Solutions

  1. graphius's post in Broken Share - RESOLVED was marked as the answer   
    I rebooted the server (again), then I was able to remove the share via command line. I did a cleanup of shares, and it seems to be working now. 
    Something was malformed when I set up the share last night. This morning I was able to resolve it.
