I've had 10 of these in my server, 3 of them developed a smart error, but then only 2 year warranty so they are wasted. Will aim for 3-5 year warranty on my next drives...

I have exactly the same issues. Passthrough SSD, get 3mb/s seq writes without passthrough i get about 0.3mb/s, sluggish GPU... All working fine with Windows direct. Anyone with a system working well, like jonp, maybe can try the same command?

Passing a USB controller from my motherboard to the VM caused all kinds of stuttering and audio problems. Removing this fixed it. Still not great SSD or GPU performance even when passthrough SSD...

I will work out the fan issue tonight. Looks like i found that Bus 1 had one of the headers (didn't realise there are 3) but it means the ATEN KVM device gets lost there too, don't know if there is any negative effect. However, this causes extreme audio stuttering even with the MSI fix, so i had to revert. Looks like there is no way to pass through the USB bus of this board. GPU performance is improved over my previous PCI-E 2.0 8x slot with this board, achieving about 90-95% of non VM.

I have bought this motherboard second hand, here are some observations: The fans keep cycling unless i have them on full speed - have yet to resolve. SCU works fine with my drives. I get 150mb/s parity checks and i have the whole thing fully loaded. There are 2 USB controller groups, and all the ports are in the same group - very disappointed here. It will not passthrough my Xbox 360 controller, it gives a "submiturb failed error -1 errno=28" constantly. GPU passthrough works without "PCIe ACS Override" just fine! The USB controller groups really got me though, i expected more Anyone else have this board?

Hey guys, i have taken the CPU/MOBO out of this fantastic 1U chassis and as i don't have space for it, i think it deserves a new home. Go for 4TB drives, the £ per GB is better on those at the moment. One SSD for VMS, one SSD for Dockers and the rest would do. Seems good!

Hey binhex, what is going on with the permissions situation and your dockers? Suddenly everything is owned by root and set to 755 which makes it impossible to manage things without having to ssh and change things all the time.

Same issue as above...

Couldn't work without port 8080, even if i set my EdgeRouter Lite to the unRAID server as the UniFI controller. Setting the network to 'host' and changing SabNZBD to something else worked...

I did the above, started the docker. Added the required line to another docker and this completely kills my server. Freezes over IPMI also.

So this is still broken?

Not sure how this board will handle IOMMU groups and USB split... which is my biggest pain point and headache with my current setup... Also you'd need a 2242 m.2 PCIE device which tops at 512GB for a big price hike.

I would also like to see if there is a low cost ITX alternative to a server board that will have 6 SATA ports + m.2 on Skylake.

What ever happened to the closed beta testing team? Why doesn't LT just launch this, the feedback would do wonders i would have thought.

jonp, would there be a way to move the contents of an existing vdisk image directly onto a disk, change the location to said disk and boot up as normal? What's the config change and process, if it's possible? I have a 512GB SSD i'd like to use exclusively for that VM!

I clearly can't see! I have emailed to ask availability of this motherboard. I have also found a suitably sized SSD that comes up to 512GB sizes, but it is 3 times the price of 256GB one. http://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-645 On the other hand, i have not found an el-cheapo ITX board that has m.2 and 6x SATA... Anyone had better luck?
