I minimize the effort involved in getting this back on its feet? Thanks in advance for any help!
