  1. http://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=E3C236D2I Looks like this doesn't. Any non server motherboards supporting 6 SATA + m.2?
  2. So, how did you do it? If this can be done on Skylake, it would make mini ITX builds incredible for running 2 full GPU enabled VMs..
  3. jon, that should be in an FAQ somewhere! I will be trying this ASAP.
  4. Hey binhex, thanks for all your hard work. I keep getting this issue appearing in my logs: 2016-02-03 23:06:46,406 DEBG 'plexmediaserver' stderr output: Error loading bundle code. When viewing the log. I've installed the absolute scanner and HamaTV and i think these aren't working very well, i need the absolute scanner for anime... I'd like to see where it errors out but the log viewer just doesn't load after 1-2 seconds.
  5. I am interested in building a SkyLake system, but have yet to find the 'ideal' motherboard.. Is the wishlist too difficult? Mobo with 8x SATA, 1xm.2 and 2x PCI-E 16x, with separate IOMMU?
  6. Like many others, i am running my HTPC in my unRAID server. 7.6m HDMI cable is doing 4k with my GTX 960 just fine. I would like a motherboard that can allow 2 GPU and 2 PCI-e USB controller cards so i can have two distinct VMs working like this. I am yet to find one that also has 8 SATA + m2...
  7. Hey guys, i have my old NAS which i briefly turned into a gaming PC up for sale. It features many components i bought last year for it, so its relatively high end in some respects. I think its a great value deal for whats on offer. I took away all the drives btw, just left the SSD! £450 for pickup, message me to discuss! Pickup in London would be ideal... 8. GTX 960 owner here, all works fine. Not sure what im doing different. Had to enable PCIe ACS Override for my motherboard unfortunately...
  9. Exactly, slot all that into a nice small power efficient case/psu and you've potentially got 40TB powerhouse!
  10. Considering the release of the new 1541 CPU and the ability to do SR-IOV, is there purpose for putting pure unRAID on this? Will the 10gbit network be supported? Is there an elegant 6 drive case that will fit this? I'd look for 6x8TB drives... I'd be looking to put a 16x PCI-I GPU in here also...
  11. Thank you tobbenb for your efforts! I have a SAT>IP receiver, and sometimes TVH will just stop seeing it. I'll have to stop and start the docker for it to recover (not restart). Not sure why!
  12. It's odd. Admittedly i have one drive with failing SMART, which i need to replace... but these Seagate Desktop drives were a bust. Warranty is too short... I also have a dubious PSU... I need to give my server an update. Attached are some things, but still not sure if they will help. 13. Im now having the same problem, out of the blue. 30mb/s is the top speed i get during parity check and server struggles to do anything else during that...
  14. Great response guys. Indeed the X11SAE-F might be better, however this post was specifically for that mATX form factor, that can get you a nice and small server put together. Find a case that takes mATX and 8 hot swap drives and you've got a great mid-range system here!
  15. Great Socket 1151 board: http://www.supermicro.co.uk/products/motherboard/Xeon/C236_C232/X11SAE-M.cfm IPMI is a good option, so are the 8xSATA (ideal IMHO). Questions: Can we use that M2 slot for cache? Looks like we can! 8x SATA slots for HDDs. Is there a PCI-E 3.0 4x GFX card that can be passed through? Looks like a 1x GPU will work here. Can we pass through the 16x and 4x slots at the same time? Looks like this is also a yes. Can the PCI slot be used for a DVB card? Looks like it also! From the photos you could also get away with a long GPU as well In summary, a great board for mATX system builders that ticks a lot of boxes for making a small and compact server with 8 drives. Now, what case to put this in...
  16. This is amazingly good and should be rolled into unRAID instead of the current method of managing dockers.
  17. I flashed to the version 20 of the firmware with no issues. Did not go to v3 BIOS though, it's such a hassle to update BIOS on this motherboard.
  18. Thanks for the advice! I guess i'm looking for a way to take HDMI + USB over distance...
  19. For me the SSD helps when running VMs, extracting large files, generally just speeds up IO so much it doesn't make sense not to have one. I use the client and was not aware that 6.0 had a web interface, which would be awesome. I am trying to move to barebones unRAID 6.0 myself so i don't see the point of using ESXi at all... considering how much easier it is to do device passthrough in unRAID.
  20. If i have my server in my closet, has anyone found a good way of transmitting USB and HDMI over network? This is to allow me to have a monitor and USB hub anywhere and just use the closet-server for everything? http://www.startech.com/uk/AV/Extenders/HDMI/HDMI-over-IP-Extender-with-Audio~IPUSB2HD2 There is this, but damn its pricey!
  21. Excellent, let us know how this board works. I would suggest going for SSDs as cache, for a system at this level, why not!
  22. Don't see why you shouldn't use the latest. In fact, i wonder if it is worth upgrading mine as well? Did we get a resolution to the frequency issues?
