Use them for offline backups. Temporarily connect them using UD, backup your critical data, then remove them to keep your critical data safe.

Do you already have full backups of all your data elsewhere?
  3. If you look in the edit screen for that VM, it's referencing disks defined there. Typically that will be the vdisk.img file, not a real disk.
  4. Do you have any backups at all of your flash drive? Do you have the .key file for your license that was sent to you when you purchased Unraid?
  5. 99% of motherboard RAID setups aren't actually hardware RAID, more like front end configuration for software based RAID. What you propose is possible with some hardware based RAID cards, but not recommended for several reasons, the biggest being that if you pass through a RAID volume Unraid is unable to monitor disk health properly.
  6. Is there any way you can add RAM? I suspect 2GB may not be enough for the latest version of Unraid.
  7. If it's not too difficult, I'd like to see the root password defaulted to a portion of the flash GUID for new installs and anytime settings are wiped out. I know it would greatly increase support requests for new installs, but I think it would be worth it to force unique passwords on all installs. I think it would be sufficient to use the last 9 digits of the flash GUID, hopefully the USB creator tool and manual install scripts could be modified to alert the user of the root password.
  8. Try stopping the array and powering down the server. Remove power from the server so it resets completely, then try again.
  9. This. vdisks are created sparse by default. However, over-committing the available space can bite you if you don't manage it carefully.
  10. Yes, the mobile client supports granularity down to the folder level, so you can have videos only sync while charging, but photos synced immediately. Totally free. It's not the fastest program, so temper your expectations on performance, but other than that it's been great for me.
  11. It can be blocked with a firewall if you wish, but it's not selective. https://tinywall.pados.hu/download.php
  12. Not normal at all. I suspect either a bad HBA, cable, connection or drive is causing the system to hang waiting on a valid response from the drive.
  13. Remove that forwarding rule immediately. If you need remote management, use the included wireguard VPN or other VPN solution with an endpoint inside your LAN. It's very likely the cause of your issues, you probably were hacked.
  14. Tools, Diagnostics, download the zip file, attach the whole zip file to your next post.
  15. Attach the diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread.
  16. First, when you have a cache pool with 2 members, the amount of space available with the default RAID1 config is equal to the smaller of the 2, because each piece of data must be duplicated on a different member. BTRFS free and used space numbers are a work in progress, the display is pretty much guaranteed to be wrong. While the CPU you have in the Unraid box is older, I don't see any reason why you couldn't run all your acquiring and organizational apps as containers on Unraid. If plex isn't doing any transcoding it would run comfortably on Unraid as well. If you are serving more than 1 client, and if any are remote or need transcoding, then you need more CPU, so leaving the current plex server would be better. The amount of CPU needed for the 'arrs and related pieces aren't really very significant, I think it would be better to keep the traffic all in one box vs. doing it on different boxes and moving it around the LAN.
  17. I guess I need to flesh out my request a little more. I'm not saying to permanently neuter the browser, just make the default settings extremely restricted, and bypassing those restrictions non-trivial on each restart. Maybe just populate a policies.json file. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enforcing-policies-firefox-enterprise { "policies": { "WebsiteFilter": { "Block": ["<all_urls>"], "Exceptions": ["http://example.org/*"] } } }
  18. I would like to see the firefox instance that launches in GUI mode limited to local non-routable addresses and unraid.net only. Ideally any attempt to browse elsewhere would redirect to instructions on setting up a VM that could be accessed through the browser.
  19. Are you using the browser built in to the GUI to browse the web? If so, stop. The only thing you should be using the built in browser for is to manage the server.
  20. Are you sure the RAID volume is using all the drives? Posting diagnostics would show some info.
  21. The container has a cron job to renew overnight, I can't remember the time, but I'm guessing it conflicts with your backup schedule.
