[Plugin] Swapfile for 6.9.1
Anyway, I never thanked you for writing this app. Despite my difficulties in setting a proper location for my swap file, it is working fine on my 10TB cheche drive at the moment, and I will probably be able to work something out on an SSD drive. The 64GB unbuffered ECC udimms I need are prohibitively expensive right now. Because of your app at the very least, I can bide my time until a good deal comes along. Also, prices are consistently dropping quickly now. Reputable vendors are around $170 or more per stick, and I need four. I have seen them go occasionally for $80 a stick in eBay history. I'll be able to hold out. So thanks đ

[Plugin] Swapfile for 6.9.1
I've got a 256GB Samsung PRO SATA SSD sitting in a drawer and even a Patriot PIRO 64GB, but getting to another SATA port on my LSI board is hindered by other hardware on my motherboard, and that's the last of my SATA ports. Thinking about it, that 64GB SSD would be perfect. Swap file would be its only job and it would almost never get used. I ran out of memory a few days ago for the first time since we switched over to PLEX DVD from TiVo and have hit the wall three times now. Suddenly 32GB for Dockers isn't enough. I went ahead an installed your app and used the 10TB cache drive for the swap file location. I figure better that than run out of memory. I also edited my dockers to limit their memory, but that will impact their performance all the time and I hardly ever run out of memory. It's especially going to hurt nzbget. It sometimes uses more than 16GB on its own if I let it.

Don's know how but: Out of memory errors detected on your server
Yeah, I'm running 8 tuners as well. Often there are three simultaneous recordings (sometimes more during sports) and someone could be watching live TV. When the temp file size limit is reached, PLEX just writes it to the actual hard drive right?

Makes sense and good to know. Thank you.

Don's know how but: Out of memory errors detected on your server
I knew there was a way to do this, but I couldn't remember how or where to look. I was about to ask. Thanks for posting this again. EDIT: I already had it limited to 16GB. I think I'll lower it to 8GB. However, I'm seeing that nzbget can easily surpass 16GB on its own, deluge can easily use 8GB, so having PLEX at 8GB still could result in not enough memory. I limited Deluge to 6GB and nzbget to 8GB. The other Dockers are already limited to 2GB or don't use much memory. I also did install the swap file plugin and assigned the swap file to my 10TB cache spinner. Better an overflow goes there than crash the server. I have a 250GB Samsung SATA SSD sitting here in a drawer but no more SATA ports that are easy to use. I've got four ports left on my LSI card, but the sixth mini-sas terminal is really not very (not at all) usable because of other hardware on the motherboard. I might try. This isn't a problem often, so having a swap file on an SSD would be ideal. Then I could put nzbget and deluge back to unlimited memory and retain full performance.

[Plugin] Swapfile for 6.9.1
I know you say straight off no, but this really won't work on a RAID1 SSD pool? I can see it not working well on other RAID configurations, but am vexed as to why not on RAID1? Thanks.

Don's know how but: Out of memory errors detected on your server
Oh, I don't think I can use the Swapfile plugin. Both of my SSD pools are RAID; one is RAID0 and the other is RAID1. My cache drive is not RAID, but it's a 10GB spinner so not a good place for a swap file in terms of performance. The cache drive has got to be super fragmented as well. Also, I just discovered Deluge Docker uses a lot of memory while doing a recheck. I was probably using nzbget to decompress, PLEX to record, and rechecking in Deluge all at the same time. I'm going to have to put memory limits on each Docker as you suggested. Suddenly 32GB for the Dockers doesn't seem like much anymore đ¤.

Don's know how but: Out of memory errors detected on your server
Thanks for the info and links. I just watched nzbget while it downloaded a relatively small file of less than 30GB. It grabbed 16GB of memory before it was finished. I suspect the other day it was decompressing two large files totaling over 125GB simultaneously and I bet that caused at least one of my over runs. I am also watching PLEX as it is recording two shows and the memory usage is just going up and up. I have the PLEX Docker using memory as the temp directory. If I limit the memory PLEX Docker is allowed to use, do you know what happens to PLEX if and when it gets full?

Don's know how but: Out of memory errors detected on your server
Thanks for the link. I did not know that was doable. It is highly possible nzbget WAS indeed unpacking something when I ran out of memory. I will watch for this and consider limiting its usage going forward.

Don's know how but: Out of memory errors detected on your server
Question. I know how to limit RAM on VM's. But how do you limit RAM for Dockers? FWIW I have Docker's CPU cores Pinned to 1/9, 2/10 ,3/11. unRAID has CPU 0/8 all to itself. Thanks again.

Thanks Jorge, I rebooted to clear the error. We'll see what happens I guess.

Don's know how but: Out of memory errors detected on your server
I was out of town for a few days on business and came home to find this. I have never run out of memory before and always have plenty free. The only difference in the server over the past month is that we have been running PLEX DVR as our primary DVR after I removed the TiVo's from our house. I do run the Folder Caching app with cache pressure set to zero, but I have done that for like 10+ years on multiple server versions with plenty of memory without issue. The first instance appears to have been on May 23rd 18:50:29, but there are more after that: Attached is my diagnostics. It seems my windows 11 VM is very activce for some unknown reason (go Microsoft), but it has memory limited to 32GB so I don't see how that could cause an issue with the 32GB dedicated to unRAID and the Dockers? This came out of the blue on a server that has been running the same and flawlessly for a long time. The only thing I changed recently was add the MariaDB-Official Docker just last week for Kodi. Thanks for any help. I'm stumped ATM. unraid-diagnostics-20230529-1200.zip

[SOLD] - US - HDHomeRun Dual Tuner - $60 - w/free shipping in the U.S.
The reception capability on the HDHomerun tuners far surpasses the TiVo tuners as well. Less pixelation and audio dropouts by far, and they can easily pull in more difficult stations compared to any TiVo model.

[SOLD] - US - HDHomeRun Dual Tuner - $60 - w/free shipping in the U.S.
I kind of want to buy this just to get two more tuners as six is sometimes necessary for me... but I really want the HDHomeRun FLEX 4K myself. We don't have any ATSC 3.0 channels in Chicago yet except one intermittent jewelry HSN like channel, so I'm not missing anything ATM. I hope the price drops (at least on used FLEX) and that HDHomeRun introduces a model with more ATSC 3.0 tuners than just the two. I may finally dump my TiVo universe as PLEX has significantly and dramatically improved their DVR to a much more family friendly interface. It's finally competitive maybe. Today is the first day I am trying it out with the family. Televes also has a new antenna out that is tuned for the USA repack: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VR53MWC I usually build my own antennas, but this seemed like something I had to try. The preamp is really well designed and high quality right at the element, and it has 5G filtering built in. So far, the results are interesting. The signal strength isn't as high as with my own antenna and nor is the signal quality on some stations. However, I am getting zero pixelation or audio dropouts... zero. And I get more stations, even ones the antenna isn't pointing at! Anyway, someone should buy Hoopster's tuner and a Televes 148883 Ellipse antenna. You'll be amazed. And if you already have PLEX Pass it includes a TV guide and DVR so no subscription needed.

Tower cases with 5.25" drive bays top to bottom...
It looks nicer than the Xigmatek too, but lacks the 3.5" dock at the top that I use all the time with unassigned devices.

Tower cases with 5.25" drive bays top to bottom...
Looks similar to my Xigmatek Elysium case which I love. I'm considering buying one of these AI Raider Xl cases just to have around. It's soooo hard to find a tower that can hold 20 spinners.
